Major Incidents Reported for December 01, 2008
Aggravated Robbery:
An employee at the Wendy’s Restaurant located at 2546 Romig Rd reported being robbed late Friday night. The employee reported that a vehicle pulled up to the drive-thru window around 10:00 PM after ordering food. The driver pointed a black handgun at the employee and demanded money. The employee gave the suspect an unreported amount of money. The driver fled eastbound on Romig Rd in a red car.
The suspect is a white male, 25 – 30 years old. He was wearing a black knit hat. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.
Robbery:
A 53-year-old male reported being assaulted at Cordova Ave and Little St around noon on Saturday. The victim reported that he was walking to the store when the suspect approached him. The suspect demanded money from the victim. The victim refused and the suspect punched the victim in the side of the head, knocking him to the ground. The suspect fled without getting anything. The victim sustained minor injuries however refused medical treatment.
The suspect is a black male, 20 – 25 years old, he was 5’06” – 5’09” tall and had short black hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.
Felonious Assault and Domestic Violence:
A domestic argument turned physical late Saturday night, and lands one brother in the hospital with serious injuries and the other brother in jail. Officers responded to the 1200 block of Joy Ave around 10:00 PM for a domestic fight between brothers. During the fight one brother, Akil Gay, 30, got into his car, a 2005 Dodge Durango, and ran over his brother Adika Gay, 31. Adika was transported to Akron City Hospital with serious injuries. Warrants were issued for Akil Gay.
Akil was arrested and taken into custody around 4:00 AM Sunday morning. He was charged with Felonious Assault and Domestic Violence. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
Robbery:
A 28-year-old Stow resident reported late Sunday night that he was robbed of his money and car while trying to buy marijuana in South Akron. The victim reported that he went to an address on Bellows St around 9:00 PM when he was assaulted and robbed of $180.00 in cash and his vehicle, a 2002 Chevy Blazer. The vehicle has been recovered and returned to the owner.
Vehicle Taken in Robbery has been Recovered:
The 2003 black Toyota RAV4, taken in the robbery of the delivery driver from Platinum Dragon last Wednesday night, has been recovered. The vehicle was recovered early Sunday morning, around 2:00 AM, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Detectives are still asking that anyone with information about the robbery contact our department.

Felony reports for the weekend events
Carl F. Wilkinson, 62, 1782 Wakefield Dr., Akron, Ohio was charged with Burglary and Domestic Violence. Carl forced his way into 1122 LaCroix Ave. and pushed the victim out of his way by hitting the victim in the face.
Eugene Russell, 45, 830 Kenyon Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Grand Theft Auto and Felony Theft. Eugene took the company vehicle after being fired from his job. The vehicle also contained frozen foods valued at over $500.
Tanella L. Beasley, 21, 119 Tandy Lane, Akron, Ohio was charged with Burglary. Tanella was found hiding in a bedroom closet at 117 Tandy Lane by the resident.
Michael D. Tyler, 19, 428 Grand Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Felonious Assault and Weapons under Disability. Michael shot the victim after being removed from 370 Paul Williams St.
Donald P. Clayton Sr., 47, 681 Ivy Ct., Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence, Drug Paraphernalia, Obstructing Official Business and Criminal Damage. Donald has a prior conviction for domestic violence from 1-23-03.
Antonio L. Poole, 28, 812 Hayden Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Antonio has a prior conviction for domestic violence from 3-4-03.
Gayle T. Greer, 46, 366 Wildwood Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Obstructing Official Business. Officers were looking into a domestic violence call against Brandon M. Hambrick. The victim of the DV told officer that Brandon would be found at 366 Wildwood Ave. Gayle is the resident at 366 Wildwood and Brandon’s vehicle was observed at the residence. Gayle told officer that she was the only one home and that they could come in and look. She then stated that she forgot that her boyfriend “Greg” was there. The male was located and found to be Brandon.
Brandon R. Hambrick, 24, 1349 Massillon Rd., Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Brandon has a prior conviction for domestic violence from 7-26-06.
Shana Barker, 33, was charged with Robbery. Shana admitted to robbing the victim on 8-14-08. She also identified Robert Dunagan as the second suspect in the incident.
Jena R. Markovich, 19, 135 Spray Dr., Munroe Falls, Ohio was charged with Theft. Between 10-26-08 abd 11-10-08, Jena made several fraudulent returns. After making the returns she took the money from the register she was working at. The total value was $2,807.66.
Jason B. Knapp, 33, 2135 10th St. SW, Akron, Ohio was charged with Rape and Gross Sexual Imposition. Jason admitted to sexually assaulting the juvenile victim.
Akil K. Gray, 30, 2221 N. Reynolds, Toledo, Ohio was charged with Felonious Assault and Domestic Violence. During a domestic dispute, Akil got into a vehicle and ran over the victim causing serious injuries to the victim.
Justin P. Soule, 28, 656 Rhodes Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Driving on a Suspended License. Justin was stopped at W Exchange and W Bowery for expired tags. Justin told the officers that he a loaded gun with him. Justin did not have a permit for the gun.
