Morristown Vermont – Stolen Property Arrest / Larceny Investigation

The Morristown Police Department has concluded a theft investigation into Kyle Surprenant of Derby, Vermont. During the lengthy investigation, Police learned Surprenant was responsible for stealing storage container from Rent A Center in Morrisville, Vermont.
Upon further investigation, it was learned that Surprenant had committed multiple other larcenies throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, and Connecticut totaling $115,295.96 in property. Police were able to recover $112,154.20 of this property.
During this investigation Surprenant admitted to stealing the diesel fuel from two tractor-trailers, which were parked off of Route 2 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. This occurred in May of 2008.
Property recovered from this investigation included a Bobcat Skid-steer, Mack Roll-Off truck, industrial air compressor, two all terrain vehicles (ATV’s), small utility trailer, box trailer, zero turn industrial lawn mower, miscellaneous mowing equipment, a large industrial Lincoln welder, several pieces of furniture, industrial size tools, generator, and other miscellaneous items.
Surprenant has cooperative with the Police, which have helped the Police locate the owners of most of the property. Police are still looking for the owners of a Wacker GS-85 generator that was stolen from a service style truck parked at a motel in Newport City.
As a result of this investigation Neil Stanzione of Derby Line was arrested for possession of stolen property. Stanzione was found to be in possession of over $1,000.00 of stolen property.
