The Akron Police Department Traffic Division will be out in force this holiday weekend. Officers will be targeting impaired drivers and those individuals that are not wearing seat belts. Safety experts continually remind us that drunk driving incidents spike during the holiday season.
Motorists are urged to designate a driver and avoid getting behind the wheel if alcohol is included in their holiday celebrations. Safety belts save lives. Drivers and passengers are reminded to Buckle Up!
The enforcement efforts are funded by a grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO).
