BATON ROUGE- On Friday, September 26, 2008 at approximately 5:15 a.m., Louisiana State Police-Troop A investigated a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 westbound at milepost 184 which resulted in the death of two passengers from Baton Rouge.
Shedrick Lobrano (B/M, age 19 of Baton Rouge) was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 in the left lane when he lost control of his vehicle as he tried to change lanes to the right travel lane. Lobrano’s 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt left the roadway to the right and began rotating clockwise.
The vehicle traveled backwards and then struck a tree with its rear bumper. The car then rotated again before coming to rest off of the roadway. The two passengers in Lobrano’s vehicle, Roderick D. Aaron (B/M, age 20 of Baton Rouge) and Kristopher R. Jones (B/M, age 19 of Baton Rouge) both received fatal injuries during the crash. Only the driver was wearing his seat belt.
Lobrano was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with serious injuries. Alcohol is not considered to be a factor in this crash though blood was taken from the driver and submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. Upon his release from the hospital, Lobrano will be booked into the Ascension Parish jail on the charges of Careless Operation and two counts of Negligent Homicide.
