IRVINE, CA (June 21, 2009):  The Irvine Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old girl.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Friday June 19, 2009, 12-year-old Clarissa Zahedtalab was reported missing.  Family members said she left their home at about 6:00 p.m. and did not say where she was going.  When she did not return within several hours her family became concerned and called the police.  According to family members Clarissa has left home without permission on several previous occasions and typically would return after several hours.  When she did not return on this date the family became concerned.

Irvine Police have been following-up on all available leads, but have not yet located Clarissa.  They are therefore asking for the public’s assistance in locating her.  Clarissa moved to Irvine about a month ago, having previously lived in Riverside.  Clarissa has friends in Riverside and may frequent that area.  Anyone with information relating to Clarissa’s whereabouts is asked to contact local law enforcement or the Irvine Police Department at (949) 724-7000.

Missing Person:

Clarissa Christina Zahedtalab, 12-year-old female, 5’7”, 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.  Last seen wearing a black long sleeved shirt, blue jeans, grey sneakers, white/purple earring studs and carrying a white purse with a gold design on it.

UPDATE (June 25, 2009):  Clarissa was located by police in Riverside early Wednesday evening.  She had been with friends and was found in good condition.  She has been reunited with her family.
