Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Saturday evening’s motorcycle crash on Highway 234 that resulted in the death of an adult male.

On October 25, 2008 at approximately 6:30 p.m. a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by TROY M. JACKSON, age 65, from Gold Hill, was eastbound on Tresham Road when, for unknown reasons, it lost control and drove off the road. The motorcycle traveled through a ditch, crossed onto Highway 234 near milepost 9 before coming to a rest in a ditch.

JACKSON was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

Area residents responded to the scene of the crash and observed another motorcycle rider at the scene. That operator left without providing a name or a statement to determine if they had any information helpful to the investigation. Oregon State Police are requesting the operator contact the Oregon State Police Southern Oregon Regional Dispatch Center at 541-776-6111.

Oregon State Police troopers from the Central Point Area Command office and Grants Pass work site are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. Jackson County Fire District 3 and Oregon Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
