Boise, November 18th, 2008 - Boise Police Officers responded to a hit and run accident involving a male subject riding a bicycle and a pickup truck today (Tuesday) at about 6:20 pm in the area of Dundee and Manitou near Broadway.
Prior to officers arriving, the suspect fled without offering to assist the injured bicycle rider, or provide necessary information.
The injured bicycle rider, a male in his mid 20’s, was transported to a local area hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
There were several witnesses who saw the incident and all were able to provide information which assisted in determining what type of vehicle was involved. Based on the descriptions, the suspect vehicle was believed to be a mid-2000’s Ford F150 pickup, red in color.
Officer Brian Jones lead the investigation and ran a query through DMV. The query received a multitude of possible suspect vehicle matches within Ada County. Officer Jones began checking these locations and was able to locate the suspect a short time later.
The suspect was identified as Wally L. Baker, 54 years of age. Baker was arrested for Felony Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident and was booked into the Ada County Jail.
