On May 27, 2009, an officer of the Missouri State Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop and after detecting a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle requested a search. Permission was granted and the search of the vehicle revealed 9 marijuana plants and $2,280 in cash. The traffic stop occurred on Interstate 70 at the 183-mile marker.

The driver, Quincy C. Haeberle, 27, of Littleton, CO, and passenger, Adam P. Johnson, 31, of Aurora, CO, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Haeberle and Johnson were transported to the Montgomery County Jail and will be held until bond is set.

The charges for which Haeberle and Johnson have been arrested are mere accusation and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
