Hartford Police Make Arrest in August 9th Homicide

(Hartford) -  Detectives of the Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes Division have charged a 17 year old male from Hartford with attempted murder in connection with the August 9th, 2008 shooting incident that led to one homicide and six other injured victims.

A youthful offender currently on probation, the suspect was taken into custody without incident by Major Crimes Division detectives on Wednesday, August 27th, in the vicinity of Bowles Park in Hartford, shortly after they secured an arrest warrant charging him with attempted murder, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharged of a gun, aggravated assault in the first degree and risk of injury to a minor.  A $2 million bond was set by the judge who issued the warrant.  The suspect is known to be a member of the local West Hell street gang.
