Gheens- A Raceland man was killed after being ejected this morning after the vehicle he was driving went off the roadway and overturned in the community of Gheens, LA in Lafourche Parish.

A 2004 Ford F150 was westbound on LA 654 in a left-banking curve when its driver drove off the roadway to the right. The vehicle struck a ditch, overturned, and came to rest upside down. The driver, Ryan Rybiski (W/M, 24, of Raceland, LA), was totally ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office.

Drug and alcohol use are unknown at this time pending analysis from the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. The seat belt was buckled on the driver’s seat; however, Rybiski sat on top of the seat belt providing Rybiski no restraint in the crash. This crash occurred on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at approximately 8:25 AM. Tpr. Jesse Lagrange is continuing his investigation.
