Idaho – One-Vehicle Crash Kills One

On Sunday August 17, 2008 at 11:00 pm the Idaho State Police responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash northbound on US Highway 93 at milepost 172 between Shoshone and Richfield. James Kennison, 17 of Richfield was headed north on US Highway 93 in a 1990 Buick LeSabre when a horse appeared in the lane of travel. Kennison attempted to avoid the horse but struck the horse causing the vehicle to go off the right side of the road and overturn. Kennison was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Kennison and his two passengers, Jessica Parker 18 and Chad Bates 18, were not wearing their seatbelts. Parker and Bates were transported to Saint Lukes Magic Valley Hospital where they are being treated for their injuries. It is unknown if alcohol is a factor in this crash.
This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
