BATON ROUGE- On Tuesday, September 30 2008 at approximately 9:06 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a two-vehicle crash on LA 1025 east of LA 16 in Livingston Parish which resulted in the death of a Walker resident.
Daniel Moran (W/M, age 20 of Walker) was traveling east on LA 1025 in a 2007 Nissan Pickup when he crossed the centerline and side-swiped a 2001 Chevrolet Pickup. After impact, Moran’s vehicle began to rotate clockwise and exited the roadway to the right. The Nissan overturned, struck a tree, and came to rest in the yard of a residence. Moran was not wearing a seatbelt and was fatally injured as a result of the crash. Alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in the crash, and blood has been taken from Moran and submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis.
Matthew Ducote (W/M, age 23 of Denham Springs) was driving the Chevrolet that was struck by Moran’s vehicle. After impact, Ducote came to a controlled stop on the westbound shoulder of LA 1025. Ducote was wearing a seatbelt and received minor injuries as a result of the crash.
