In an effort to maintain its motor vehicle dealer license, Lenz Auto Sales & Service, Inc., 536 S. Seymour St., Fond du Lac, agrees to follow better business practices. The dealership admitted that it:
Failed to submit title and registration applications to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) within seven days of a vehicle sale as required by state law,
Advertised a sale price on vehicles advertised “for lease only,” and
Sold new motor vehicles for which the dealership is not franchised.
Lenz Auto Sales & Service, Inc. will allow agents or employees of WisDOT to inspect all business records necessary to verify that it has discontinued these illegal practices and is in compliance with state law.
The agreement is part of a special order issued by David Schwarz, administrator of the state Department of Administration’s Division of Hearings and Appeals. The action came as the result of an investigation by the WisDOT Division of Motor Vehicles’ Dealer and Agent Section. Violation of a special order is grounds for denial, suspension, or revocation of a representative license.
