On January 7th at 3:55 a.m., the Salem Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Davis Rd S on a report of a 2000 Honda Accord that had just been stolen from a residential driveway while it was being warmed up. A witness observed the Honda leaving and being followed by another stolen 1993 Mercury Van. The van had been stolen sometime during the night from the 200 block of Kashmir Ct SE.

While checking the area for the two stolen vehicles, officers located the stolen 1993 Mercury Van abandoned at Skyline Rd S and Newberry St S. At 5:48 a.m., Officer Lance Diede observed the stolen 2000 Honda Accord at Skyline Rd S and Kuebler Rd S occupied by three males. A high risk vehicle stop was conducted and two adult males and one male juvenile were taken into custody.

The two adult suspects were: 1. Kyle Wilkins, 19 years, who resides at 4790 Skyline Rd S. 2. Levi Wilkins, 18 years (No relation to Kyle), Transient. All three suspects were charged with two counts of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle. The adult suspects were booked in at the Marion County Correctional Facility. The juvenile was a listed runaway and lodged at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center.
