Location: Palmer

Type: DUI Felony, DWLR
Text: On 9-1-2008 at approximately 1445 hours, Palmer AST received a
REDDI report of a vehicle driving erratically at approximately mile 106
of the Glenn Hwy heading south. At approximately 1556 hours, AST
observed the vehicle reported in the REDDI report to be parked at a
pullout near mile 71 of the Glenn Hwy. AST contacted the driver
identified as, 49 year old Robert Wilson of Wasilla. Subsequent
investigation revealed that Wilson was operating the vehicle under the
influence of alcohol and driving on a revoked license. Investigation
also revealed Wilson has been convicted of DUI twice in the past ten
years. Wilson was arrested for Felony DUI and DWLR. Wilson was remanded
to the Matsu Pre-Trial Facility and held on $10,000 bail.

Type: MVC-I - Department Vehicle
Text: On 9/2/08 at approximately 1130 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a department vehicle
near France Road and Palmer-Wasilla Highway near Palmer. Investigation
revealed an unmarked 2006 Ford Freestar van, driven by Investigator
Curtis Vik, 30 of Eagle River, was attempting to turn left onto the
Palmer-Wasilla Highway from a driveway to proceed westbound when it
struck a 2008 Subaru Outback station wagon, driven by Margaretha Venema,
38 of Palmer, which was traveling eastbound on Palmer-Wasilla Highway.
All occupants reported wearing safety belts. Venema reported minor
injuries and was later transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
Total vehicle damage was estimated at $15,000. The investigation is
continuing.

Text: On 9/2/08 at approximately 1418 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to near the intersection of Prince William Circle and Trunk
Road for a report of a motor vehicle collision. Investigation revealed
Crystal Wold, age 16 of Palmer, swerved off of Trunk Road to avoid
objects in the road and then collided with a telephone pole on the side
of the road. The telephone pole was knocked down and Wold’s truck is
estimated as a total loss. Wold reported wearing her seatbelt and was
uninjured.

Text: On 9-2-2008 at approximately 1231 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to report of a two vehicle collision on Palmer-Wasilla Hwy and
near Snider Drive in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Cynthia Wolfe
age 38 of Wasilla, was traveling east in a 1997 Chevy Suburban on the
Palmer-Wasilla Hwy, and had stopped waiting for a vehicle in front of
her that was turning left. Adam Ward age 18 of Wasilla was traveling
east in his 2004 Toyota Tacoma pickup on the Palmer-Wasilla Hwy, when he
collided into the rear of Wolfe’s vehicle. Wolfe’s vehicle sustained
approximately $500.00 in damage. Adams vehicle sustained approximately
$1500.00 in damage. Both parties reported wearing their seatbelt at the
time of the collision. Ward was issued a citation for failure to
exercise due care to avoid a collision.

Text: On Monday, 9-1-08, at about 1429 hours, United States Coast Guard
Military Police requested assistance at an Aviation Loop residence for a
reported domestic assault. Subsequent investigation by State Troopers
revealed 30 YOA Jeffree Clemond Craigwell of Kodiak placed a family
member in imminent fear of physical injury when he threatened her.
Craigwell was subsequently arrested and remanded at the Kodiak Jail on a
charge of Assault 4-DV.

Text: On 9/2/08 at about 0600 hours Gambell VPOs received a complaint
that Kelly Slwooko, age 30 of Gambell, took an ATV and was driving
around the village, possibly huffing. Slwooko was contacted at 0820
hours and subsequently arrested for Vehicle Theft II, Driving Under the
Influence, Reckless Endangerment (3 counts), Violation of Conditions of
Release and Probation Violation. Slwooko was transported to Nome and
lodged at Anvil Mountain Correctional Center.

Text: On 9/1/08 at about 1645 hours, Saint Michael VPOs received a
complaint from a woman reporting her boyfriend threatened to beat her up
and when he kicked a baby stroller, the stroller landed on her one year
old son . Timothy Lockwood, age 28 of Saint Michael was subsequently
arrested for Assault IV, domestic violence and additionally charged with
Reckless Endangerment. Lockwood was transported to Nome and lodged at
Anvil Mountain Correctional Center.

Text: On 09/01/08 at approximately 1652 hours, troopers conducted a
traffic stop on a 1989 Ford Ranger truck for speeding. The stop was
conducted at mile 311 of the Richardson Highway. The driver was
identified as Gustavo Chavero Chavero, age 21, of Fairbanks. Gustavo
was issued a summons for Driving Without a Valid Driver’s License and a
citation for speeding. Gustavo was released on scene and the vehicle
was released to the registered owner.

Type: Driving Under the Influence / Violating Conditions of Release
Text: On 9/1/08 at approximately 2100 hours, AST received a report of a
vehicle parked on the side of the road at mile post 290.2 of the Parks
Hwy. The complainant reported that the vehicle looked suspicious
because no one was around and the windows were open and it appeared
unsecured. Investigation revealed that David Eric York, 29 of
Fairbanks, was intoxicated and in control of the vehicle. York provided
a breath sample and a blood sample. York was transported to Fairbanks
Correctional Center where his records showed he was out on bail from
another charge and was under conditions of release issued by the
courts. York was also charged with Violating Conditions of Release for
consuming alcohol and disobeying state law. York was remanded and held
until arraignment on 9/2/08. Investigation complete.

Text: On August 29th, 2008 at approximately 2150 hours Alaska Wildlife
Troopers Sitka Post stopped vehicle EKJ397 near 4507 Halibut Point Road
for an equipment infraction. Investigation showed the operator,
Mitchell G. HERZBERG, age 20, of Sitka had operated the vehicle while
his Oregon operators license was suspended. HERZBERG was issued a
summons for driving while his license is suspended and given a court
arraignment date of September 2, 2008 at 1330 hours in the Sitka
District Court.

Location: Arctic Dome – 70 Mile River. Tok Enforcement Area

Type: Transport Antlers Before Meat
Text: On 9/1/08 Tok AWT investigated a report that a group of
non-resident hunters had not salvaged the majority of their Caribou meat
while hunting in the 70-Mile river area north of Tok. An investigation
by AWT revealed that James K. Bouchard, 52 yoa and Michael L. Bouchard,
55 yoa, both of Montana, had taken Caribou and only initially salvaged
the backstraps and antlers. Upon returning to the kill sites the day
after the animals were shot, both had been taken over by different bears
and subsequently no other meat was able to be salvaged. On 9/2/08 AWT
issued summonses to appear in court to both hunters charging them each
with one count of transporting antlers from the kill site before all
edible meat had been salvaged. Arraignment is set for September 15th in
Tok Court.
