Major Incidents Reported for September 02, 2008
CCW/Weapons under Disability/Possession of a Dangerous Ordnance/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/Drug Abuse Marijuana:
Around 7:30 last night, officers responded to the 700 block of Iona Ave for two highly intoxicated males with guns. Officers arrived on scene and observed one male, Benjamin B. Terril, 50, on the front porch of his residence. Officers patted Terril down and found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun in his pants pocket. Terril was immediately placed under arrest.
Terril gave officers consent to search his residence for addition weapons. Officers found additional guns and ammunition inside the house. Officers also found explosive materials. The officers then exited the house and notified the Summit County Bomb Squad.
The Summit County Bomb Squad and agents from the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Division responded. Several explosives inside of the house were removed.

Felony reports for September 2, 2008
Alfred B. Jones, 27, 1129 Tarson Tr., Akron, Ohio, was charged with Money Laundering. Alfred conducted a transaction knowing that the property involved in the transaction is the proceeds of some form of unlawful activity.
Karmen Beckett, 29, 225 Ira Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Money Laundering. Karmen conducted a transaction knowing that the property involved in the transaction is the proceeds of some form of unlawful activity.
Lizea Benford, 33, 126 N. Arlington St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Money Laundering. Lizea conducted a transaction knowing that the property involved in the transaction is the proceeds of some form of unlawful activity.
Adam J. Destefanis, 25, 84 Highpoint Dr. #63, Medina, Ohio was charged with Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity.
Crystal L. Tyler, 27, 1898 Carter Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity.
Anthony W. Ramsey, 36, 720 Bellevue Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity.
Naketia S. Johnson, 33, 692 Roselle Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity.
John D. Thrash, 37, 1273 Kellog Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Breaking and Entering. John got into a verbal agrument with an employee at the Rite Aid on Brown St. Rite Aid called the police and when they arrived, John ran out and then broke into 551 1/2 Baird St. to hide. John was apprehended by officers at this location.
Benjamin B. Terril, 50, 746 Iona Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon Gun, Weapons under Disability, Possession of Dangerous Ordance, Drug Paraphernalia and Drug Abuse Marijuana. The police were called to the above address for a suspicious person with a gun. Benjamin was found at the residence and was armed with a gun. A consent search of the house was done and other evidence was found.
Otto D. Christian, 49, 711 Crestview Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Receiving Stolen Property. Otto was stopped at Princeton and Paris driving a stolen vehicle.
Sean T. Carmichael, 43, 1325 7th Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Receiving Stolen Property. Sean was driving a stolen vehicle that was stopped at 965 Lawton.
Kevin L. Vest, 37, 1315 W. Waterloo Rd., Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Kevin has a prior conviction for aggravated assault from 1-25-93, domestic violence from 5-5-06 and a conviction for domestic violence menacing from 2-4-97.
