Concord Vermont – Police Pursuit

On 08/16/2008, at approximately 0105 hours, State Police attempted to effect a traffic stop on a red 2000 Ford Focus on Shadow Lake Road in Concord, for a motor vehicle infraction. The operator, Heath, sped off. A pursuit ensued with speeds reaching 80 MPH on back roads. The pursuit lasted for approximately 5 miles, where it ended on Hudson Road in Waterford when Heath stopped. Heath was taken into custody. Signs of impairment were detected and he was processed for DUI. Heath is scheduled to appear at a later date in Essex District Court on charges of Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, DUI, and Careless and Negligent Operation.
A passenger in the vehicle, Houghton, was found to be in possession of marijuana during the investigation at the side of the road. He was issued a citation to appear in Essex District Court on a later date for the offense.
