Type: Sexual Abuse of Minor 1st
Text: On 10-31-06, the Mat-Su Multi Disciplinary Team investigated
a report that Joel P. Larson (then age 55 of Palmer) was sexually
abusing a 15 year old.  Investigators looked into the reported abuse
and it was subsequently determined that the 15 year old made up the
story about the abuse.

On 8-25-08, the now 17 year old reported to the ABI Child Abuse
Investigation Unit that in 2006 she was forced to change her statement
to save Larson from being arrested.  As a result of these new facts the
case was reopened.  After a month long investigation, Joel Larson (now age 57),
was arrested for 2 counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor 1st degree and 5 counts of
Sexual Abuse of a Minor 2nd degree.  J. Larson was remanded into custody at
Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, with no bail.
