Text: On 1/22/2009 at approximately 2100 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Ketchikan arrested 33 year old Eugene V. Estes III of Ketchikan at a
local residence.  Estes was wanted for an outstanding no bail warrant
for Failure to Complete Community Work Service in lieu of three days of
jail, original charge of Theft IV.  Estes was remanded at the Ketchikan
Correctional Center where he will be held to serve his jail time.

Type: Warrant Arrest / Driving While License Revoked
Text: On 01-21-09 at about 1700 hours, Alaska State Troopers arrested
Mark Metcalf, 40 yoa, of Wasilla, at Bogard Rd and Willaway Rd in
Wasilla on an outstanding arrest warrant and Driving While License
Revoked.  Metcalf was contacted when the vehicle he was driving was
stopped for an inoperative headlight.  Metcalf was arrested on a $1,000
warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of Criminal
Trespass 1. Metcalf was transported to Mat-Su pretrial where he was
remanded with total bail set at $1,500.

Type:  NVOL
Text: On 01-22-09 at approxomately 1300 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted John W. Lally age 52 of Wasilla was for driving a vehicle
without a front bumper or license plate near Day Road and Parks Highway.
Investigation revealed Lally did not have a valid drivers license.  He
was issued a USC for NVOL.

Type: DWLS
Text: On 01-22-2009 at approximately 2150 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Laura Lynn Carp, age 32 of Wasilla, on a traffic stop at Parks
Highway and Deskas St, in Wasilla. Carp was operating a 1999 GMC Yukon
southbound on the Parks Highway when she was stopped for erratic
driving. Investigation revealed that Carp was operating the vehicle with
a suspended license. Carp was subsequently issued a summons for DWLS and
was released at the scene.

Type: Warrant Arrest
Text: On 01-22-09 at approximately 1505 hours, Alaska State Troopers
arrested Barry Dale Summers age 43 of Palmer. Summers was contacted at
his residence after Troopers learned there was an Arrest Warrant issued
for his arrest. Summers was arrested for Failure to Appear, on the
original charge of Assault IV involving Domestic Violence. Summers was
transported to MSPT where he was remanded into custody on $1000.00 bail.

Type: Arrest Warrant

Text: On 1-22-09, at about 1255 hours, VPSO Chris Alexie of Kipnuk
arrested Gabriel Stone 43 yoa of Atmautluak in the village of Kipnuk on
two seperate warrants.  One warrant for sexual assault in the second
degree and sexual assault in the third degree. Bail on this warrant was
set at $5,000.00.  The second warrant was for failure to register as a
sex offender in the second degree. Bail on this warrant was set at “no
bail”.  Stone was transported to Bethel and lodged at YKCC.

Location: Iliamna

Case number: 09-5905

Type: Assault 3, Assault 4, Failure to stop at the direction of a police
officer 1st, Escape 2, Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, DUI and
Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.

Text: On 1/22/09 at approximately 0130 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers
received a complaint of a possible assault at a residence in Iliamna,
Alaska.  As the Trooper responded to the call, Peter Rychnovsky, age 23
of Newhalen, was contacted along the roadway and he fled with two
occupants on the back of a four-wheeler that Rychnovsky was driving.  As
Rychnovsky fled one of the occupants was thrown off the four-wheeler
causing him to be slightly injured.  Rychnovsky also almost hit the
trooper as he passed by on the four-wheeler during the initial attempted
stop.  Rychnovsky was later contacted at a residence where he was hiding
in a closet.  He was arrested for two counts of Assault 3rd degree,
Failure to stop at the Direction of a Police Officer 1st degree,
Resisting Arrest, Reckless Driving and Reckless Endangerment, as well as
he was suspected of having driven while intoxicated. Rychnovsky was
transported to the Iliamna Post where he was being held and monitored by
a temporary jail guard as the trooper left the building to continue the
investigation. After the trooper left, Rychnovsky overpowered the jail
guard and fled the post on foot and is currently not in custody.  AST
Iliamna is assisting with the search for Rychnovsky.  Additional charges
to include Escape 2nd degree and Assault 4th will be filed against
Rychnovsky. An arrest warrant has been applied for through the Naknek
court and additional charges are pending against the two other parties
involved.

Type: Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree
 
Text:  On 1.18.09 at 1525 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Dillingham
received a report of an incident of sexual abuse of a minor.  The victim
resides in the Bristol Bay area, but preliminary investigation revealed
the abuse occurred in Anchorage approximately three years ago.  The
incident is under investigation.

Type: Warrant Arrest
Text: On 1/20/09 at approximately 1630 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to the Kodiak Library for a tip that Robert Locke who was
wanted for an outstanding warrant was at the library.  Troopers located
Robert Locke at the Kodiak Library and arrested him for the outstanding
warrant for Failure to Appear to court for an original charge of
Criminal Trespass II.  Locke was remanded to Kodiak Police Department
Jail where bail was set at $100 cash only.

Type: MVC
Text: On 1/20/09 at approximately 1528 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a motor vehicle rollover near Aviation Hill and Rezanof
Drive in Kodiak.  Investigation revealed that Rebecca Meacham, age 41 of
Kodiak, was east bound on Rezanof Drive when she lost control of her
white Toyota truck on the ice and slid across Rezanof Drive colliding
with a cliff bordering Rezanoff Drive.  Meacham’s vehicle then rolled
over stopping on Rezanof Drive.  Meacham suffered minor injuries and was
transported by EMS to the hospital.  No citations were issued and
Meacham reported wearing her seat belt.  The vehicle is estimated to be
a total loss.

Type:  DUI, Assault IV
Text:   On 1-21-09 Alaska State Troopers stopped a white Chevy truck for
an equipment violation.  Investigation revealed the driver, Michael
ETHEREDGE of North Pole was Driving While Intoxicated and had assaulted
a female earlier in the night.  ETHEREDGE was transported to Fairbanks
Correctional Center and remanded for DUI and Assault IV.

Type: DV assault 4, interfering with DV report

Text: On 1/20/09 at about 1930 hours, AST responded to a residence on
College road after a woman called saying she needed help.  Investigation
revealed that Alton Keller, 58, of Fairbanks, had assaulted a female,
and then took away her cell phone when she tried to report the incident
to the police.  He was arrested for DV assault 4 and interfering with a
DV report, and taken to FCC, where he was held without bail.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision with injuries
Text: On 1-21-09, at approximately 2125 hours, AST received a report of
a single vehicle collision on Sheep Creek Road near Black Sheep Road.
Investigation revealed that Wyatt Wilson age 21 of Fairbanks was
traveling on Sheep Creek Road at approximately 50 miles per hour when a
moose stepped onto the roadway in front of him.  Wyatt struck the moose
while driving a 1988 Honda Accord.  Wyatt and his passenger were both
transported to FMH for their injuries.  The moose was dispatch and
donated to a local charity.

Text: On 01/21/2009 Troopers received a Governors Warrant requesting
that Bennie Counts, age 38 of Sterling, be extradited to Texas for a
Probation Violation.  Investigation revealed that Bennie Counts was
currently being held at Wildwood PreTrial Facility by Adult Probations.
Bennie Counts was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility for being a
Fugitive From Justice with No Bail.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision – Moose

Text: On 01/22/09, at approximately 0805 hours, Soldotna AST was
notified of a motor collision with a moose at mile 85.5 Sterling Hwy
near Sterling, AK.  Investigation revealed Walter Newton of Sterling was
south bound in his 2000 Mitsubishi car when a moose ran onto the
roadway.  Walter was unable to stop, striking the moose and killing it.
Newton was uninjured and was wearing his seatbelt.  The moose was
donated to a local charity.

Text: On 01/22/09 at approximately 0100 hours, Joseph A. Brown, age 22
of Soldotna, was contacted outside room 208 at the Riverside House in
Soldotna. Brown had a $2500 outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear.
Brown was arrested on the warrant and transported to Wildwood Pretrial
Facility where he was remanded.

Text: On 1/21/09 A Cooper Landing based State Trooper charged Joshua
Wagner 31 yoa with Harassment 1st, after he threw a cup of his urine on

Type: Natural Death

Text: On 1/22/09 at approximately 0042 hours, Soldotna AST responded to
a report of a male that was found unconscious and not breathing at his
home on Scotch Run in Soldotna.  Central Emergency Services responded
and began resuscitation efforts.  The male, identified as Clark Long age
45 of Soldotna, was pronounced deceased at approximately 0130 hours.
Next of Kin was present, no foul play is suspected.

Text:  On 1/20/09, Juneau Post AWT Troopers contacted Troy Crago, age 38
, of Juneau regarding a resident 2008 SF license he purchased.
Interviews and investigation revealed Crago was not eligible to purchase
a resident license.  Crago was issued a bailable citation for false
statement on sport license application.  Optional arraignment was
scheduled in Juneau District Court.

age 28 , of Juneau regarding a resident 2008 SF license he purchased.

Type: False Statements on Resident Sport Applications
Text: On 1/20/09 at 0958 hours the Juneau office of the Alaska Wildlife
Troopers issued citations to Paul M. Zamensky, age 48, and Shelli M.
Zamensky, age 49, both of Henderson, NV.  A residency investigation
showed both Paul and Shelli Zamensky had obtained resident Alaska sport
fish licenses in 2005 when they did not meet Alaska residency
requirements.  Both were issued bailable fines of $310.00 each with an
optional court appearance of February 4, 2009 at 0900 hours in the
Juneau District Court.

Text: On 1/22/09, Juneau Post, Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued two
citations to Adrienne G. Roumasset, age 30, of Leavenworth, WA for
obtaining resident sport fish licenses in 2007 and 2008 when she did not
meet Alaska’s residency requirements.  Roumasset was issued fines
totaling $620.00 for both citations and she was given an optional court
appearance of January 28, 2009 at 0900 hours in the Juneau District
Court.

Text: On 01/22/09 at approximately 1050 hours, Brian Mitvitnikoff, age
21 of Anchorage, was contacted at his residence located at 1624 Russian
Jack #C in Anchorage during an eviction.  Investigation revealed that
Mitvitnikoff had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear.
Mitvitnikoff was arrested on the warrant and transported to Anchorage
Jail where he is being held on $250.00 cash only bail.
