Major Incidents Reported for September 29, 2008 – (photo available) – opens new photos window.

Aggravated Robbery:

Around 1:00 PM Friday afternoon officers responded to a robbery in the 700 block of N. Howard St. The victim reported that he was walking to work when the suspects approached him from behind. The suspects demanded that the victim empty his pockets. After refusing, one suspect pulled out a handgun. The victim handed over his wallet and cash. The suspects then fled on foot.

The suspects were three black male 16 – 18 years old. The first one is about 5’7” tall and weighs about 145 lbs. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is about 5’7” tall and weighs about 170 lbs. He was wearing a red t-shirt and dark blue jeans. The third suspect is about 5’4” tall and weighs about 135 lbs. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.
Aggravated Robbery & Felonious Assault:

Around 2:00 PM Friday afternoon officers responded to a robbery in the 300 block of Kline Ave. The victim reported that he was approached by two black males who demanded money. After the victim refused, one suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the arm. The victim was taken to a local hospital where his injuries are not life threatening. The suspects were two black males, one with cornrows. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.
Aggravated Robbery:

Around 4:30 PM Friday afternoon officers responded to First American Cash Advance located at 1658 Brittain Rd for a robbery. The clerk reported that the suspect entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded money. The teller gave the suspect an unknown amount money. Then the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect is a black male between 20-25 years old and about 5’4” tall. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.

Improperly Discharging Firearm:

Shortly before 1:00 AM Saturday morning officers responded to shots fired into a home on Vesper St. The resident reported that the suspect fired several shots into the house and fled on foot. After obtaining information on the suspect, officers went over to W. Tallmadge Ave and located the shooter. He had an apparent gunshot wound to his leg.

Arrested was Fredrick J. Peoples, 22, of Mustill St in Akron. Peoples was charged with Discharging into an Occupied Structure, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Weapons under Disability, and Discharging from a prohibited place.

Peoples was first transported to a local hospital for treatment for his gunshot wound, then booked into the Summit County Jail.

Aggravated Robbery:

Around 12:30 AM Sunday morning a delivery driver for Pizza Hut located at 522 E. Market reported being robbed while attempting to deliver food in the 700 block of Princeton St. The driver reported when he approached the house the suspect jumped out of the bushes with a handgun. The suspect demanded money and food. The suspect fled on foot.

The suspect is a black male between 18-22 years old. He is about 5’11” tall and weighs about 160 lbs. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.

Felony reports for the weekend events

Danielle M. Crippin-Taylor, 27, was charged with Breaking and Entering. Danielle was found at 210 Elmdale Ave. placing items from an detached garage outside of the garage. Danielle does not live at this residence.

Anthony McMullen, 19, 1668 Maxen Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Obstructing Official Business, Open Container in a Vehicle, Possession of Alcohol by a Minor, Possession of Crack Cocaine and Tampering with Evidence. Anthony was stopped at 1221 Everton Ave. for dark tint on windows. Anthony ran from officers and was apprehended several blocks from the vehicle. Officers retraced the path that Anthony had run and found crack cocaine. Anthony had an open container inside the vehicle.

Christopher L. Wilson, 19, 653 E. 130th St., Cleveland, Ohio was charged with Felonious Assault and Discharging Firearm in City Limits. On 9-26-08 Christopher was at a party at 517 Sumner St. Christopher got into a confrontation with Myguel O. Roberts. During the confrontation Christopher pulled out a gun and shot Myguel in the back.

Efram J. Twitty Jr., 20, 1329 Frederick Blvd., Akron, Ohio was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Auto. Officers observed Efrem riding in a reported stolen vehicle.

Phillip D. Riley, 45, 5643 Yankee St., Fredericktown, Ohio was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon. The police were called to 2512 Triplett Blvd for a victim having a gun pointed at him. Phillip was stopped at he tried to leave the scene. He told the officers he had a gun but no permit to carry. Phillip was also found to be driving without a drivers license and was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ronald Gilbert Patton, 42, 364 W. Miller Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Felony Domestic Violence, Kiddnapping and Assault. Ronald restrained the victim by binding her hands and feet and gagging her. The victim was assaulted by Ronald and taken to AGMC for treatment. Ronald has a prior conviction for domestic violence from 4-25-03 and a case pending for domestic violence menacing from 6-22-07.

Fredrick J. Peoples, 22, 141 Mustill St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Discharging into Occupied Structure, Weapons under Disability, Carrying a Concealed Weapon Gun, Discharging from a Prohibited Place. Fredrick drove to 32 Vesper St. and fired several shots into the occupied house causing serious damage to the structure.

Chaderra McGowan, 53, 1145 Marcy St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Chaderra has two prior convictions for domestic violence from 1993 and 1996.

Alexander Dickson, 24, 109 Bachtel St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Discharging a Firearm into a Occupied Structure. Alexander fired 3 shotgun shots into 110 Bachtel. Alexander fled the scene but could be identified as the shooter.

Brandon S. Proctor, 25, 751 N. Howard St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Weapons under Disability and Tampering with Evidence. Officers were called to 952 Barbara for a shots fired call. As the officers arrived they observed Brandon and Jason E. Jones walking from the scene. Witnesses told officer that Brandon was the shooter.
