Tompkins County, New York – Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident Investigation

On 05/02/09, at approximately 11:50 PM. deputies responded to a one-car motor-vehicle accident located within the 100 block of Lafayette Road, in the Town of Groton.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Timothy D. Neal, age 33, was operating a vehicle north on Lafayette Road when it travelled off of the roadway and overturned. Passengers in the vehicle were Melissa I. Marshall, age 33, Shaun D. Kullman, age 24, and Matthew McKane, age 27. McKane was transported to Lourdes Hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of blunt head trauma. Neal was transported to Wilson Memorial and Marshall to Upstate Medical Center for treatment.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing.
