Case Number: 08-78237

Type: Take Sub Legal Moose

Text: On 9-22-08, 24 year old Christopher Dehart of Houston, AK was
cited for taking a sub legal bull moose. The charge resulted after an
investigation showed that a set of sub legal moose antlers which were in
a pile of larger antlers with gear scheduled to be flown out of Farewell
Station, belonged to Dehart. During the investigation, the antlers were
measured at 45 inches wide with only three brow tines on each side, in
an area which requires fifty inches of antler width, or at least four
brow tines on at least one side. Dehart and his hunting party members
had been  contacted by AWT Troopers previously, and there had been no
previous mention of this moose being sub legal. The moose, as well as
the four wheeler used during the take and transportation of the illegal
moose, were seized as evidence. Arraignment is scheduled in Mcgrath
