Officers from the Visalia Police Department conducted a DUI checkpoint detail in Visalia. During this enforcement detail, 411 vehicles were checked, 6 people were arrested for DUI, 16 vehicles were towed, 11 field sobriety tests were administered, 22 traffic citations were issued including 20 for driving on suspended licenses or being an unlicensed driver. Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
