January 29, 2008 – Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at Bay Area Boulevard and Moon Rock about 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 28).
The victim, a female pedestrian, 38, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. R. Sorge and Officer J. Mushinski reported:
The female driver of a red Chevrolet Suburban was traveling westbound on Bay Area Boulevard when she struck the victim, who was crossing northbound at the northwest part of the intersection of Moon Rock. The intersection had no pedestrian crosswalks.
Further investigation determined the victim was legally blind and was following her daughter who had just run across the intersection.
The investigation is continuing.
