Type: Burglary 1st Degree, Theft 3rd Degree

Text: On 12-3-2008 at approximately 1308 hours, AST received a report
from a Knudson Cove Road resident that someone went inside her house and
stole a case containing several of her debit cards. The resident
reported that the case containing the debit cards was taken sometime
between 11-30-2008 and 12-1-2008. Anyone with any information, please
contact Alaska State Troopers at 225-5118.

Type:  Assault 4 (DV) 
Text:  On 12/3/08 at approximately 0057 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a disturbance at a residence on Tattler Drive in Wasilla.
Investigation revealed that William R. Greenewald, age 41 of Wasilla,
had assaulted a family member during an argument at his residence.
Greenewald was arrested, transported, and remanded to the Mat-Su
Pre-Trial Facility and charged with Assault in the 4th Degree involving
Domestic Violence with no bail set.

Case number: 08-99550  
Type: MVC-D / Fail to Report Immediately MVC
Text: On 12/03/08 at approximately 0053 hours, State Troopers responded
to an apartment complex near mile 48 of the Parks Highway, Wasilla for
the report of a hit and run.  Investigation revealed that an
unidentified driver was traveling North thru the apartment complex
parking lot in a late 90’s Grey Chevy Suburban when the vehicle went off
the roadway struck a stair railing.  Damage to the railing was estimated
at $1,000.00.  The driver of the Suburban fled the scene prior to AST’s
arrival.  Any person with information regarding this case is urged to
contact AST at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

Type:  DWLR

Text:  On 12-2-08 at approximately 2040 hours, Troopers attempted to
stop a Ford truck on the Parks Highway at Willow Fishhook for an
equipment violation.  The driver accelerated and lost control of the
vehicle, skidding into the ditch.  The driver then attempted to switch
seats with his 18 year old passenger.  The driver was identified as
Melvin Hodson, age 51 of Willow.  Investigation revealed that Hodson had
a revoked AK drivers license.  Hodson was arrested and remanded into
MSPT, where bail was set at $1,000.  Hodson was cited for Basic Speed
and for the equipment violation.

Type: DWLS

Text: On 12-2-08 at 1745 hours AST conducted a vehicle stop on a 2002
Buick in downtown Palmer for expired registration.  The driver was
identified as 20 year old Kyla Neil of Palmer.  Investigation revealed
that Neil was driving with a suspended license.  Neil was issued a
summons to appear at a later date for Driving While License Suspended
and issued a citation for expired registration.  Her vehicle was
released to a licensed driver.

Text: On 12-2-08 at 1440 hours, the Alaska State Troopers arrested Aaron

Text: On 12-2-08 at 1130 hours, the Alaska State Troopers discovered
that Jonathan Moses, 24 yoa of Elim, violated his court order appointing
him as his brother’s third party custodian which requires him to be in
24 hour sight or sound of his brother and to report any violations.
Moses was subsequently charged with Violation of Custodian’s Duties.

Type: Assault III DV, MICS IV

Text: On 12-01-08 at approximately 1500 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Kotzebue received a report that Martin T. Gregg, age 38 of Deering, had
assaulted a family member.  At the time of the report Troopers learned
that the victim was unable to leave the residence due to injuries
sustained on 11/26/08.  State Troopers responded to Deering and
following an investigation they arrested Gregg for assault 3 – D.V.
Gregg was also charged with MICS 6 after a search incident to arrest
revealed a small amount of suspected marijuana on Gregg’s person.

Text: On 12-2-08, VPSO Otto from the village of Kongiganak arrrested
Michael Wassillie (20 yoa) of Kongiganak for violating his conditions of

Text:On 12/2/08 at approximately 2358 hours Alaska State Troopers
responded to a residence off of Beaver Lake Drive in Kodiak for a
disturbance between a male and female.  Investigation revealed Ronnette
Alexanderoff, age 35 of Kodiak, had broken several items owned by
another family member at the residence.  Alexanderoff was arrested for
Criminal Mischief IV-DV, transported and remanded to Kodiak Jail where
no bail was set.

Type: Reckless Driving, Driving in Violation of License Restriction

Text: On Tuesday, 12-2-08, at about 1407 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report that a green Ford passenger van had crossed into the
opposing lane of travel at 4 mile W. Rezanof and nearly collided with
(3) separate vehicles, which had to take evasive action.  Subsequent
investigation revealed 22 YOA Julian Javier Valdez of Kodiak fell asleep
while driving in addition to not wearing corrective lenses as required
by his driver’s license restriction.  Valdez was subsequently issued
uniform summons and complaints for Reckless Driving and Driving in
Violation of License Restriction.

Location: Chignik Lake      
Case number: 08-99584       
Type: Burglary
Text: On 12-1-08 the Alaska State Troopers in King Salmon received a
report that the school in Chignik Lake had been broken into over the
weekend. It was reported that the suspect gained entry into the school
through an unlocked window. Once inside, the suspect logged on to a
school computer and attempted to get into the locked office. Damage to
the office door was estimated at $100. No other damage was found and
nothing was believed to be stolen. The case is still under
investigation.

Type: Assault IV-DV

Text: On 12-2-08 at approximately 1300 hours, Kotzebue AST received a
report of a disturbance that occurred at the Noatak general store.
Investigation determined that Harry Penn, 45, of Noatak placed a family
member in fear after he attempted to hit the family member.  Penn was
contacted by Troopers at his residence and was arrested without
incident.  Penn was subsequently transported to Kotzebue Regional Jail
and held without bail pending arraignment.

Text: On 12-2-08 at approximately 1815 hours, a Noatak police officer
arrested Carl Wilson, 44, of Noatak for an outstanding arrest warrant
for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Theft II.  Wilson was
transported to Kotzebue Regional Jail where bail was set at $1000.00

juvenile female of Kodiak had reportedly been sexually assaulted on
various occasions by numerous individuals since she was approximately 5
YOA.  Investigation continues.

Text: On 12-2-08, AST received a report that Bernice Drew age 31 of
Fairbanks was violating a domestic violence protection order.  AST
responded and investigation revealed that Drew was in violation.  Drew
was subsequently arrested and transported to FCC without incident.

Type: Reckless Endangerment
Text: On 12/02/08 at approximately 1645 hours, troopers responded to a
residence off of Delta Avenue for the report of an angry male who
slammed his car into another car.  Investigation revealed Neal C. Rihel,
age 34, of Delta Junction got into a verbal argument with an
ex-girlfriend.  The ex-girlfriend was attempting to leave with a friend
in her car.  Neal got into his car and backed out of the driveway at a
high rate of speed slamming into the other car.  Neal had a young boy as
a passenger in the back seat of his car when the collision occurred.
There were no injuries reported and both cars sustained heavy damage but
were operable.  Neal was arrested without incident and charged with
three counts of Reckless Endangerment.

Type: MVC – Injuries
Text: On 12-2-08 at approximately 1704 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received report of a crash in the area of mile 1324 of the Alaska
Highway involving a tractor trailer and a small sport-utility vehicle.
George Wynalda, 57 of Washington, was attempting to turn his tractor
trailer around when he experienced mechanical failure causing the
vehicle to be immobilized in a manner that blocked both lanes of
traffic.  Judith Cooper, 69 of Fairbanks, was traveling in the same area
and crashed into the tractor trailer.   Cooper sustained lower leg
injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Tok Clinic to be
treated for her injuries.

Type: Motorist Assist/Traffic Hazard
Text: On 12-2-08 at approximately 1812 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received report of a broken down tractor truck at Milepost 1274 of the
Alaska Hwy. with a loaded trailer blocking the roadway. The driver,
Volokymyr Sklyaruk, 34 of Oregon, was experiencing mechanical failure
and was attempting to fix his vehicle. When traveling in the winter it’s
extremely important for drivers to be aware of the possibility of
mechanical failures that may strand you in the middle of some very bad
weather.  Alaska State Troopers would like to encourage all persons to
pack extra cold weather clothing for every person in the vehicle when
traveling throughout the winter. The temperature was 35 degree below
zero.

Text: On 12/3/08 at about 1745 hours, AST responded to a single vehicle
collision with a moose at about 1 mile Murphy Dome Rd.  Investigation
showed that Carol McIntyre was outbound in her 2006 Honda Civic when
three moose crossed in front of her.  She struck one of them, destroying
her windshield, but doing very little body damage.  McIntyre and her
passenger were both wearing their seatbelts, and received no injuries.
No citations were issued.

Text:  On 11/29/08 at approximately 0344 hrs, AST stopped Paul D.
Harvey, age 42 of Clam Gulch, driving a 1990 Ford Bronco near mile 118.1
of the Sterling Hwy for a traffic violation.  Paul Harvey was
subsequently arrested for DUI and DWLR.  Paul Harvey has one prior DUI
conviction and was subsequently remanded to Wildwood Pretrial without
bail.

Text: On 12/3/08, Alaska State Troopers in Seward received an arrest
warrant for Shane Pickens, age 37 of Anchorage, for the original charges
of Burglary II, Theft II, and Criminal Mischief III.  Pickens was
contacted at Spring Creek Correctional Center and arrested.  Pickens
bail was set at $25,000.

Location: Moose Pass

Case number: 08-99540

Type: Death Investigation

Text: On 12/3/08 at approximately 0027 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received the report of an unconscious male not breathing at 35083 Seward
Highway from Laurel Lee, age 45 of Moose Pass.  Investigation revealed
Samuel Shore, age 45 of Moose Pass, was discovered outside his residence
unresponsive.  CPR was initiated and continued by Moose Pass Volunteer
Fire Department and Seward Ambulance personnel once they arrived on
scene.  Shore was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at 0131
hours.  The State Medical Examiner was contacted and released the body
to the family.  Peninsula Memorial responded for the body.  No foul play
is suspected and the investigation continues.  Next of kin, Marilyn
Shore of Utah, was notified of the death.

Text: On 11/20/08 at 0254 hours, Lyndsay Rae Clark, age 28 of Soldotna,
was arrested for DUI after she was contacted by Alaska State Troopers at
17 mile K-Beach Road in Soldotna after her car went into the ditch.
Further investigation revealed her young children had been left at her
residence alone.  Three charges of endangering the welfare of a child
were added. Clark was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility without
bail.

Type: DUI / Resisting Arrest / Assault 4th on Police Officer
Text: On 12/3/08 at approximately 0233 hrs, AST contacted Leroy M.
Harris, age 51 of Clam Gulch, at a residence near mile 118.1 Sterling
Hwy in Clam Gulch operating a 1997 Ford pickup.  AST had received a
complaint that the vehicle and male driver was acting suspicious at the
Clam Shell Lodge Bar.  Leroy M. Harris was subsequently arrested for
DUI, Resisting Arrest, and Assault 4th on a Police Officer.  Leroy
Harris was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial on a $1,500.00 bail.

Type: Attempted Murder, Assault 3
Text: On 11/30/08 at approximately 1941 hours Alaska State Troopers
responded to a 911 call of shots fired at a residence near Trapper
Creek, Alaska. Investigation revealed that George Blodgett (age 52 of
Trapper Creek) went to a residence off of Bradley Road in Trapper Creek
where he fired gunshots at the residence and at the 60 year old male
living there. The victim returned fire and hit Blodgett in the leg
causing minor injury. Blodgett fled the scene and was later contacted at
Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. Blodgett was arrested and charged with
Attempted Murder and Assault 3. He was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial
where he was remanded. Bail was set at $30,000.00 cash.

Type:  MVC-Injury
Text:   On 12/2/08 at approximately 1636 hours, the AST Bureau of
Highway Patrol, South Central Team, responded to a motor vehicle
collision involving injuries at Bogard Rd. and Elsinore Ave. in Wasilla.
 Investigation revealed Viktoriia McCleskey, age 46, of Wasilla, was
pulling out of a driveway in her 2007 Honda CRV when she failed to yield
the right of way after stopping at a stop sign before entering onto
Bogard Rd. McCleskey was struck in the driver’s side of her vehicle by a
2005 Chevy Colorado pickup traveling eastbound on Bogard Rd., driven by
Sarah P. Casey, age 19, of Wasilla.  McCleskey was uninjured in the
collision and reported wearing her seat belt.  Casey and a female
passenger were transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center and
treated for their injuries.  Both Casey and her passenger reported not
wearing their seat belts.  Both vehicles appeared totaled in the
collision.  McCleskey was issued citations for failure to yield the
right of way after stopping and failure to carry proof of insurance.
Alcohol was not a factor in this collision.

Type:  MVC-Moose
Text:  On 12-2-08 at approximately 1810 hours the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team  responded to a report of a motor vehicle
collision involving a moose near Pittman Road and Indigo Road, in
Wasilla.  The operator was identified as Eva J. Lunde, age 60, of
Wasilla.  Investigation revealed a moose ran into Lunde’s lane of
travel.  Lunde was unable to avoid the moose and collided with it. 
Lunde was wearing her safety belt at the time of the collision.  The
damage was estimated at $100.00.  No injuries were reported and the
moose survived the collision.

Type: DUI / Child Endangerment 1st x2
Text: On 12/2/2008 at 1950 hrs, the AST Northern Bureau of Highway
Patrol stopped a white 2006 Dodge car for erratic driving.  Sharon Nasuk
Thompson, age 37 of Fairbanks was identified as the driver.
Investigation revealed Thompson was driving the car while impaired by
alcohol.  Further, she had two infant children riding in the car with
her.  Thompson was arrested for DUI and two counts Child Endangerment
1st.  She was remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Center.  Bail was set
at $3500.

Text:  On 12-3-08 at approximately 1500 hours the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team stopped a vehicle near mile 62 of the Parks
Highway outside Houston for a moving violation.  A passenger in the
vehicle was identified as Keith Hermann, age 18, of Sand Point.
Investigation revealed Hermann had a $250.00 warrant for his arrest on
the original charge of Minor on Premises.  Hermann was arrested and
remanded at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held on $250.00
bail.

Type:  MVC-D
Text:   On 12/3/08 at approximately 1406 hours, the AST Bureau of
Highway Patrol, South Central Team responded to a motor vehicle
collision involving a single vehicle rollover =BC of a mile north of
Bogard Rd. on Trunk Rd. in Palmer.  Investigation revealed Kaylee E.
Hoff, age 23, of Palmer, was driving southbound on Trunk Rd. in her 1996
Toyota Camry when she hit a snow drift obscured by blowing snow causing
her to lose control of her vehicle.  Hoff’s vehicle rolled onto its side
coming into contact with a utility pole on the side of the roadway. 
Hoff and her male passenger reported no injuries and were wearing their
seatbelts. The vehicle sustained minor damage estimated at approximately
$1,000.00.  The utility pole was undamaged.  Alcohol was not a factor in
the collision.

Text: On 12/3/2008 at 1757 hrs, the AST Northern Bureau of Highway
Patrol responded to a two vehicle collision at Farmer’s Loop Road and
Ballaine Road.  Investigation revealed Syun Ichi Akasofu, age 77 of
Fairbanks, was driving a red 1993 Nissan Pathfinder north on Farmer’s
Loop Road, when he attempted making a left turn onto Ballaine Road.
Forest Morgan Owen, age 17 of Fairbanks, was driving a tan 2006 Chevy
Cobalt south on Farmer’s Loop Road when Akasofu turned in front of him.
Owen was unable to avoid colliding with Akasofu.  Owen’s car sustained
substantial front end damage and was towed.  Owen’s passenger was
transported Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.  Akasofu’s
car sustained minor damage.  All parties were wearing seatbelts.
Alcohol was not involved.  Akasofu was issued a citation for Failure to
Yield while Turning Left.

Text:   On 12/3/08 at approximately 1623 hours, the AST Bureau of
Highway Patrol, South Central Team, responded to a motor vehicle
collision at the Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. near Prieta Dr., in Palmer. 
Investigation revealed Eleanor F. Oakley, age 73, of Wasilla, was
driving her 1999 Plymouth Voyager van westbound on the Palmer-Wasilla
Hwy. near Prieta Dr. when she collided with the rear of a 1996 Toyota
Camary, driven by Celia A. Darrough, age 19, of Palmer.  No injuries
were reported.  All occupants reported wearing their seatbelts.  The
damage to both vehicles is estimated in excess of $5,000.00.  Oakley was
issued a citation for failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision.
 Alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
