Sioux Falls, SD – An Iowa woman received minor injuries in a rollover crash following a pursuit this afternoon. The crash happened about 12:15 on Interstate 29.
A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop Nicole C. Mitchell, 20, of Red Oak, IA near Elk Point for speeding. Mitchell failed to pull over and continued north on Interstate 29. During the course of the pursuit, the Highway Patrol confirmed the Chevy Malibu Mitchell was driving was stolen from Sioux City, IA. The Highway Patrol continued to pursue Mitchell, and attempted to end the pursuit with tire spikes. While troopers deployed tire spikes, Mitchell swerved at the troopers. Eventually Mitchell lost control of the car she was driving and rolled it near Canton.
Mitchell was wearing her seatbelt and received minor injuries.
