Major Incidents Reported for November 14, 2008
Felonious Assault/Domestic Related:
Officers responded to two unrelated domestic calls last night that resulted in two individuals being injured with a knife. The first domestic call was in the 1200 block of Nome Ave. The victim, Cory Mosley, 18, was cut on the hand. He was treated at Akron Children’s Hospital for his injuries. No arrest has been made. The stabbing remains under investigation.
The second domestic was in the 200 block of Kryder Ave. The victim, Tanaya White, 19, was cut on the back. Her injuries were minor and she did not seek medical help. Officers arrested Deonte T. Jackson, 20, of Tallmadgeview Ave in Akron. He was charged with Felonious Assault, Domestic Violence, and Domestic Violence Menacing. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
Aggravated Robbery:
Around 7:00 last night, a delivery driver for Sam’s Corner Market located at 522 Vernon Odom Blvd reported being robbed while attempting to deliver food. The driver pulled into a driveway in the 800 block of Fess Ave when the suspect came up behind him. The suspect put a gun to the back of the driver’s head and demanded money. The driver handed the suspect the food bag, containing food and a minimal amount of money, then jumped into his vehicle and drove back to the store to call police.
The suspect is a black male 18 – 19 years old. He was about 5’08” tall and weighed between 160 –170 lbs. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a red ski mask. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.
Robbery/Theft:
Around 5:30 this morning, a 65-year-old female was robbed at the Chase Bank at 632 E. Market St while using the ATM machine. The victim reported that she was out of her car using the ATM machine when a female approached her. The female tried to grab money from the victim’s hand. The victim struggled with the suspect and was able to hold onto her money. The suspect then ran over to the victim’s car, jumped in and drove away. The victim was not injured during the robbery.
Police need your help in locating the victim’s car and suspect. The car is a blue 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Ohio License Plate: LEXI –101. The suspect is a black female 25 – 30 years old. She was between 5’02” – 5’05” tall and weighed about 160 lbs. She was possibly wearing red or green clothing. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.

Felony reports for November 14, 2008
David H. Youmans, 36, 730 Callis Oval #1512, Akron, Ohio was charged with Disrupting Public Service, Assault and Criminal Damage. David and the victim got into an argument. David went upstairs and the victim followed. David pushed a dresser on the victim and when the victim attempted to call 911, David pulled the phone from the wall and broke the phone.
Margaret Leasure, 52, 1206 N. Cleveland Massillon Rd., Akron, Ohio was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon. The police were called to 555 Wyandot for an accident. Margaret was found to have a loaded gun in her possession.
Dawanda M. Goodwin, 44, 1745 Cromwell Dr. #2, Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Dawanda has a prior conviction for domestic violence from 7-26-96.
Earvin Woods, 43, 175 Garth Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Earvin hit the victim in the head with a brick after the victim assaulted Earvin.
Divina S. Rodriguez, 27, was charged with Theft. Divina stole natural gas for over a year from AMHA property. Divina moved out of AMHA property and took 3 air conditioners that were tagged to AMHA.
Timothy D. Addie, 32, 357 Beechwood Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence and Criminal Damaging. Timothy and the victim were in an argument that got physical. Timothy threw the victim into a tree causing injuries to the victim.
James H. Lee, 49, 53 S. Balch St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Breaking and Entering, Felony Willful Flee, Criminal Tools, Obstructing Official Business and Resisting Arrest. The police were called to 1065 Chalker for a burglary call. Officer observed a vehicle fitting the discription from Chalker at 1163 N. Howard. Officer got into a vehicle pursuit that ended at Arlington and Waterloo. The vehicle was loaded with miscellaneous items. Officer went back to 1163 N. Howard and found the door to the garage had been forced open and a snow blower was found sitting in the middle of the driveway.
