The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a homicide which occurred in the rear of the 4900 block of 11th Street, NE.

At approximately 8:30 pm, on Monday, October 27, 2008, officers from the Fourth District responded to the 4900 block of 11th Street, NE, to investigate the reported sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male in the rear of that location, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:25 pm.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 17-year-old Franklin Fantroy, of the 700 block of Buchanan Street, NE.

This case remains under investigation by detectives from the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
