Text: On 4/16/09, at 1450 hours, Curtis Lane, age 25 of Angoon, was
charged with Driving Without a Valid License. Lane was initially
stopped by the Angoon VPSO for excessive speed. Lane was issued a
summons for NVOL and he was also issued citations for Basic Speed and No
Proof of Insurance.

Text: On 4/17/09, at 1240 hours, Sterling Bolima, age 35 of Seattle, WA,
was charged with Driving With a Revoked Operators License. Bolima was
initially stopped for not wearing his seatbelt. Bolima was issued a
summons for DWROL and a citation for Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.

Text: On 04-17-09 Alaska State Troopers responded to an address near
Copper Creek Road in Wasilla for the report of a disturbance.
Investigation revealed that Charles Joseph Uhyrek age 50 of Wasilla, was
wanted for an outstanding Arrest Warrant for Failure to Appear for
Arraignment on the original charge of Driving While License Cancelled
Suspended or Revoked. Uhyrek was arrested and was transported to the
Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was remanded into custody on $5000.00

Text: On 04-17-09 Alaska State Troopers contacted a vehicle traveling on
Iliamna Drive in Wasilla for a minor traffic violation. Investigation
revealed that the driver, Patrick Dwayne Weston age 31 of Wasilla, was
driving while his license was suspended. Weston was issued a summons to
appear in court for Driving While License Suspended and was released.
His vehicle was released to a friend with a valid driver’s license.

Type: Attempted Burglary 1 and Criminal Mischief 4th
Text: On 04/18/2009, at approximately 0110 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a burglary at a residence off Spruce Rd. near
Wasilla. Investigation revealed that between 0100 and 0110 hours, three
individuals entered a residence using flashlights and attempted to steal
some items. Damage to the door was estimated at $300. Investigation

Text: On 4-18-09 at approximately 0412 hours Alaska State Troopers
contacted James R. Christianson, age 26 of Wasilla, as the driver of a
2006 silver GMC truck during a traffic stop on Spruce Avenue near
Wasilla Fishhook Road. Investigation revealed that Christianson was
operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Investigation
also revealed that Samuel J. Hubbard, age 22 of Wasilla, who was a
passenger in the vehicle had violated his probation by consuming
alcohol. Both men were arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial
where they were remanded into custody. Christianson is being held on
$1,000.00 bail. Hubbard is being held on no bail.

Type: Driving While License Revoked / Warrant Arrest
Text: On 04/18/2009 at approximately 0001 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted William R. Dickerson, age 34 of Wasilla on Highcrest Drive,
Wasilla. Investigation revealed that W. Dickerson was operating a 1995
Grey Ford F-150 with a Revoked driver’s license. Further Investigation
revealed that W. Dickerson had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
W. Dickerson’s warrants were for FTA for ASAP hearing on the original
charge of DUI/DWLR and a second warrant for Contempt of Court for ASAP
on the original charge of DUI. W. Dickerson was arrested at the scene
and transported to MSPT where he was remanded on $250 cash bail for DWLR
and $1500 C/C bail for the outstanding warrants.

Text: On 4/18/2009 at 0430 hours, Alaska State Troopers arrested Michael
B. Pickens, age 23, of Anchorage for DUI. Pickens was contacted as the
driver of a vehicle involved in a single vehicle accident near the Parks
Highway and Hyer Road in Palmer. Investigation revealed that Pickens
was driving his 1989 Nissan pickup southbound on the Parks Highway while
impaired and under the influence of alcohol. Pickens lost control of
his vehicle and crossed both the southbound and northbound lanes,
striking both guardrails and rolling over. Pickens reported that he was
not wearing his seatbelt during the time of the collision and the
vehicle was totaled. Pickens was transported by EMS to Mat-Su Regional
Medical Center for treatment. After he was discharged he was arrested
by AST and transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.
Bail was set at $500 Unsecured Bond and release when sober.

Text: On 4-18-2009 at approximately 0839 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to report of a single vehicle collision on the Parks Hwy and
N. Meadow Lakes Loop in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Bradley
Denning, age 21 of Big Lake, was traveling north in his 1999 Toyota
Camry on the Parks Hwy, when he fell asleep behind the wheel. Denning’s
vehicle left the roadway and went into the ditch, colliding with the
embankment. Denning and his child reported no injuries and were wearing
their seatbelts at the time of the collision. The damage to Denning’s
vehicle was estimated to be approximately $2000.00. Denning was cited
for Negligent Driving.

Text: On 4-17-09, at 1245 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a
report of an accidental death due to a skiing accident in Valdez, 6
miles in from MI 29 of the Richardson Hwy. Investigation revealed Herve
Mazieres, 32 yoa, of France, was skiing down a steep embankment when he
lost control and tumbled down the embankment. Mazieres was fatally
injured in the accident. Next of kin has been notified and the SME was
contacted. No foul play is suspected. The investigation is ongoing.

Type: Accidental Death
Text: On 4-18-09 at approximately 1245 hours, Alaska State Troopers and
Valdez Fire Department received a report of a snow machiner being caught
in a Avalanche at Thompson Pass. Investigation revealed that the
snowmachiner, identified as Jordan D. Williams, age 27, of Anchorage,
was riding his snow machine in Niches Valley located at Thompson Pass
near mile 31 of the Richardson Hwy approximately, =BC mile off the road.
Jordan Williams was climbing a hill when the Avalanche started. Jordan
Williams then turned and started heading back down the hill. Jordan
Williams was overtaken and buried by the Avalanche. Valdez Snow machine
Search and Rescue Club along with Valdez Fire Department responded
immediately. A line search was formed and Jordan Williams was located
approximately 12-15 feet under the snow with his snow machine on top of
him. When Jordan Williams was recovered at approximately 1315 hours he
was unconscious. CPR was started while Jordan Williams was transported
to Valdez Hospital by Back Country Adventure’s Helicopter.
Jordan Williams was pronounced dead at approximately 1403 hours at
Valdez Hospital. Investigation is continuing.

Text: On 4/18/09, at 1400 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted Jerome
Williams, 21 of St. Mary’s at a local business. Subsequent
investigation revealed that Williams was intoxicated while operating a
snow machine. Williams was arrested and charged with Driving Under the
Influence. Williams was transported to Bethel and remanded to the Yukon
Kuskokwim Correctional Center.

Text: On 4/15/09 at approximately 1631 hours, the AST St. Mary’s Post
received an anonymous report of an intoxicated male subject creating a
disturbance at the safe water building in Pitka’s Point. Investigation
revealed Thomas N. Hart Jr., age 37, of St. Mary’s and Eric M. Paukan,
age 36, of St. Mary’s, were in physical possession of a small amount of
marijuana and alcohol. Hart Jr. and Paukan were also on probation and
not to possess alcohol or controlled substances. Charges have been
forwarded to the DA’s Office.

Text: On 4-18-09 at 0412 hours, Ashley Allison Nelund, 23 of Kenai, was
arrested for DUI and failure to carry Liability Insurance after she was
stopped by Alaska State Troopers for a traffic violation near the
intersection of Bridge Access and Frontage Road in Kenai. Nelund was
remanded at the Wildwood Pretrial Facility with a $750.00 bail.
