Monroe, LA Man Dies in a Southern Lafourche Parish Crash

Larose- Early Monday morning, September 22, 2008 at approximately 1:45 AM, Troop C troopers were notified of a single vehicle crash on LA 3235 at LA 24 in Lafourche Parish that claimed the life of a Monroe, LA man.
A 2005 Ford F350, driven by Robert Patterson (W/M, 59, of Monroe, LA) was traveling north on LA 3235 in the right lane. The truck was also towing an empty gooseneck trailer. Patterson failed to stop at the T- intersection of LA 24 and continued straight across the intersection. The Ford impacted a ditch embankment head-on and came to rest. Patterson was trapped and was removed from the vehicle by the fire department. He was airlifted to West Jefferson Hospital by West Jefferson AirMed. Patterson died while en-route to the hospital.
Patterson was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol use is not suspected. Alcohol/Drug test results are pending analysis. Senior Trooper Tony Eymard is continuing his investigation.
