East Dorset, Vermont – Cultivation of Marijuana – Possession of Narcotics

On 09/03/08 members of the Vermont Drug Task Force were joined by Troopers from the Vermont State Police in executing a search warrant at the home of Benjamin Gates in the town of East Dorset, VT. During the search 24 Marijuana plants were seized that were growing on the property. Also found was pre packaged marijuana with scales and packaging material, an assortment of prescription pills and cash.
The search warrant was obtained by information that was received by the Vermont Drug Task Force. Both Gates and Merrow will be arranged in Bennington District court on 10/20/08 to answer to both felony and misdemeanor charges ranging from Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Depressant, Stimulant narcotic drug.
