Text: On 08/16/08 at about 1011 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Ketchikan arrested Elissa Trumble, age 20, of Ketchikan on a $3000.00
District Court Warrant.   The original charge was Failure to Stop at
Direction of Police Officer.  E. Trumble was remanded to KCC with
$3000.00 bail.

Text: On 8/19/2008 at 2319 hours State Troopers received a report that
Allan Quick, age 54, JoAnn Quick, age 48, and nephew, 12-year-old Jesse
Quick, all of Juneau were overdue from a hunting trip in the Sandy Beach
area of Douglas Island. The party was due back into Juneau proper on
Tuesday 8/19/2008 at or about 1700 hours, but have yet to arrive. The
Quicks are equipped with camping gear, food and water.  At 0719 hours on
8/20/2008 members from Juneau Mountain Rescue began a ground search for
the family.

Type:  Assault III, DUI, Refusal, Reckless Driving, and Resisting Arrest
Text:  On 8/19/2008, approx. 2205 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded
to a reckless driving complaint that started near Trunk Road and Bogard
Road in Palmer and continued to Seldon Road near Snow Goose in Wasilla
where AST was able to stop the suspect vehicle.  Investigation revealed
that 24 yoa Jeffery M. Kinzle of Palmer was operating a green 1994 Ford
Tempo while intoxicated when he nearly collided with another motorist at
the Trunk Road and Bogard Road intersection in Palmer.  Kinzle was
arrested for DUI and Reckless Driving.  After being arrested he
struggled with officers, refused to provide a breath sample for
DataMaster, and made repeated death threats to a law enforcement
officer.  Kinzle was remanded to MSPT on charges of Assault in the Third
Degree, DUI, Reckless Driving, Refuse Breath Test, and Resisting Arrest.
Kinzle was held on a total $5,000.00 cash only bail and a court
appointed third party requirement.

Text: At about 1015 hours, 8-19-08, Robert R. Bowlin Jr., 44 years of
age from Wasilla, was contacted by the Judicial Services Warrant

warrant was for Failure to Comply with Conditions of Probation on the
original charge of Felony DUI, Driving While License was

Text: On 8-20-08 at approximately 0755 hours, Alaska State Troopers
conducted a traffic stop on Church Rd., near Glacier Ave., Wasilla.  The
operator of the vehicle was identified as Ryan A. Boss, age 19, of
Wasilla.  Investigation revealed that Boss had a warrant for his arrest
for failure to appear on the original charge of Minor Consuming Alcohol.
Boss was arrested, transported and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where he
was held on $200.00 bail.

Text:  On 8-18-08, at approximately 1418 hours, AST stopped a 2002
Pontiac sedan near milepost 64 Seward highway operated by Dustin O.
MATHEWS age 27 of Anchorage for a speeding violation. MATHEWS was
driving with a revoked driver’s license and was ordered to appear for a
mandatory court appearance at a future date. The vehicle was released to
a licensed driver.

Type: Criminal Mischief/Assault IV/Reckless Driving
Text:  On 8-19-08, at approximately 1418 hours, AST received a report
from Adak that a local resident forcibly drove his ATV into a building
and a federal government truck over a dispute with an employee. A
suspect was contacted, identified and then taken into custody by the
city of Adak and escorted off the property. The damage to the building
and vehicle was estimated to be $2,000. AST investigation is continuing.

Attorney’s Office against the juvenile.

Text: On 8/8/08 Aniak AST contacted Randol Lang, 18, during an
investigation.  It was discovered that Lang had been drinking alcohol.
Lang provided a breath sample by means of a PBT which showed a BrAC of
.019 several hours after Lang indicated he had stopped drinking.
A USC was issued to Lang with a date set with the Aniak Court.

Text: On 8/20/08, VPSO Leonard Raymond arrested Robert Pete 37 of
Stebbins for Disorderly Conduct after receiving a complaint that Otten
was causing a disturbance.  Alcohol was involved.  Pete will be
arraigned in Stebbins.

Text: On 8/14/08, VPSO Leonard Raymond responded to the airport at the
request of the Bering Air agent.  Investigation revealed that the pilot
had observed a passenger drinking alcohol during the flight.  Once the
plane landed VPSO Raymond observed the passenger Joanna Noble age 48 of
Stebbins drinking from a bottle of alcohol.  The bottle of alcohol was
seized and Noble was released, she will be summonsed for a single count
of Importation of Alcohol.  The village of Stebbins has voted to ban the
importation and sale of alcohol.

Type:  MCA, Probation Violation, Resisting Arrest

Text: On 8/16/08, VPSO Leonard Raymond responded to a report of minors
being intoxicated.  Investigation revealed that Richard Hunt, age 20 and
a 17 YO male were intoxicated.  The juvenile was released to his parents
and will be summonsed to court.  Hunt ran away from VPSO Raymond.  On
8/18, VPSO Raymond located Hunt and when told he was under arrest Hunt
resisted, VPSO Raymond was able to restrain Hunt and he was later
transported to Nome for arraignment, on charges of MCA-habitual
offender, Resisting Arrest and multiple probation violations.

Type: Driving Under the Influence and Driving while License revoked

Text: On 8/16/08 at 1220 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received
report that there was a vehicle driven by Goosma Peterson Jr., age 23,
of Aniak and that he was intoxicated.  Investigation revealed that
Goosma was operating a vehicle under the influence and driving with a
revoked license.  Goosma was arrested and transported to Bethel.

Text: On 8/11/08, VPSO Leonard Raymond received a report from Carol

during the night.  The 4-wheeler was located two days later with minor

Text:  On 8/14/08 at approximately 1436 hours, Alaska State Troopers
Emmonak Post received a report from an adult female who stated while she
was sleeping, a 31 YOA male who is know to the family entered her room
and attempted to have sexual intercourse with her.  The female stated
she was able to get away before any further incident.  AST is
investigating.

Text:  On 8/19/08 at approximately 0930 hours, Alaska State Troopers
Emmonak Post received a report from Andrea Charlie of Nunam Iqua,
stating someone broke into the Swan Lake Store, where Charlie is
employed. Charlie stated someone cut the chain and padlock and was able
to gain entrance into the store. Charlie stated eight boxes of shotgun
shells had been taken from the store. No other items were reported taken
or damaged. Charlie stated this is the third break in the last two
months.  There are no suspects or leads.  Alaska State Troopers are
requesting any citizen who has information regarding this report to call

Post is investigating a report received from an adult female, who stated
while she was walking, she was approached by a 22 YOA male, who is known
to her and offered her a ride.  The male took the female to a secluded
area and made sexual comments and propositioned her.  The female stated
she was able to leave the area before any further incident occurred.

Type: Overdue Hunters
Text: On 8/20/08 Nome AST received an overdue hunter report at the Nome
post. Nome ABADE conducted an aerial search for Austin Ahmasuk and his 3
daughters who were hunting bear on the Sinuk River and were reported 2
days overdue. The family was found paddling a canoe in the ocean and
headed to Nome, AK. All four individuals waved and appeared fine. Their
original jet boat was found at the mouth of the Sinuk River and appeared
to have broken down.

received a report that Jeannette Noongwook , 57 yoa of Savoonga, had
died.  The investigation revealed that she died as a result if ongoing

Type: Felony Driving Under the Influence
Text: On 08/19/08, at 2220 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted
Michael Mulcahy, 47, of Fairbanks, on University Avenue for improper
driving.  Investigation revealed Mulcahy was operating a motor vehicle
while under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.  A
check of record revealed that Mulcahy had a previous Felony Driving
Under the Influence conviction in 2000.  Mulcahy was transported to the
Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was remanded for Felony DUI and
held at a no bail status.

Type: Criminal Trespass II/Theft IV

Text: On 8/18/08 at approximately 1525 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Galena received a report of gas being stolen out of a boat in Kaltag.
Investigation revealed some time between 0800 hours on 8/17/08 and 1200
hours on 8/18/08 unknown person(s) went onto the boat and stole the gas
out of the tank.  Loss is estimated at $50.00.  Investigation is
continuing.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Alaska

Type: Misconduct involving a Weapon in the 4th Degree.

Text: On 8-17-08 at 0952 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report
from the village of Beaver, that Kyle Wiehl, 23 yoa, was intoxicated,
and firing a firearm into the air. Kyle was subsequently arrested for
Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the 4th Degree, and transported to
Fairbanks Correctional Facility.

Text: On 08-19-08 at approximately 2345 hours, Troopers contacted Yucel
GUREL, 20 of Turkey, and Harun EGEKAN, 19 of Turkey, were contacted by
Troopers in the Aramark Employee Housing area for drinking and
possessing beer.  GUREL and EGEKAN were issued summons for Minor
Possess/Consume Alcohol.  Investigation complete.

Text:  On 8-20-08, at 1547 hours, AST contacted Anthony Martinez, age 19
of Fairbanks at 1979 Peger Road. Investigation revealed that Martinez
had three AST warrants for failure to appear at court on the original
charge of DUI. Martinez was arrested and transported to FCC where he was
held on $450.00 bail.

Text: On 8-20-08 at 0805 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a
report of a theft from a residence on Cheri Way in North Pole. 
Investigation revealed that a Dewalt air compressor was stolen sometime
in the early morning. Investigation is continuing and anyone with
information regarding this theft is asked to call the Alaska State
Troopers at 451-5100.

Type:  Search and Rescue
Text:   On 8-20-08, at 1836 hours, Vincent Leaf called AST and reported
his wife Dorothy, 30, and their 11 year old son and 8 year old daughter
had not returned from berry picking on the Granite Tour Trail,
approximately 38 mile Chena Hot Springs Road.  Preliminary investigation
revealed, Dorothy and the two children had started hiking at 1030 hours,
8-20-08, for a 3-4 mile hike and berry picking and were estimated to
return around 1400 hours.  Sgt Quist flew Helo-2 to the area and Alaska
State Park Rangers were on-scene to assist in the search.  At 2220
hours, Alaska State Park Rangers contacted Helo-2 and advised everyone
had returned safely.

Text:  On 08-19-08 at approximately 1500 hours D.N. age 14 of Homer, was
picked up by Homer Police Department as a runaway.  D.N. was transported
to the Juvenile Intake Facility in Kenai on charges of Assault IV and
Criminal Mischief V Domestic Violence.

Text: On 8/18/08 at approximately 2340, Alaska State Troopers received
the report of an assault from Maggie Baumunk, age 58 of Seward.  The
victim, R.D., age 39 of Seward, was contacted at Providence Seward
Medical Center and it was determined he was cut by a knife on both of
his forearms at a residence near .75 mile Nash Road.  Investigation
revealed R.D. and David Getz, age 58 of Seward, got into an argument.
During the argument, Getz swung a knife at R.D. and cut him on the
forearms.  Getz was contacted at the residence, placed under arrest,
transported to the Seward City Jail, and remanded without bail.

Text: On 8-16-08, at 2245 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Mat-Su West
Post contacted Daniel Barrier, age 26, of Wasilla at Fish Creek.
Investigation revealed Barrier was fishing during a closed period and
retained a silver salmon.  Barrier was issued a citation where bail was
set at $130.00.

Type: Fail to validate harvest ticket

Text: On 8-10-08, 32 year old assistant big game guide Cody Cowles, of
Alexander Creek was cited for failing to validate a sheep harvest
ticket. The charge resulted after Cowles was contacted at a spike camp
on the evening of 8-10-08 with a sheep that he and his hunting client
had harvested approximately eleven hours earlier in a drainage nearby.
The harvest ticket had not been validated at the time of contact.

Type: Take Sub Legal Dall Sheep

Text: On 8-12-08, 49 yaer old Lex Patten of Anchorage was charged with
one count of Taking a sub-legal sheep. 31 year old Donnie Olssen of
Bozeman, MT was aslo charged with one count of taking a sub legal sheep.
The charges resulted after the men were checked in the filed at a guide
camp operated by Litzen Guide Service with a sub legal sheep. An AWT
Trooper determined that the sheep was six years old and had horns with
7/8 curl in and area requiring eight years of age or full curl unless
both horns are broomed, which they were not. The sheep meat, horns, and
lifesize cape were seized as evidence. Patten was guiding Olssen in the
field, and had instructed Olssen to shoot the sheep. Arraignment is
scheduled in McGrath District Court on 8-27-08.

Type: Take Big Game Same Day Airborne

Text: On 8-15-08, 25 year old Chris Bybee of McGrath was charged with
one count of taking big game same day airborne. The charge resulted
after Bybee took a bull caribou near Camel Back Mountain in game
management unit 21A on the evening of August tenth. Bybee and a
companion had left the camp and hunted on four wheelers after returning
from drilling core samples with a helicopter in a different area. The
caribou and rifle were seized, and Bybee is scheduled for arraignment in
McGrath District Court on 8-20-08.

Type: Transport Antlers Before Meat
Text: On 8/18/08, Alaska Wildlife Troopers on aircraft patrol observed a
group of hunters butchering 2 Caribou nearly 2 days after the season had
closed.  AWT was able to land and contact the hunters.  An investigation
showed that the animals had been killed prior to the season ending,
however the hunters had transported the antlers to camp from the kill
site nearly 2 days before salvaging the majority of the meat.  Ryan J.
Pankratz, 26 yoa and Kelly L. Haug, 41 yoa, both of Wasilla, were issued
citations for Transporting Antlers Before Meat.  Arraignment is set for
Sept. 4th in Tok District Court.

Text: On 8/15/08 at 2029 hours, Tok AWT contacted Angie L. David, 23 yoa
of Mentasta, after she stopped to speak to occupants of a vehicle the
Trooper had stopped.  David was contacted and a strong odor of alcohol
was detected.  David failed field sobriety tests and was placed under
arrest for DUI.  A loaded rifle was located in her vehicle and she was
additionally charged with Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 4th
degree.  David was transported to Tok AST where a Datamaster test
revealed her breath alcohol to be .178.  David was lodged at the Tok
holding facility pending bail or arraignment.

Text: On 8/15/08, Tok AWT Troopers contacted Lonnie T. Matthews, 38 yoa
of Anchorage, after he contacted Troopers to report taking a sub-legal
sheep.  Investigation revealed that Matthews had taken a Dall Sheep that
was less than full curl or 8 years old in an area restricted to that
size animal.  Matthews was issued a citation for taking a sub-legal Dall
Sheep and the horns and meat were seized.  Arraignment is set for August
28th in Tok Court.

Text: On 8/15/08 at 2020 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Tok
contacted Marvin J. Sanford, 30 yoa of Mentasta, after the vehicle he
was driving was stopped for numerous violations and having a young child
unsecured in the vehicle.  An investigation revealed that Sanford’s
license was in non-comply status from a previous revocation.  Sanford
was issued a summons to appear in court charged with DWLR/S and released
at the scene.

Text: On 8/10/08 while on a hunting patrol of the 40-Mile Caribou
hunting season, Tok AWT Troopers contacted Richard O. Redmond, 57 yoa of
Sterling.  An investigation revealed that Redmond had shot 2 bull
Caribou when the yearly bag limit for the area is 1 animal.  Redmond was
issued a summons to appear in Tok district court and the second Caribou
was seized as evidence.  Arraignment is set for a future date.
