Type:  Overdue Boater
Text:  On 08/26/08 at 1648 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a
report of an overdue boater in Berners Bay.  Investigation revealed 67
yoa Horst Schramm of Juneau and a younger unidentified male traveled up
the Berners River in an airboat and were 2 days overdue on the return.
While a search was being organized, Schramm and his passenger returned
home in good health.

Type: Theft

Text: On 8/25/2008 at approximately 1000 hours the Alaska State Troopers
received a report of missing safety equipment that was taken from a
school bus sometime between 8/17/2008 and 8/22/2008.  The value of the
equipment is valued at approximately $400.00.  This case is still under
investigation.  The Alaska State Troopers are asking for assistance from
citizens with solving this crime.  Anyone with information pertaining to

Type: Theft III

Text: On 8/26/2008 at approximately 1630 hours, the Alaska State
Troopers in Ketchikan received a report of three stolen bikes from a
residence on Garland Ct.  The three bicycles were last scene during the
evening of 8/25/2008 and were discovered missing the morning of
8/26/2008.  The total value of the bicycles is estimated at
approximately $200.00.  This case is still under investigation.  The
Alaska State Troopers are asking for assistance from citizens with
solving this crime.  Anyone with information pertaining to this incident

Type: DUI/NVOL

Text: On 8/27/08, at 1300 hours, Audrey Howard, age 41 of Angoon, was
arrested for Driving Under the Influence after the investigation
revealed that she had been driving a vehicle erratically in Angoon.
Howard was arrested and then transported to the Angoon Public Safety
Office where she was further processed.  Howard was issued a summons for
DUI and also for Driving Without a Valid License and then she was
released to a responsible party.

Text: On 08/26/08, at approximately 1403 hours, AST contacted Kurt J.
Gore, age 29, of Eagle River, after stopping his vehicle near mile 38.5
of the Glenn Highway for an equipment violation.  An investigation
revealed Gore was driving on a suspended license.  Gore was issued a
summons for DWLS and released at the scene.

Text: On 08/26/08 at approximately 1515 hours, AST contacted Jeremy S.
Jacobson, age 20, of Wasilla, near mile 38.5 of the Glenn Highway after
stopping the vehicle he was driving for an equipment violation.  An
investigation revealed Jacobson was driving with a suspended license.
Jacobson was issued a summons for DWLS and release at the scene.

Text:  On 08/26/2008, at approximately 1654 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a theft at Bow St. near Wasilla. Investigation
revealed a 10 ft. plastic boat valued at $2,000 was stolen from a
residence at Rainbow Lake off Pittman. Investigation continues. Anyone

Type:  Felony DUI, Felony Refusal, DWLR
Text:   On 08/26/08 at 1818 hours, Alaska State Troopers arrested Cathy
L. Atwell, age 44, of Anchorage, for felony DUI and Driving While
License Revoked.  Atwell was reportd as a REDDI (Report Every Drunk
Driver Immediatly) vehicle at about 1730 hours on Trunk Road.  Troopers
contacted Atwell as she was stopped in the middle of the intersection of
Wasilla Fishook and Village Loop slumped over the wheel.  An
investigation determined Atwell was DUI and that this was her third DUI.
Atwell’s driver’s license was also revoked.  Atwell also refused to
provide breath sample and was subsequently charged with felony refusal.
Atwell was remanded to Matsu Pretrial on $10,000 cash only plus a court
approved third party custodian.  Atwell’s vehicle was impounded.

Type: Burglary, Criminal Mischief 4, And Theft 2

Text:  On 08/26/2008, at approximately 1535 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a burglary at a residence on Satisfied Drive near
Wasilla. Investigation revealed the garage door to the residence was
opened by force. A handgun and a 46 inch TV valued at $2,000 were stolen
from the residence. Investigation continues. Anyone with any

Type: DWLR

Text: On 8/26/08 at approximately 1900 hours, Alaska State Troopers
stopped a Dodge Pickup at Big Lake Road and Meadowwood Dr. in Big Lake,
for a moving violation.  The driver was identified as Dakota Bell, age
32 of Houston.  Investigation revealed that Bell was driving with a
revoked license.  Bell was issued a summons to appear in court and the
vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

Type: Burglary I

Text: On 08-26-08 at approximately 1630 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a burglary of a residence located off S Willow Lane,
Wasilla.  Investigation revealed forced entry to the residence by prying
open the front door, resulting in damage of approximately $50.
Approximately $400 in household items were taken from the residence.  At
this time the case is under investigation.  Anyone with information

Text: On 08/27/08 at approximately 1704 hours AST contacted Eric J.
Brinegar (39 YOA of Wasilla) at his residence on Mayflower Lane in
Wasilla for a welfare check after it was reported that he was
intoxicated and shooting his firearm in his residence. Investigation
revealed that Brinegar shot a round into the upstairs apartment.
Brinegar was arrested for Misconduct Involving Weapons II.  Brinegar was
remanded at Mat Su Pretrial on $1,000 Bail

Text:   On 8/26/08 at approximately 2246 hours, the AST South Central
DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near mile 36 of the Glenn Hwy. in
Palmer for speeding.  Investigation revealed Kyle B. Tritch, age 26, of
Palmer, was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. 
Tritch was arrested for DUI and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility
where he was held on a $250.00 bail.

Type: Vehicle Theft 1st 
Text: On 8-26-2008 at approximately 1500 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a vehicle theft from property located near Sandy
Nook Cir. in Wasilla.  Investigation revealed that someone had stolen a
blue 1982 Ford F150 pickup bearing AK license plate 1344BK that was
parked near the road on the property.  Investigation is continuing.

Location: Willow

Case number: 08-71619

Type: Motor vehicle Collision - Damage / DUI

Text: On 08/27/08 at approximately 0530 hours, Troopers responded to
mile 77 of the Parks Highway near Willow to a report of a vehicle that
collided with a telephone pole. Investigation revealed that Joseph
Robert Peryalans, age 53 of Trapper Creek, was driving CMX482, a green,
1992, Ford Explorer northbound on the Parks Highway when the vehicle
Peryalans lost control of the vehicle. CMX482 left the roadway and
collided head-on with a telephone/power pole. The collision resulted in
significant front-end damage to the vehicle and the pole was knocked
over causing live wires to stretch across the Parks Highway. The Parks
Highway was closed for approximately thirty minutes while emergency
crews worked on removing the live power lines from the roadway. Further
investigation revealed that Perylans was impaired and he was arrested
for DUI. Perylans’s vehicle was towed from the scene by D&D Towing.
Damage to Peryalan’s vehicle is estimated to be $10,000. MEA estimated
the damage to the power pole to be approximately $10,000. Peryalans was
issued a citation for Due Care and was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial
where he was charged with DUI and held on $1,500 bail. Investigation is
ongoing.

Type: Warrant Arrest / Providing False Information
Text: On 08/27/2008 at approximately 1004 hours, Alaska State troopers
responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Rainbow Street
in Wasilla. Joseph E. Link, age 20 of Wasilla, was contacted during the
investigation. Link was found to have two outstanding arrest warrants;
one for failure to appear to arraignment with an original charge of a
driving violation and the second for alcohol importation. Link provided
a false name after he had already been identified by the other parties
involved. Link was arrested for the two warrants and for Providing False
Information. Link was remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial with $1,100.00 bail

report to jail warrant; original charge Driving Without a Valid Driver’s
License.  Johnson was remanded at the Kodiak Jail with (5) days to
serve.

Type: Assault IV x 2, Disorderly Conduct, Making a False Report and
Attempted Assault IV
Text: On 08-26-2008 at 0214hrs The AK Marine Highway vessel MV
TUTSEMENIA radioed to the AK Marine HWY Terminal that they requested
Alaska State Troopers met the vessel when in docked in Kodiak for a
passenger that had assaulted members of the crew. AST and the Kodiak
Police Department met the MV TUSTEMENIA when she docked in Kodiak at
0302hrs 08-26-2008. AST investigation revealed a white male currently
identified as John Doe assaulted crew members and provide false
identification to both to the AK Marine Highway and AST. Alcohol is a
factor in this incident. Doe was arrested and charged with two counts of
Assault IV one count of Attempted Assault, Making a False Report and
Disorderly Conduct.

Text: On Tuesday, 8-26-08, at about 1637 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted 38 YOA Timothy Michael Bouray of Kodiak in a silver 2000
Mercury Sable on Murphy Way.  Bouray was subsequently arrested on (2)
counts of Violating a Stalking Order and (1) count of Violation of
Condition of Release.  Bouray was remanded at the Kodiak Jail without
incident.

Type: Probation Violation

Text: On 8/27/08 at about 0300 hours, Gambell VPOs responded to a
Gambell residence to remove Tony Iworrigan.  Iworrigan had a strong odor
of homebrew, bloodshot eyes and swaying balance. Iworrigan provided a
sample of breath on the PBT revealing a breath alcohol content of .209%.
 Iworrigan is on probation in Nome District Court case 2NO-08-346CR with
conditions not to possess or consume alcohol.  Iworrigan was arrested
for probation violation and transported to Nome.

Text:  On 8/27/08, Alaska State Troopers and the Koliganek VPSO arrested
Gust Johnson, age 29 of Koliganek after an investigation revealed he
violated his court ordered conditions of release.  Johnson was
originally charged with Assault 4 and Violation of Release Conditions,
but was released to a third party in late July 2008.  Johnson was
remanded to the Dillingham Jail.

Type:  Assault IV Domestic Violence

Text:  On 08-27-08, at 1019 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a
report of a disturbance at 2545 Carrie Lynn Drive in North Pole.
Investigation revealed that Dayla Fulton-Leffel, age 35 of North Pole
had assaulted an adult male. Fulton-Leffel was transported to and
remanded at FCC where she was held without bail.

Location: Fairbanks- Mile 65.6 Elliott Hwy
Case number: 08-71655
Type: MVC-Fatal

Text: On 8-27-08, at approximately 0918 hours, AST received a report of
a motorcycle collision with serious injuries at mile 65.6 of the Elliott
Highway.  The investigation revealed that Donald A. Cornell-age 64, and
Daniel Vanderhorst-age 61, both from Las Vegas, Nevada were driving
separate motorcycles northbound at approximately mile 65.6 of the
Elliott Hwy when the motorcycle Cornell was operating struck the rear of
Vanderhorst’s motorcycle as Vanderhorst was attempting to make a
right-hand turn to exit the roadway.  As a result of the collision both
motorcycles ended up on their sides and both operators were thrown to
the asphalt roadway.  It is estimated that both motorcycles were
traveling approximately 25 mph.  Cornell received serious head injuries
and was pronounce dead at the scene.  Vanderhorst was uninjured and
required no medical attention.  Both drivers were wearing helmets.  No
drugs or alcohol suspected.  No citations will be issued.

Type: Driving Under the Influence

Text: On 08-26-08 at approximately 2230 hours, commercial truck
operators on the Parks Highway notified Troopers that there was an
impaired female operating a Toyota Landcruiser between mile 166 and mile
176.  The female reportedly parked in the middle of the roadway, drove
north in the southbound lane, and was intoxicated.  Investigation
revealed that Heather MOSS, 34 of Alaska and Washington, was highly
intoxicated and had been operating the vehicle.  MOSS was uncooperative
and was arrested.  MOSS was transported to the Fairbanks Correctional
Center on a $1500 bail.  Investigation complete.

Type: Theft in the Third Degree

Text: On 08-26-08, Troopers were notified of the 08-25-08 theft of
between $400 and $700 from a dwelling in Healy.  Investigation revealed
that Brian BURR, 29 of Anchorage, Hawaii, or Tennessee, was responsible
for the theft.  An arrest warrant has been requested for BURR for the
crime of Theft in the Third Degree.  Anybody knowing BURR’s location is
asked to contact Troopers at 683-2202.  Investigation complete.

Case number:  08-70520
Type:  Death Investigation (non-criminal)
Text:  On 08-23-08 at approximately 1412 hours, Troopers responded to an
accidental death in the Caribou Hills. Trooper investigation revealed
Sherrill Yates-Lukinich, age 48, of Ninilchik was attacked by her stud
horse. Lukinich suffered life threatening injuries and passed away prior
to emergency responders arriving. Next of kin was on scene.  No foul
play is suspected. Lukinich body was released to Kenai Peninsula
Mortuary.

Type: MVC-I

Text: On 8-27-2008 at approximately 1500 hours, Soldotna AST responded
to approximately 19.5 mile K Beach Road for a reported 4 vehicle
collision.  Investigation reveled a 1996 Saturn driven by a 17 year old
Soldotna female struck the rear of another vehicle.  The collision
caused a chain reaction resulting in two other vehicles sustaining
damage.  Six (6) people were transported by ambulance to the hospital
with unknown injuries.  Two vehicles were towed from the scene with
extensive damage and two vehicles were driven from the scene with minor
damage.

Text: On 8/23/08 at 0230 hours, Michael David Hutton, age 32 of Kasilof,
was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol after he was
stopped by Alaska State Troopers for a traffic violation at Lovers Lane
and the Sterling Highway in Soldotna. Hutton was remanded at Wildwood
Pretrial Facility on $500 bail.

Location: Camel Back Mountain

Case Number 08-68796

Type: Take Caribou Same Day Airborne

Text: On 8-20-08, 25 year old hris Bybee of McGrath pled Guilty in
McGrath District Court to one count of Taking Big Game Same Day
Airborne. The charge resulted after an investigation showed that Bybee
had shot a bull caribou near Camel Back Mountain in Game Management Unit
21A on the same day he had flown in a helicopter doing core drilling for
a mining exploration company. A four wheeler was used during the actual
caribou hunt, which occued in a different area than where the helicopter
flying occured earlier in the day.

Bybee was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended. He was
fined $5,000 with $3,000 suspended. The illegal caribou meat and antlers
were forfeited to the State of Alaska, and he was placed on probation
for 2 years with no fish or game violations.

Type: Take Sub Legal Dall Sheep

Text: On 8-27-08, 49 year old Lex Patten of Anchorage pled Guilty to one
count of taking or assisting in the taking of a sub legal dall sheep.
Patten was fined $4,000 with  $2,000 suspended. The sheep horns, meat,
and cape were forfeited to the State of Alaska. Patten was placed on
probation for two years with no fish or game violations.  Donnie Olsson,
31 years old of Bozeman, MT also pled guilty to one count of taking a
sub legal dall sheep, and was placed on probation for one year.

The charges resulted after an investigation showed that during a Guided
sheep hunt in Game Management Unit 19C near Cathedral Creek, Patten had
instructed his hunting client, Donnie Olsson to shoot a dall sheep ram
which turned out to be six years of age with 7/8 curl horns.
