DC - Homicide in the 3300 Block of Martin Luther King, Jr Avenue, SE

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide which occurred in the 3300 block of Martin Luther King, Jr, Avenue, SE.
At approximately 1:37 am on Sunday, October 5, 2008, officers on patrol from the Seventh District reported hearing the sounds of gunshots in the area of the 3300 block of Martin Luther King, Jr, Avenue SE. Officers responded immediately to that location and discovered an adult male in that block suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the scene, but were unable to find any signs consistent with life. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.
The decedent in this case has been identified as 22-year-old Phillip Palmer, Jr, of the 3600 block of Brothers Place, SE.
This case remains under investigation by detectives from the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 dollars to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
