A Bend-area man critically injured Friday night when his vehicle drove off Highway 126E west of Blue River and crashed into a tree died Saturday afternoon at a Eugene-area hospital.
 
According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Recruit Don Jeter, on October 24, 2008 at approximately 11:21 p.m. a 1991 Ford F-350 service truck pulling a personal trailer was operated by KEVIN BLAIR BRISTOW, age 48, from Bend, eastbound on Highway 126E near milepost 35. For an unknown reason, the vehicle drove off the highway and crashed into a tree.
 
BRISTOW was critically injured and transported by air ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. The Lane County Medical Examiner notified OSP Saturday that BRISTOW died this afternoon at the hospital. Safety restraint use information is not available.
 
OSP troopers from the Springfield Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Local emergency responders assisted at the scene.
