Text: On 9-8-08, at 1736, Juneau AST received a report of an assault in
the village of Angoon at 615 Chinook Way. Juneau post Troopers are in
route to the village for investigation.

Type: Theft in the 2nd Degree

Text:  On 9/5/08 at 0830 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a
report of a theft from a resident near mile 8 of the North Tongass
Highway.  The theft is still under investigation but the value of the
missing item is estimated at $600.00. The theft happened between the
evening hours on 9/4/08 and the morning of 9/5/08 from the interior of
an unlocked vehicle parked at the residence.  AST investigation
continues.

Type: Warrant Arrest
Text: On 9/8/2008 at approximately 2236 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Christina Demming, age 29, of Palmer at her residence on Trunk
Road near Palmer Wasilla Highway, Palmer. Troopers went to Christina’s
house to conduct a welfare check.  Investigation revealed that Demming
had an outstanding $250.00 misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on
the original charge of Driving while License Suspended. Christina was
arrested and transported to Mat Su Pretrial where she was remanded.

Type: Expected Home Death

Text:  On 9-9-2008 at approximately 1537 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of an expected home death at a residence in
Wasilla.  Investigation revealed that Joann Schwochert age 68 of Wasilla
died of natural causes. The SME was notified and released the body to
the Next of Kin. Comfort One was on file.  No foul play is suspected.

Type: Criminal Mischief IV

Text: On 9-9-2008 at approximately 1532 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to report of criminal mischief at a residence on Church Road
in Wasilla.  Investigation revealed that someone had kicked the rear
door in, breaking the door frame on the residence.  The damage to the
property was estimated to be approximately $100.00.  Investigation is
continuing.  Anyone having information should contact Alaska State
Troopers at 373-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

Type: Passing a School Bus with Flashing Red Lights Activated
Text: On 9-9-2008 at approximately 1435 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report from a First Student bus driver, that a silver Toyota
Camary passed the school bus when its red lights were activated.  AST
contacted the registered owner of the vehicle, Erica Matich age 18 of
Wasilla, at her residence.  Matich was issued a summons to appear in
court for passing a school bus with its flashing red lights activated.

Case number: 08-75675

Type: Assault III-DV

Text: On 9/9/08 at approximately 1000 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Kotzebue responded to the Village of Deering for a report of a Domestic
Violence assault that occurred between two adult males at their
residence in the village.  The complainant reported that on 9/5/08, he
had been put in a “headlock” during a physical altercation with another
occupant of the residence, and that he could not breathe for
approximately 30 seconds.  Both parties provided conflicting accounts of
the altercation. The evidence on scene was inconclusive as to who was
the primary physical aggressor in the incident.  Neither party had any
visible injury, nor were there any witnesses to the altercation.
Neither party sought medical treatment following the altercation.
Alcohol did not appear to have been a factor in the incident.  Charges
will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office in Kotzebue for
review.

Location: Delta Junction

Case number: 08-75243

Type: Criminal Mischief 3rd degree

Text: On 9-8-08 at approximately 0947 hours, AST received a report from
DOT reporting damage to a tractor. Investigation revealed DOT parked a
John Deere tractor with a brush cutter near the Clearwater Fire Station
on Thursday afternoon.  When the DOT employee went back on Monday
morning several windows had been broken out of the tractor.  Damage to
the tractor is estimated at $2000.00.   The case is under investigation
by AST.

Location: Homer
Case number: 08-75453
Type: Murder / Suicide Investigation
Text: On 09/08/2008, at approximately 2017 hours, AST received a report
from a 13 year old juvenile that a shooting had just occurred at a
residence near mile 13 of East End Road, in the Homer area.
Investigation revealed that a disturbance occurred between Jessie Otton,
age 40, of Homer and Brian Howard, age 44, of Homer.  During the
altercation a firearm was discharged killing Howard inside the
residence.  Responding Troopers also discovered Otton was also shot and
had died.   OCS was contacted and responded to care for the juvenile.
The State Medical Examiners office was contacted about the incident and
autopsy was requested.  Peninsula Memorial responded to the scene and
recovered the deceased.  Next of kin have been notified.  The
investigation is continuing.

Type: SAR / Death Investigation

Text: On 09/08/08, at approximately 0826 hours, Brent Sutton notified
AST that his brother in law James Stenglein had been missing from their
residence located near mile 88 of the Sterling Hwy for more then a day.
Investigation revealed that James left the residence sometime after
midnight and walked in the woods near the house.  A search of the area
using an AST helicopter, AST K-9 ANCOR, and local Troopers resulted in
negative findings and the search was called off due to darkness.  On
09/09/08, the search continued with the aid of the AST helicopter, K-9
Sky and his handler from the Alaska Search and Rescue Dogs, along with
local Wildlife Troopers.  James was located by K-9 Sky, in a heavy
wooded area approximately one quarter mile from the residence where he
died from a self inflected gunshot wound.  Alcohol and drugs do NOT
appear to be involved and no foul play is suspected  The State Medical
Examiners office was notified and released James to the next of kin who
were on scene.

Type:=A0 Take Sub-legal Sheep, Fail to Validate Harvest Tag
Text:=A0 On 9/7/08 Anchor Point Wildlife Troopers cited Scott McAloon,
38, of Homer for harvesting a dall sheep that did not meet the legal
horn requirements of full curl. Investigation showed the sheep was taken
from the Kenai Mountains.=A0 McAloon was also cited for failing to
validate a sheep harvest ticket before leaving the kill site.
=A0Arraignment is scheduled in Homer District Court on 10-1-08.

Type: Sport Fish Violation

Text: On 9-7-08 Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted 45 year old William
Starnes Jr. at the Swanson River in Nikiski.  Investigation revealed
Starnes was in possession of ten Coho Salmon where the limit was two.
Starnes was issued a summons and his bail was set at $270.00.

Text:On 9-6-08, Clifford C. DOCKTER, 46 yoa of Fort Richardson AK, was
cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Delta for Failing to Leave
Evidence of Sex naturally attached to a bull Moose he had taken. Total
bail amount is set at $160.00 with an optional court appearance set for
10-9-08 in Delta District Court.

Sterling, pled No Contest to charges of taking an overlimit of Caribou
from the 40 Mile Caribou Herd.  Redmond was fined $1500 with $500
suspended, ordered to pay $850 restitution to the state, on probation
for 2 years and forfeited the Caribou and Rifle used to the state.

HEINEKEN took a 45 inch, 3 brow tine bull Moose in a 50 inch/4 brow tine
