Case number: 09-16113

Type: MVC – Fatal

Text: On 2-27-2009 at approximately 0150 the Ketchikan AST responded to
a single vehicle rollover at approximately 10.6 mile of the N. Tongass
Hwy. Investigation revealed that Kenneth Parker, age 54 of Ketchikan,
was operating his 1997 Ford pickup northbound on the highway when he
drove off the roadway and his vehicle rolled and came to a rest on its
hood. Parker was transported to the Ketchikan General Hospital and was
pronounced dead shortly after arrival. It is unknown at this time if
Parker was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision. It is
also unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor in the collision. The
Medical examiner has released the body and next of kin has been
notified. This case is still under investigation.

Type: Hindering Prosecution I
Text: On 02-26-09, at approximately 1800 hours, Alaska State Troopers
arrested Jasmine Gray, age 25 of Wasilla, for Hindering Prosecution I
after Troopers responded to her residence at 5930 E. Pilgrim Crt. #4 to
serve several felony arrest warrants on her boyfriend, Morgan Jett, age
23 of Wasilla. Jett was later found hiding in the craw space of the
residence. Gray was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Bail was
set at $2500 cash corporate.

Case number: 09-16052
Type: DWLS
Text: On 02-26-2009 at approximately 2043 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Andrew Scott Bates, age 22 of Wasilla, on a traffic stop at
the Parks and Glenn Highway interchange, near Palmer. Bates was
operating a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer southbound on the Glenn Highway when
he was stopped for speeding. Investigation revealed that Bates was
operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Bates was subsequently
issued a summons for DWLS and was released at the scene.

Case number: 09-16103
Type: DUI, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test
Text: On 02-26-2009, at 2300 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted
the driver of a vehicle at an address on East Kiva Way in Palmer after
receiving a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) report.
Investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle, Amanda J. Patterson,
age 29, of Eagle River was found to be operating the vehicle while
impaired and under the influence of alcohol. Patterson was also charged
with refusal to submit to a chemical test. Patterson was arrested,
transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. Bail was set
at $500.00.

Type: Warrant Arrest
Text: On 02/26/09 at approximately 1915 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Matthew Chenier, age 19, of Palmer at his residence on Anaheim
Drive in Palmer. Investigation revealed that Chenier had two
outstanding warrants for $200.00 each. The first warrant was for
failure to appear on the original charge of Minor Consuming Alcohol and
the second for Driving without a Valid Operators License. Chenier was
arrested and transported to Mat Su Pretrial where he was remanded.

Case number: 09-16117
Type: MVC-D / Leaving The Scene of an Accident.
Text: On 2/27/09 at approximately 0448 hours, State Troopers responded
to the Butte Elementary School, Palmer for the report of a hit and run.
Investigation revealed that an unidentified driver was traveling South
on South Butte Road drove through a locked gate and over a chain link
fence. Damage to the gate as well as the fence was estimated at
$1,500.00. The driver fled the scene prior to AST’s arrival. Vehicle
parts located on scene have determined the vehicle may be a 2006-2009
Chevy Impala with damage to the right front side of the vehicle. Any
person with information regarding this case is urged to contact AST at
745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

Type: Warrant Arrest

Text: On 2-26-09 at 1533 hours, AST in Palmer arrested Morgan Jett, age
23, of Wasilla on 2 outstanding ‘No Bail’ Felony Arrest Warrants for
probation violations stemming from a MICS 4 conviction and failure to
comply with his probation. He was also arrested on an outstanding
$1000.00 misdemeanor warrant for Assault 4th. Jett was contacted at a
residence off Pilgrim Court in Wasilla after a lengthy search of the
buildings crawlspace by AST K-9 Roelle and patrol units. Jett was taken
into custody without further incident and remanded to MatSu Pretrial
Facility.

Type: Bench Warrant, for Failure to Report to Jail, Original Charge of
Assault 3, Theft 3, and Assault 4.
Text: On 2/27/2009, at approximately 1021 hours, William Robinson, age
53 of Wasilla, was contacted and arrested by a Court Services Officer at
the Palmer Court House and remanded on the Palmer warrant. Bail was set
at No Bail, serve 100 days.

Location: Talkeetna
Case number: 09-16281
Type: Motor Vehicle Crash, DWLR, Warrant Arrest
Text: On 2/27/09 at approximately 1442 hours, Talkeetna AST responded to
a report of a two vehicle crash at Mile 11.5 Talkeetna Spur Highway.
Subsequent investigation revealed that a 1985 Toyota pickup, driven by
Cortni Ruth, 31 of Talkeetna, was doing a 3-point turn on the highway
when her vehicle was hit by a 1999 Chevrolet Astro Van being driven by
Susan Halseth, 39 of Willow. Both Ruth and Halseth were wearing their
seatbelts and were not injured. Investigation also revealed that Ruth
had a revoked AK drivers license and also had an outstanding $1,000.00
AST warrant for her arrest, original charge of DWLR. Ruth was arrested
for DWLR and the warrant and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where she
was remanded on the $1,000 warrant and another $1,000.00 for the DWLR
charge. Ruth’s vehicle sustained approximately $500.00 in damage and
was driven from the scene by a licensed driver; Halseth’s vehicle
sustained approximately $2,000.00 in damage and was towed from the
scene. Ruth was also issued multiple traffic citations.

Type: Burglary I, Theft II, Criminal Mischief IV
Text: On 02-26-09 at approximately 1726 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to an address near Fairview Loop Road in Wasilla, for the
report of a burglary. Investigation revealed one or more suspects broke
into the victims’ residence and stole numerous items. Among those items
stolen were several firearms. Anyone with any information about this
crime is requested to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 745-2131 or
Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

Type: Burglary 2, Theft, Criminal Mischief

Text: On 2/22/09, Alaska State Troopers in Kotzebue were contacted by
representatives of the Ambler School who reported their school had been
broken into and vandalized. Items from the school’s concession stand
were also stolen. Anyone with information regarding the burglary or the
identity of the responsible person(s) is asked to contact State Troopers

Type: Assault 4 – D.V.

Text: On 2/21/09, State Troopers received a report of a domestic
violence assault in the village of Selawik. State Troopers have
identified the suspect and are continuing to investigate the matter.
The victim sustained minor injuries which did not require medical
attention. Alcohol was involved with this incident.

Case Number: 09-15996

Type: Theft IV x 3

Text: On 2/24/09 at 1200 hours, the M&H grocery store manager in
Koliganek, reported to the VPSO in Koliganek that 20-year-old Gusty
Wassily Jr. of Clarks Point took three boxes of ammunition on three
different dates and did not pay for the boxes of ammunition.
Investigation revealed that Wassily Jr. took three boxes of ammunition
from the store on three different dates. Wassily then returned the three
boxes of ammunition wanting cash back. The store employees permitted
Wassily Jr. to return the boxes of ammunition and gave Wassily cash
back. The three incidents are still under investigation.

Case Number: 09-15526

Type: DVRO Violation

Text: On 2/25/09 at 0845 hours, the VPSO in Manokotak received a report
from a citizen that 28-year-old Steven Whitley Jr. of Manokotak entered
a residence he was court ordered to stay away from. Investigation
revealed that a protective order was issued and served to Whitley.
Whitley was arrested and remanded to the Dillingham Jail.

Location: New Stuyahok

Case Number: 09-14360

Type: DUI, Resisting Arrest

Text: On 2/20/09 at 1930 hours, the Alaska State Troopers and VPSO in
New Stuyahok received a REDDI report that 22-year-old James C. Andrew of
New Stuyahok was operating his ATV while intoxicated. Investigation
revealed that Andrew operated his ATV while intoxicated after he was
observed by two VPSOs and a Trooper attempting to start his ATV while it
was parked on the Nushagak River. Andrew was placed under arrest for DUI
and physically resisted arrest. Andrew was remanded to the Dillingham
Jail charged with DUI and Resisting Arrest.

Type: Assault in the third degree warrant arrest

Text: On 2/25/09 at approximately 1100 hours, Verne Iyatunguk, 21 yoa of
Shishmaref, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Assault III. The
investigation revealed that Iyantunguk had pointed a gun at another
resident of Shishmaref. Alcohol was a factor. No injuries were
reported.

Type: Search and Rescue

Text: On 2/25/09 at approximately 1600 hours, the Alaska State Troopers
received a report that Francis Kakoona, 61 yoa of Shishmaref, was
involved in a snow machine accident approximately 30 miles Southeast of
Shishmaref. Kakoona was in need of medical treatment. A hasty team
along with health aids responded to the cabin where Kakoona had been
waiting. Due to a severe ground storm, the hasty team, health aids and
Kakoona were forced to remain in the cabin overnight. Kakoona sustained
injuries and was stabilized by health aides. After consulting with
Doctors at Norton Sound Regional Hospital it was determined that Kakoona
would be transported to Shishmaref via snow machine. Searchers and
Kakoona arrived safely in Shishmaref.

Type: Search and Rescue

Text: On 2/25/09 at approximately 1830 hours, the Alaska State Troopers
received a report that Bertha Barr, 26 yoa and Martin Komok, 26 yoa and
their 3 year old daughter, all from Brevig Mission, were overdue. Barr
and Komok had taken their daughter to the store in Teller via
fourwheeler. While returning to Brevig Mission from Teller the
travelers were caught in a ground storm. A hasty team from Brevig
Mission was sent and located Barr, Komok, and their daughter on foot two
miles from Brevig Mission. Their fourwheeler became stuck and they were
trying to get back to the village. No injuries were reported.

Type: DV Assault IV / DV Criminal Mischief IV
Text: On 2/25/2009 at 1800 hrs AST received a 911 call reporting
domestic disturbance at 1078 Aztec Rd. AST investigation revealed
Kenneth Fletcher, age 26, had assaulted his wife and caused damage to
her vehicle. The couples 2 y/o child was located inside the vehicle
where the assault occurred. Fletcher was arrested for DV Assault IV and
DV Criminal Mischief IV

Type: Driving While License Suspended / No Insurance

Text: On 02-26-09 at 0905 hours, Troopers contacted Craig BURNHAM, 22
of Healy, near mile 251 of the Parks Highway because BURNHAM was driving
on a suspended license. BURNHAM received a summons for Driving While
License Suspended and a summons for not having insurance. The vehicle
was impounded. Investigation complete.

Location: Delta Junction

Case number: 09-15730

Type: MVC – Injury

Text: On 2-25-09 at 1922 hours, AST Dispatch received a third party
report of a single vehicle collision somewhere between Delta Jct. and
Fairbanks with unknown injuries. Delta AST and Delta EMS responded
north from Delta Jct. and located a single vehicle rollover at MP 292.3
Richardson Highway. The driver, Norma C. (Carol) HAND, 61 of Copper
Center, had injured her back during the rollover and had to be
extricated by Delta EMS. HAND was later transported by medivac to
Fairbanks Memorial Hospital from Allen Army Airfield. HAND’s vehicle, a
1994 Ford Explorer, was traveling at about 45 MPH when it spun out of
control due to black ice conditions. The Explorer flipped over
completely, coming to rest wheels down about 20 feet off the roadway
edge. No enforcement action was taken. Alcohol was not a factor.

Type: DWROL
Text: On 2/26/09 at 2052 hours AST received a report of a male in the
driveway of a private residence on Chena Hot Springs Rd causing a
disturbance. The man left the driveway in his pick-up and was contacted
by AST. The man was identified as Robert L. Roman, age 57 of North Pole.
AST records revealed Roman’s OL had been revoked for life. He was
arrested for driving with a revoked OL and taken to FCC, where he was
held on $1,000 bail.

Case number: 09-16033

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

Text: On 2-26-09, at approximately 1848 hours, AST received a report of
an accident on the Steese Expressway near Hagelbarger Road. Jean
Lemieux age 49 of Fairbanks was traveling north bound on the Steese
Expressway when he lost control of his 1999 Ford pickup truck and went
into the ditch. The vehicle came to rest on its top with all wheels in
the air. No injuries were reported and all occupants were wearing their
seatbelts.

Text: On 2-26-09, at approximately 1821 Hours, AST conducted a traffic
stop on a red 2001 Ford Pickup truck. The driver, Kory Knabe age 24 of
Fairbanks, was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license.

Type: MVC with injuries

Text: On 2-26-09, at approximately 1729 hours, AST received a report of
a collision involving multiple vehicles on the Johansen Expressway near
University Avenue. Investigation revealed that Taleesa Tribble age 23
of Fairbanks was westbound on the Johansen Expressway when she attempted
to slow down and stop. Taleesa was unable to stop before colliding with
a red GMC pickup. After the collision, Taleesa’s vehicle spun around
and was struck by George Gordon age 69 of Fairbanks. Both vehicle
sustained heavy damage and Taleesa was transported to FMH by EMS. The
driver of the red GMC left the scene and was not identified.

Type: Misconduct Weapons V
Text: On 2/27/09 at 1941 hours, Soldotna AST stopped a 1996 Dodge pickup
near Mile 24 of the Kenai Spur Highway for an equipment violation. The
driver of the vehicle was identified as 22 year old Beau Broussard of
Nikiski. Subsequent investigation found Broussard was in possession of
a concealed firearm and failed to immediately notify law enforcement of
the firearm upon contact. Broussard was issued a summons to court and
released.

Text: On 2-26-09 Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a summons to 59 year
old Morey E. Denton of Nikiski for trapping marten after the marten
trapping season had closed. Arraignment is schedule for March 20, 2009
in District Court of Kenai.
