Christopher B. Sands, a former employee of the Subway restaurant at 165 East Main Street, Newark, has been charged with two crimes related to the business. Just before 1:00 a.m. on March 6, Sands used his employee key to enter the Subway and deactivate the alarm. He removed $300 cash from the business, then secured the store and left. Sands was arrested on the same day and was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft. He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Facility in default of $1500 bond.
