Type: DWLR
Text: On 10/03/2008, at approximately 1905 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Nathan N Puzey, age 28, of Wasilla, after he was observed
driving a Chevy Cobolt on the Parks Hwy near Crusey Street. An
investigation revealed that Puzey was driving on a revoked driver’s
license. Puzey was issued a summons for DWLR.  He was later released at
the scene.

Text:   On 10/3/08 at approximately 2306 hours, the AST South Central
DUI Enforcement contacted Donna K. Kain, age 43, of Big Lake after she
drove into the parking lot and approached Troopers investigating a
separate incident at Robin’s Landing Bar on Big Lake Rd. in Big Lake. 
Investigation revealed Kain was operating her vehicle while under the
influence of alcohol.  Kain was arrested for DUI and remanded to the
Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was held until sober.

Text:   On 10/3/08 at approximately 2251 hours the AST South Central DUI
Enforcement Team contacted Joseph A. Tilden, age 23, of Big lake in
response to a REDDI report stating Tilden was refused service at a local
bar due to his intoxication.  Tilden was located at Robin’s Landing Bar
in Big Lake and found to have been operating his vehicle under the
influence of alcohol.  Tilden was also found to have a suspended drivers
license.  Tilden was arrested for DUI and DWLS.  Tilden was remanded to
the Mat-Su Pretrial facility where he was held on a $1,000.00 bail.

Text:   On 10/3/08 at approximately 0410 hours the AST South Central DUI
Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near mile 50 of the Parks Hwy.
outside Wasilla in response to a REDDI report.  The operator was
identified as Michael R. Reagan, age 37, of Houston.  Reagan was not
found to be impaired however was found to be operating the vehicle with
a suspended drivers license.  Reagan was issued a summons to appear in
the Palmer Court for DWLS and released at the scene.

Text: On 10/4/2008, approx. 0655 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded
to a Palmer residence for a reported disturbance.  Investigation
revealed that Kevin E. S. Burkett, age 26 of Palmer, had assaulted and
injured an adult female at her residence when he attacked and attempted
to rape her.  Burkett further assaulted an adult male at the residence
by causing physical injury.  Burkett was arrested at the scene without
incident and remanded to MSPT where he was held on $10,000.00 bail.

Type:  MVC-I
Text:  On 10/03/08 at approximately 2359 hours Alaska State Troopers
responded to a single vehicle roll-over on Seldon Road near Old Squaw
Road in Wasilla.  Investigation revealed that Aaron B. Clark, age 17 of
Wasilla, and James T. Martin, age 17 of Palmer, were traveling east on
Seldon Road at approximately 45mph, encountered ice on the road and lost
control of the 1993 GMC pickup.  The pickup went into the ditch and
rolled onto the roof.  Both occupants reported wearing seat belts and
sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by EMS.  The
pickup sustained approximately $2,000.00 damage and was towed from the
scene.  The driver was issued citations for Violation of Provisional
License and Basic Speed.

Type: Assault IV, Kidnapping, Robbery I, Misconduct Involving a Weapon
II, Domestic Violence

Text: On 10/4/08 at 0500 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a
report that Kyle Nicholi, age 25, of Lower Kalskag had assaulted and
held a family member hostage inside of the residence. It was also
reported that Kyle discharged a firearm in the direction of a residence
and took $100 from the family member.   The investigation is still
ongoing.  Alcohol was involved.

Text: On 10/3/08 at 2330 hours, Paul Evan, age 45, of Lower Kalskag,
reported that he had been assaulted by another resident of Lower
Kalskag.  The investigation is still ongoing.

Case number: 08-14894

Type: Sentencing for Sexual Abuse of a Minor 1st Degree (x4)

Text: On 10/3/08, David Foster, 35 yoa, of Noorvik was sentenced in the
Kotzebue Superior Court to serve 30 years in prison with 10 years
suspended and 25 years probation for the sexual assault.  In February of
2008, State Troopers in Kotzebue received a report stating Foster had
sexually abused a victim living in the home with him and that the abuse
had occurred for over a year.  During the investigation David Foster
contacted State Troopers and confessed to sexually assaulting the victim
and then told State Troopers that he was planning to take his own life. 
State Troopers responded to the village where Foster turned himself in
after speaking with negotiators for over an hour.  In June, David Foster
changed his plea and plead guilty to the charge.

Text: On September 29, 2008 at 8:15 pm, Bethel AST contacted 23 year old

Type: Violated Conditions of Release

Text: On 9/27/08, VPSO Max Olick of Kwethluk Public Safety received a
report from Noel Daniels Jr, 20 YOA of Kwethluk, reporting that on
9/27/08 Daniels was contacted outside the Kwethluk Native Store. Daniels
was very intoxicated and placed in protective custody. Daniels is on
Felony Probation with the condition of not consuming any alcohol.
Charges forwarded to District Attorneys Office.

Text: On October 3, 2008 at 1330 hours, Paul Walter, 23 of Tuksook Bay,
turned himself into Alaska State Troopers in Bethel on an outstanding
arrest warrant. The warrant was issued after Walter failed to appear for
a hearing that stemmed from a 2006 DUI charge. Walter was remanded to
YKCC on $200 bail.

Type: Escape

Text: On October 2, 2008 at 2242 hours, Alaska State Troopers received
information that Matt Gardiner, 33 yrs old, of Bethel escaped from the
Tundra Center. Investigation revealed that Gardiner escaped from the
facility that day and left Bethel on a plane. Gardiner’s last known
location was in Seattle, Washington. Investigation continues.

Type: Fire-Residential

Text:On 10/04/08 Aniak AST learned of a residential fire which had
occurred earlier that morning in the village of Grayling. The home of
Larry Rock, 48, of Grayling was destroyed.  Residents were able to get
Rock out of the home, he has been medi-vaced due to the level of his
injuries.  Aniak AST is responding to Grayling on 10/05/08 to
investigate.

Text:  On 10/3/08, at approximately 0930 hours, Frank Poukin, 21 of St.
Marys was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on a
MCA charge.  Poukin was transported toYKCC in Bethel.  Bail is set at
$500.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision Damage Only
Text: On 10-2-08, at approximately 1405 hours, AST received a report of
a motor vehicle collision on Marigold Road near Columbine Road.
Troopers responded and made contact with Joshua Ritter age 27 of North
Pole.  Ritter was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer when he lost
control and the vehicle collided with the ditch and rolled onto its
side.  No injuries were reported and seatbelts were worn by the
occupants.

Type:  Motor Vehicle Crash
Text:  On 10-3-08, at 0746 hours, Alaska State Troopers discovered
vehicle crash on Holmes Road near Doyle Drive.  Investigation revealed
Uraina A. Sterrett, 28 of North Pole, was driving north on Holmes Road
in her 2006 Pontiac Vibe, when she lost control of her vehicle and
rolled on its side.  Sterrett and her passenger were wearing their
seatbelt.  Sterrett was complaining of pain after Northstar Volunteer
Fire Department left the scene, but declined to be transported by them.
Sterrett’s passenger was not injured in the crash.  The vehicle
sustained approximately $7,000.00.

Type:  Motor Vehicle Collision
Text:  On 10-3-08, at 1325 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the
intersection of Nordale and Peede Road for a two vehicle collision.
Investigation revealed Mavis Berrellez, 38 of North Pole, was driving
north in her 2003 Mercury SUV on Peede Road and was approaching Nordale
Road.  Michael J. Ebel, 53 of Fairbanks, was driving west his 1994
Orange Dump Truck on Nordale Road.  Berrelez entered the intersection
after stopping at the stop sign when Ebel’s vehicle struck Berrelez’s
vehicle.  Both vehicles left the roadway.  Berrelez was wearing her
seatbelt and the driver’s and side air bags deployed.  Berrelez’s
vehicle was a total loss and Ebel’s vehicle sustained substantial
mechanical damage.  Berrelez was issued a citation for Failure to Yield
after Stopping at a Stop Sign.

Type:  Motor Vehicle Crash
Text:  On 10-3-08, at 0746 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to
mile 344 northbound lane of the Richardson Highway for a single vehicle
rollover crash.  Investigation revealed Caleb J. Hurley, 21 of Moose
Creek, was driving north on Richardson Highway in his 2002 Ford Explorer
SUV, when he lost control of his vehicle and rolled it over.  Hurley and
his passenger were wearing their seatbelt and were not injured in the
crash.  Hurley was issued a citation for Basic Speed.  The SUV was a
total loss.

Case number: 08-82897

Type: MVC-I

Text: On 10/3/08 at about 0750 hours, AST responded to a 4 vehicle crash
at the intersection of Chena Small Tracts Road and Chena Pump Road.
Investigation revealed that Danielle Cevasco, 17, of Fairbanks had been
driving west on Chena Small Tracts in her 2000 GMC pickup when she was
unable to stop on the icy road and slid through the stop sign.  She
struck a Honda minivan being driven by Ursula Hein, who was turning onto
Chena Small Tracts.  Cevaso was then struck on the driver’s side by a
Toyota Forerunner driven by Kelsey Meltvedt, who had been going north on
Chena Pump.  Finally, an Audi sedan being driven by Gara Bridwell came
from behind Meltvedt, and while trying to go around Meltvedt to avoid
hitting her, she also struck Cevasco.  All occupants were wearing their
seatbelts, and all vehicles were drivable from the scene.  The only
injury was to Cevasco, who was transported to FMH for a concussion and
whiplash.  She was later cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Text: On 10/4/08 at approximately 0327 hrs. Alaska State Troopers
arrested Miles Carlson 30 yoa of Fairbanks 
after he was contacted operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in
the Bradway Rd area.
Carlson was incarcerated at the Fairbanks Correctional Center pending
further court action.

Text: On 10-4-08 at 0145 hours, Ronald Jacobson, age 45, of Fairbanks
was contacted for a traffic violation. Investigation revealed Jacobson
was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol then
refused to provide a breath sample for the Datamaster. Jacobson was
transported to and remanded at FCC.

Text: On 10/04/2008 at 1459 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded
to a single vehicle

rollover crash on the Old Richardson Highway near the intersection with
Badger Road.

Investigation revealed Michael Carney, age 43 of North Pole, was driving
his 1997 Toyota

pickup south bound on the Old Richardson Highway when the rear tires of
his vehicle lost

traction after hitting a patch of ice. Carney was unable to correct the
vehicle and slid

off of the east side of the road and into a ditch. The vehicle rolled
onto its top after

hitting the ditch. Carney was wearing his seatbelt and did not report
any injuries. Damage

to Carney’s vehicle estimated at $2,500.00

Type:  Motor Vehicle Crash
Text:  On 10-4-08, at 1346 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to
Nordale Road near Freeman Road for a single vehicle rollover crash.
Investigation revealed Mallory E. Daml, 17 of North Pole, was driving a
2006 Dodge pick-up and was traveling east on Nordale Road.   Daml saw a
vehicle pull out of a driveway and decided to tap her break to slow
down.  The pick-up started sliding out of control and subsequently went
off the roadway and flipped over upside down.  Daml was wearing her
seatbelt and was not injured in the rollover.  Daml was issued a
citation for Basic Speed.

Type: DUI Drugs

Text: On 10-1-08 at approximately 1758 hours, Troopers contacted Kindre
Loop, 43 yoa of Anchor Point, when the vehicle she was operating was
stopped for coming into the oncoming lane near mile 156 of the Sterling
Highway.  Loop was found to be under the influence of a Controlled
Substance and was placed under arrest for DUI.  She was transported to
the Homer Jail where she was remanded with $500.00 bail.
