Baton Rouge Man Arrested For Cyberstalking

On Monday, November 17, 2008, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria and Baton Rouge Field Offices arrested Mr. Charlie Junior Brooks II for Cyberstalking.
Louisiana State Police became involved in the joint investigation at the request of the Northwestern State University Police Department. Northwestern State University Police Department informed State Police Detectives that on November 8, 2008 an electronic mail message was sent to a member of the football coaching staff at Northwestern State University from an anonymous source. This electronic mail message threatened serious bodily harm to the entire coaching staff.
During the investigation, it was determined that the electronic mail message was sent from a residence in Baton Rouge, LA. Troopers from the Baton Rouge Field Office obtained a search warrant and made contact with the occupants during the execution of the warrant. One of the occupants was identified as Mr. Brooks II. Mr. Brooks II met with Troopers on November 17, 2008 and admitted to sending the threatening electronic mail message. He was arrested/charged with Cyberstalking and issued a misdemeanor summons.
