ERWINVILLE- On June 11, 2009 at approximately 5:32 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on U.S. Hwy 190 near Erwinville.
Johnny Edwards (W/M, 38 yrs old) of Krotz Springs was operating his 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on U.S. Hwy 190, one-tenth of a mile west of LA Hwy 413. Edwards was traveling in the right lane when a 2006 Nissan Titan truck, driven by Eric Adams (W/M, 22 years old) of Batchelor, turned left in front of his motorcycle.
As Adams turned left in front of Edwards, Edwards’ motorcycle struck the right rear wheel of Adam’s truck, causing Edwards to be ejected from his motorcycle. Edwards was wearing a non-DOT approved helmet and sustained severe injuries during the crash. He was transported by Acadian Ambulance to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Alcohol use by either driver is not suspected; however, Adams submitted to a chemical breath test and the results indicated there was no detectable alcohol in his blood. Adams was not injured during the crash. He was charged with negligent injuring, improper turning and obscured windows. He was arrested and booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center.
