Case Number: 09-41316

Type: Search and Rescue

Text: On 05/21/09, at 1743 hours, the Skagway Search and Rescue Team and
the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of an injured hiker who
had fallen approximately 100 feet near Reed Falls in Skagway.  Phil
McCaffrey, age 24 of Whitehorse, Yukon, was hiking alone when he slipped
off the trail and fell down into a shallow ravine.  Cries for help from
McCaffrey could be heard from other hikers above and below him and
Skagway PD was notified.  Searchers and EMS were able to hike to
McCaffrey who was hypothermic and had sustained multiple leg injuries.
McCaffrey was transported to Skagway for treatment of his injuries.

Case Number: 09-41902

Type: Natural Death Investigation

Text: On 05/23/09, at 1143 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to
a report of a hunter who had collapsed at a remote hunting camp on the
Chilkat River, 2 miles above Assignation Creek outside the City of
Haines.  Investigation revealed that on 5/23/09, at 1030 hours, Richard
Bradley, age 78 of Monroe, GA, had died of natural causes.  CPR was
performed on Bradley, but was unsuccessful.  Bradley’s remains were
transported by the Alaska State Troopers to Haines.  Foul play is not
suspected and next of kin has been notified.

Case Number:  09-38449
Type:  Suspicious Circumstances
Text:  On 5/12/09 Alaska State Troopers responded to a report from the
Klukwan Tribal Council that a 55 yoa male was attracting the attention
of young girls by knocking on the window from within his residence while
not wearing a shirt.  It is unknown if the male is completely nude due
to the level of the window.  AST advised the male to stop the behavior
immediately, which he agreed.

Type: Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in the First Degree

Text: On 5/20/09, AST received a report that David Davis IV, age 27 of
Juneau, was not living at his SOR listed address.  Davis was convicted
of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Third Degree in 2005 and he was also
convicted of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in the Second Degree
in 2008.  Case is under investigation.

Type: DUI, MOCA, MIW IV, Texting While Driving

Text: On 5-24-09, at 1736, Nathan B. Hickok, age 20 of Juneau was
stopped for erratic driving near Tee Harbor north of Juneau on the
Glacier Highway. Hickok stated that his erratic driving was due to
“texting while driving”. Hickok was eventually arrested for DUI, Minor
Operating a Vehicle after Consuming Alcohol, Misconduct Involving a
Weapon and Driving a Motor Vehicle with a Screen Device Operating
(texting while driving). A handgun, cell phone and alcohol were seized
during the arrest. Hickok was transported to the Lemon Creek
Correctional Center and remanded on $1,000 bail.

Text:  On 05/23/2009 at approximately 1054 hours, Alaska State Troopers
arrested Alexander Roberts, age 21, of Wasilla.  Roberts was known to
have an outstanding felony arrest warrant for Misconduct Involving a
Controlled Substance IV(x2),MICS V and MICS VI.  Roberts was located at
a residence off of Shelby Drive in Wasilla.  Roberts was arrested and
remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial with $1,000.00 bail.

Location: Houston
Case number: 09-41806
Type: Felony DUI, DWLR, Violating Conditions Of Release
Text: On 5/23/2009 at approximately 0300 hours Alaska State Troopers
responded to Little Susitna Campground in Houston for a report of gun
shots being fired. During the investigation AST stopped a 1985 brown
Chevy truck bearing Alaska license plate 2973CE  that was being driven
by Allen Walker ( 48 yoa of Houston). Investigation revealed that Walker
was driving while impaired and under the influence, driving while his
license was revoked and was violating conditions of release by consuming
alcohol. Further investigation revealed that Walker had been convicted
of two prior DUI’s in the past 10 years making the offense a felony.
Walker was arrested and booked at Mat Su Pre Trial Facility on the
charges of Felony DUI, DWLR and Violating conditions of release.
Walker’s bail was set at $5,000 cash corporate with court approved 3rd
party custodian. The vehicle was release on scene to the registered
owner.

Type: DWLR
Text:  On 05-22-09 at approximately 1937 hours, Alaska State Troopers
arrested Richard David Faulk age 31 of Wasilla.  Faulk was contacted for
an equipment violation while driving his vehicle near Lucille Road in
Wasilla.  Investigation revealed Faulk was driving while his driver’s
license was revoked.  Faulk was arrested for Driving While License
Revoked and was transported to MSPT where he was remanded into custody
on $250.00 bail.

Type: MVC-I

Text: On 5-24-09 at approximately 0908 hours, AST responded to a MVC at
mile 15 of the Old Glenn HWY. Investigation revealed George Sherwood,
age 26, of Palmer, was traveling southbound on the Old Glenn Highway, in
a white 1995 Infiniti Q45, when he lost control, ran off the road and
rolled his vehicle. Sherwood was wearing his seatbelt and suffered minor
injuries during the collision. Sherwood was transported to MSRMC by
private vehicle. Sherwood’s vehicle was totaled. Sherwood was cited for
Basic Speed.

Type: Burglary in the First Degree
Text:  On 05/24/2008, at approximately 1700 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a Burglary on Twin Lakes Road in Sutton.
Investigation revealed suspects forced entry into the cabin and stole
food and alcohol. A green pick-up truck was seen in the area. The
investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to

745-3333.

Text:  On 05/24/2009, at approximately 1313 hours, Alaska State Troopers
conducted a traffic stop on a red Toyota Carolla for license plate
improperly attached/displayed on the Glenn Highway at Soapstone Road in
Palmer. Investigation revealed Nichole Millsaps, age 25, of Wasilla, was
operating her vehicle with a Revoked License. Millsaps was issued a
citation for DWLR and released on scene.

Type: Assault 3, MCA
Text: On 5-20-09 the Alaska State Troopers in King Salmon received a
report of an assault that had occurred in the village of Igiugig.
Troopers responded to the village and the investigation revealed that
Charley Apokedak, age 20 of Levelock had assaulted Gordon Hester, age 18
of Iliamna. Investigation also revealed that both Hester and Apokedak
had been drinking alcohol while under the age of 21. Charley Apokedak
was arrested for assault in the third degree and was transported back to
King Salmon where he was remanded and held on a $500 bail.

Type: Assault III x 2

Text: On 5-24-09 at approximately 0540 hours, Kotzebue Troopers received
a report of a disturbance in the village of Ambler.  Investigation
determined that Isaac Russell, 54, of Ambler manipulated a knife while
intoxicated which placed in a family member and a village elder in fear.
Russell was later arrested without incident and transported to Kotzebue
Regional Jail with no bail pending arraignment.

Type: Criminal Mischief III, Reckless Endangerment

Text: On 5-24-09 at approximately 1508 hours, Kotzebue Troopers received
a report of a disturbance in the village of Noatak.  Investigation
determined that Walter Swan, 20, formerly of Kivalina was angry and
destroyed a Sony Playstation 3 game console by throwing it onto the
floor.  During the incident, a 10 year old toddler was in the vicinity
during the incident and became scared.  Swan was subsequently arrested
without incident and transported to Kotzebue Regional Jail with no bail
pending arraignment.  Damage to the Playstation 3 is estimated at
approximately $500.00.  Alcohol was not a factor during the incident.

Type: DUI, REDDI Report, Endangering Welfare of Child 1st degree

Text: On 05-24-09 at 1133 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report
of a possible intoxicated driver North bound on the Parks Highway.
RUSSELL MOSES, age 32 of Seward was subsequently contacted for a traffic
violation. MOSES had a breath alcohol content of .253%. Three children
were also in the vehicle, ages five, three, and one. MOSES was
transported to and remanded at FCC where he was held with no bail.

Type: Assault 4- domestic violence & Interfering with a report of a
crime involving domestic violence, and Criminal Mischief 3.

Text:  On 5/24/2009 at 1614 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a
911 call to a Fairbanks residence.  Konrad Willi Bolz, age 40 of
Fairbanks was arrested for assaulting his wife, driving his truck into a
barn on his property, and for not allowing his wife to contact the
troopers.  Bolz was charged with assault 4, criminal mischief 3, and
interfering with a report of a crime involving domestic violence.

Location: Anchor Point

Case number: 09-41382

Type: DUI, Assault III

Text: On 5/21/09 at approximately 2300 hours, AST received a report of a
possibly intoxicated driver whose gray pickup was stuck in the ditch at
Whiskey Gulch Road and the Sterling Highway in Anchor Point.  The
vehicle was pulled out of the ditch and AST conducted a traffic stop on
the gray 1999 Chevy pickup at approximately mile154 Sterling Highway for
a moving violation and based on the REDDI report.  The driver was
identified as Dellan Vanbuskirk, age 23 of Anchor Point.  Investigation
revealed Vanbuskirk was intoxicated and he had threatened three people
with a baseball bat when he got his vehicle stuck because they wouldn’t
help him get the vehicle out.  Vanbuskirk was arrested for DUI and two
counts of Assault III and was remanded to Homer jail without bail.

Text: On 5/24/09 at approximately 0145 hrs, AST contacted Erick D.
Morris, age 20 of Sterling, as a passenger in a vehicle stopped on
Feuding Lane in Sterling.  Erick Morris was found to have been consuming
alcohol and issued a USC for Minor Consuming Alcohol.

Text: on 5-24-09, Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted 17 year old Oleg
Misyuk while he was fishing on Kasilof Beach.  Investigation revealed
Misyuk did not have a valid 2009 Alaska sport fishing license in his
possession.  Misyuk was issued a summons for sport fishing without his
valid 2009 Alaska sport fishing license in his possession.  Bail was set
at $210.00.

Text: On 5/22/09 at approximately 2330 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers
pulled over Demerriel Morse, of Anchorage for diving without his
headlights after dark. A check on MORSE’S license showed he was revoked
until July 2009 for failure to maintain liability insurance. MORSE was
issued a summons to appear in court. MORSE was also issued a $510
citation for failure to show proof of insurance. MORSE’S vehicle was
released to a licensed driver.

Type: Unlawful Possession/ Transportation x 2
Text: On 05-22-09, Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Michael Q. Forss, age
18 of Wasilla, on two counts of Unlawful Possession/ Transportation of
Game.  Investigation revealed that in September of 2008, Forss assisted
in the transportation of a sublegal Dall Ram and a sublegal Bull Moose
taken by others in his hunting party near Gakona, and ultimately
received and possessed some of the meat of both animals.  Arraignment is
set for 07-07-09 in Glennallen Court.

Text: On 5-23-09, Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Nathan E. Cole, age
24 of Houston, while he was sport fishing the flowing waters of Nancy
Lake Creek.  Investigation revealed Cole was fishing closed waters that
are within the Palmer-Wasilla Zone and only open from June 15th- April
14th.  Bail is set at $110.

Type: Operating a Motor Vehicle in an Anadromous Stream without a
Permit, Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance

Text: On 5/23/09 at approximately 1612 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers
responded to a report of a pickup truck being driven in the Kashwitna
River.  Troopers observed a Grey 2002 Dodge Pickup driving in the river
and contacted driver William J. Kost age 34 of Anchorage.  Investigation
revealed that Kost had been operating his pickup in the Kashwitna River
illegally.  Kost was issued a summons to appear in court and released.
Kost was also issued a citation for failing to provide proof of
insurance.

Text:  On 5/22/2009 at approximately 1845 hours the AST Bureau of
Highway Patrol, South Central Team stopped a vehicle on the Seward
Highway near mile 73 for a moving violation.  The driver of the vehicle,
Preston Perkins, age 22 of Palmer, was found to be driving on a revoked
driver’s license.  Perkins was issued a Summons for DWLR and released at
the scene.

Text: On 5/23/09 at approximately 1310 hours, the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team, stopped a vehicle near mile 64 of the Seward
Highway for speeding.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as James
Thompson, age 22, of Anchorage.  Investigation revealed Thompson was in
possesion of marijuana.  Thompson was issued a misdemeanor citation to
appear in court at a later date and released on scene.

Text:  On 5/23/2009 at approximately 1923 hours the AST Bureau of
Highway Patrol, South Central Team stopped a vehicle on the Seward
Highway near mile 73 for a moving violation and numerous REDDI reports
(Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately).  The driver of the vehicle,
Willie Goodwin, age 29, of Eagle River, was found to be driving under
the influence of alcohol.  Goodwin was arrested for DUI and remanded to
the Anchorage Jail on $20,000 cash only bail and Court Approved Third
Party.

Text: On 5/23/09 at approximately 2058 hours the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team stopped a vehicle near mile 81 of the Parks
Hwy. for a moving violation.  The operator was identified as Jagyvut
Getgasorn, age 49, of Anchorage.  Getgasorn was found to be operating
the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for DUI.
Getgasorn was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held
on a $500.00 bail.

Text:  On 5/23/09 at approximately 2031 hours the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team stopped a vehicle near Mile 89 Parks Hwy.
outside Willow for a moving violation.  The operator was identified as
Alejandro Orozco, age 19, of Anchorage.  Orozco had an oustanding $250
Anchorage Police Department warrant for driving without insurance.
Orozco was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-trial Facility for the
warrant.
