Text: On 6/23/2009 at approximately 2245 hours, the Alaska State
Troopers arrived at a residence on Rigging Lane in Ketchikan for a
reported domestic disturbance. Troopers contacted 31 year old Vincent
A. Piazza III of Ketchikan. Investigation revealed Piazza was on felony
probation for a previous MICS IV conviction. Subsequent investigation
revealed Piazza was in violation of his probation for consuming alcohol.
Ketchikan Adult Probation arrived on scene and arrested Piazza. Piazza
was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center for the probation
violation where he will be held until arraignments.

Text: On 6/23/09 at approximately 2040 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a reported motor vehicle collision at Palmer Wasilla
Highway and Weswood, Palmer. Investigation revealed that Theresa
Williams, age 21, of Palmer was eastbound on Palmer Wasilla Highway in
her 1993 Dodge Shadow and was attempting to turn left onto Weswood when
she collided with an eastbound 1993 Chevy pick up truck driven by
Patricia Odonohue, age 45, of Wasilla. Williams sustained minor
injuries and was transported to Matsu Regional Medical Center for
treatment of her injuries. Both drivers were wearing their safety belts
at the time of the collision. All passengers in Williams’ and
Odonohue’s vehicles reported no injuries and were wearing their safety
belts. Williams was issued a citation for failure to use her turn
signal and for Failure to show proof of insurance.

Text: On 6/24/2009, approx. 0105 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped a
red 2006 Jeep Wrangler on the Palmer Wasilla Highway near E. Snider
Drive in Wasilla for a moving violation. Investigation revealed Larry
D. May was operating his vehicle while intoxicated. May was arrested
for DUI, issued two traffic citations, and remanded to MSPT where he was
held on $2,500 bail with a court appointed third party required.

Text: On 6/24/09 at approximately 1802 hours, Talkeetna AST stopped a
1997 GMC Yukon at Mile 69 Parks Highway for a traffic violation.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, Vanessa Gamage, 24 of
Anchorage, was driving with a revoked AK drivers license. Gamage was
issued a summons to appear in court for DWLS and a traffic citation.
Gamage was released from the scene; the vehicle was released to a
licensed passenger.

Text: On 6/22/09, at approximately 1900 hours, the AST St. Mary’s Post
received a report of a domestic violence assault that occurred in Mtn.
Village. Investigation revealed Nathan A. Agwiak, age 24, of Mtn.
Village held his girlfriend against her will while he assaulted her
several times in a 12 hours period. Troopers were finally able to
locate Agwiak on 6/23/09 when he was taken into custody without
incident. Agwiak is being held at the St. Mary’s Jail pending
arraignment. Alcohol was a factor.

Text: On 6/23/09, at 1740 hrs, Unalakleet AST and the Unalakleet Police
Department forced entry into the house of Louis Mischa Tucker, age 66 of
Unalakleet, as a welfare check had been requested as he had not been
seen in several days. Inside the house Tucker was found deceased. The
SME was contacted and released the body for burial. Next of kin have
been notified.

a Minor II and one count of Harassment II. Shoogukwruk was transported
to Nome where he was lodged at Anvil Mountain Correctional Center.

Text: On 6-15-09 at 0935 hours, Justin Lindell, age 34 of King Salmon
was pulling into the parking lot of Peninsula Airways in King Salmon.
Lindell was driving a blue Chevy pickup bearing Alaska license plate
ELG368. At the same time, Jason Irwin, age 28 of Millsboro, DE was
backing out of the parking lot in a white passenger van bearing Alaska
plate DRR617. Irwin backed into Lindell’s vehicle as he passed, causing
damage to the driver’s side rear quarter panel. No damage was done to
the passenger van. Damage to the Chevy pickup was estimated at $1000.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and no citations were issued.

Text: On 06/16/09, approximately 0938 hrs., State Troopers received a
report of an assault alleged to have occurred in Nondalton.
Sometime in the early morning hours of 6/16/09, a 53 yoa female was
flown by EMS aircraft from the village into an Anchorage hospital for
treatment of head injuries, reportedly sustained when she had been
repeatedly hit in the head with an unknown weapon. The investigation is
ongoing.

Text: On 6-23-09 at 1700 hours, Bryson STOCUM, 15 of Delta Jct., was
observed driving a 4 wheel Yamaha Blaster 200 ATV on the frontage road
in front of the Delta Courthouse. STOCUM failed to stop for a stop sign
at a nearby intersection. STOCUM was cited for two traffic infractions,
and was issued a summons, charging him with one count of No Valid
Operator’s License. STOCUM was released to his legal guardian.

Text: On 6-23-09 at 1727 hours, AST received a report that a garage /
storage building located on Nistler Rd. had been burglarized.
Investigation showed that the garage had been forcefully entered and a
yellow 2003 Skidoo Tundra snow machine had been stolen. A search of the
area culminated in the retrieval of the snow machine, which had been
hidden in a wooded area nearby. Investigation continues.

Type: Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle without a CDL
Text: On 6-24-09 at approximately 1400 hours, Sean D. Andrews 19, of
Fairbanks was stopped by Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Officers
for a roadside inspection at mile 262.5 of the Richardson Highway.
Investigation determined Andrews was driving a truck and trailer
combination over 26,000 pounds. Andrews did not have a required Class A
license for the combination. Andrews was issued a summons for driving a
commercial motor vehicle without a commercial drivers license by AST.
The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver.

Text: On 6-24-09 at approximately 1346 hours, Frank Giangrande of North
Pole reported his 1988 Chevrolet pickup was stolen from a residence in
Delta Junction. Giangrande left his vehicle at the residence in
November after having medical issues. When he went to recover the
vehicle it was not there. The value of the vehicle was estimated at
$1500.00. AST is investigating the case.

Type: Driving under the influence
Text: On 6-24-09 at approximately 0840 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report from a citizen that a person was possible driving in
Tok under the influence of alcohol. Troopers stopped and contacted
Edward D. Joe, age 42 of Tok, driving a black 1991 Chevrolet pickup near
milepost 1314 of the Alaska Highway. Investigation revealed that Joe was
driving under the influence. Joe was arrested and transported to the Tok
holding facility where he was lodged. Joe is charged with one count of
driving under the influence; he was cited for failure to show proof of
insurance.

Text: On 6-24-09 at 0746 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a
report from a residence at Donald Ave in Fairbanks that a red 2002 Honda
400EXi 4-wheeler had been stolen between midnight and 0700 hrs.
Investigation revealed that the Honda was pushed towards Donald Ave
where it was loaded onto a dually pickup truck. Additionally, the Honda
had a blue throttle grip, yellow Rock Star sticker on gas tank, red and
chrome nerf bars for feet, and black rims. The investigation is
continuing and anyone with information regarding this theft is asked to
call the Alaska State Troopers at 451-5100.

Text: On 6-22-09 at 0300 hours, Soldotna AST contacted John Wren, age
35, of Huston Texas, at Centennial Park campground after it was
discovered he drove a motor home while under the influence of alcohol.
Wren was arrested and transported to Soldotna AST for a breath test.
Wren refused to submit to the breath test. Wren was transported to WWPT
and remanded on charges of DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Text: On 06/24/09 at approximately 2355 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Bastien Drive in Nikiski.
Nobody was in the vehicle while it was burning, and the complainant who
called 911 said he did not know anything about the vehicle. The
registered owner of the vehicle was contacted and it was discovered that
the vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of the Hunger Hut
sometime after 2200 hours.
Investigation is ongoing on this case. Anyone with information is asked
to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 262-4453.

Text: On 06/23/09 at approximately 0100 hours, Tera L. Pratt, age 27 of
Kenai, was contacted during a traffic stop near the intersection of
Kalifornsky Beach Road and the Sterling Highway. Pratt was subsequently
arrested on an outstanding $500 warrant. The warrant had been issued for
failure to comply with alcohol screening.
Pratt was transported to Wildwood Pretrial Facility in Kenai and
remanded there.

Text: On 6/24/09 at approximately 0201 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted a black 1990 Chevy pickup near mile 15.0 of the Seward
Highway. The driver was identified as Jaime Doleman by his AKID. A
records check revealed Doleman was driving with a revoked license
effective 3/14/09 through 6/11/09 for DWLR. Further investigation
revealed Doleman was impaired by alcohol. Doleman was placed under
arrest, transported to the Seward City Jail, and remanded. Bail was set
at $1000.00.

Text: On 6/20/09 at approximately 1844 hours, Matthew Mooter, age 25 of
Seward, reported a theft of a gas can, fuel line, and fuel. The value
of the property was estimated at $70.00. The property was taken from
Troll Drive in Seward. The stolen property was recovered at a another
residence in Seward. Investigation is continuing.

contacted a black Chevrolet pickup near mile 15.0 of the Seward Highway.
A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Samantha McMullen, age 21
of Seward. A records check revealed McMullen had an outstanding arrest
warrant for Failure to Appear for Remand Hearing on the original charge
of Assault 4. McMullen was placed under arrest, transported to the
Seward City Jail, and remanded. Bail was set at 3 days to serve.

Text: On 6/22/09 A Cooper Landing based State Trooper responded to a
report of a Motor Vehicle Collision that occurred at 47.5 mile of the
Sterling Hwy. Investigation revealed 20 year old Patrick Arrico of Road
Island was operating a 1985 Chevy Blazer, and was stopped on the
Sterling Hwy attempting to make a left hand turn onto Bean Creek Road,
when he was rear-ended by a 1989 privately owned school bus, driven by
James Whitesell 35 yoa of Anchorage. All were reportedly wearing their
seatbelts and declined medical attention. Whitesell was issued a
citation for Failure to Exercise Due Care to Avoid a Collision.

Text: On 6/23/09 at approximately 2036 hours, Christopher Crain reported
he had some property and a handgun stolen from his residence near mile
20.0 of the Seward Highway. The theft occurred sometime between 6/21/09
and 6/23/09. The items stolen were valued at approximately $500.00.
The handgun was described as a stainless steel Smith and Wesson revolver
with wooden grips. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the
Alaska State Troopers in Crown Point at 288-3346.

Text: On 6/21/09 at approximately 1709 hours, Alaska State Troopers
stopped a maroon 1991 Toyota pickup for a moving violation near mile 8.0
of the Seward Highway. The driver was identified as Leah Newberry, age
17 of Anchorage. A records check revealed Newberry’s operator’s license
was suspended effective 10/18/08 with no ending date. Newberry was
issued a citation for Driving While License Suspended and released. The
vehicle was released to a valid driver.

Type: MVC-I, Leaving Scene of Accident, DUI
Text: On 6/20/09 at approximately 2105 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to mile 31.5 of the Seward Highway for the report of a single
vehicle crash. Witnesses on scene reported the driver had left the
scene of the crash and he was being chased by witnesses. Alaska State
Troopers contacted the driver approximately .5 miles from the crash
scene and identified the driver as Thomas Server, age 26 of
Pennsylvania. Server was uncooperative, intoxicated, and placed under
arrest. Server complained of injuries as a result of the crash and was
transported by medics to Seward Providence Medical Center for treatment.
After Server was treated at Seward Providence Medical Center, he was
remanded to the Seward City Jail on charges of Leaving the Scene of an
Accident and DUI. Bail was set at $1000.00.

Text: On 06-23-09 at approximately 0052 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers
contacted Elton L. Smith, age 53 of Newnan, GA at the Russian River
campground. Investigation revealed that Smith had two red salmon over
his limit of three. Smith was issued a citation for $150 and released at
the scene.

Text: On 6-21-09, Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted 39 year old Kenith
Velotta from Kenai while he was fishing on the Kenai river near the
Russian River Ferry. Investigation revealed Velotta had snagged a
Sockeye Salmon and failed to release the fish. Velotta was issued a
summons for failure to release a fish hooked other than in the mouth.
Bail was set at $130.00.

Text: On 06-22-09 at approximately 0101 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers
conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Pontiac Grandam at Mile 62 of the
Sterling Highway. Investigation revealed that the driver, Maverick
Reutov, age 21 of Wasilla was intoxicated. Reutov was arrested and
transported to Wildwood Pretrial where he was remanded awaiting
arraignment.

Text: On 06-21-09 at approximately 2103 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers
contacted Micheal Rink, age 52 of Anchorage on the Kenai River near
Sportmans Landing. Investigation revealed that Rink failed to release a
fish hooked elsewhere than in the mouth. Rink was issued a citation for
$130 and released at the scene.

Text: On 6/22/09, Jeffrey P. Barney, 38 yoa, of Anchorage AK,
owner/operator of Silverado Deep Sea Charters, was convicted of 20
counts of failing to comply with sport fish guide log book requirements
of Alaska Statute 16.40.280(b). He was fined $500 per count with a
cumulative fine of $10,000 with $3,500 suspended and one year probation.
He is required to commit no fish and game violations and pay all fines
on-time throughout his probation. Additionally, he was required to pay
restitution in the amount of $1,030.00 to a party of four non-resident
clients that he had continually failed to restore a refund (since
7/27/09) after failing to provide a sport fishing charter as contracted.

strict liability offense and was fine $3000 with $2000 suspended. The
undersize King Salmon was forfeited to the state and will be donated to
charity.

Text: On 6-4-09, investigators from the Dillingham WAANT Unit, with
the assistance of the Bristol Bay Borough Police Department, arrested
Casey Derrenger, age 32 of Portland, OR after an investigation concluded
that he was selling marijuana and prescription medications in the Naknek
area. Investigators seized 178 amphetamine capsules and 2.06 ounces of
marijuana. Derrenger was charged with Misconduct involvolving a
Controlled Substance in the Second Degree and Misconduct involving a
Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree. He was lodged at the King
Salmon Jail.

Text: On 6-22-09, investigators from the Dillingham WAANT Unit, with the
assistance of the Alaska State Troopers King Salmon Post and the Bristol
Bay Borough Police Department, served a search warrant on the F/V Roser,
a 32 foot fishing vessel docked at Naknek. Investigators seized 9.28
ounces of marijuana from the vessel. The vessel’s owner David Zielinski
was arrested and charged with Misconduct involving a Controlled
Substance in the Fourth Degree. He was lodged at the King Salmon Jail.
