On May 6, Vanguard High School’s Navy Junior ROTC students will visit the Marion County Sheriff’s Office obstacle course. Approximately 40-50 students will receive training from the Special Weapons and Tactics team from 1-4p.m.
During the training, students will get hands-on experience in confidence building drills, such as rappelling off the 80-foot tower in the obstacle course. As leaders in law enforcement, MCSO specialty unit members hope to foster an appreciation and develop a desire in the students to be a part of the community service field. At the end of the day, students will test their skills by competing against seasoned SWAT team members.
Media is welcome to attend this event.
