Major Incidents Reported for July 23, 2008

Robbery:

A door-to-door salesman was robbed of $10.00 last night near the intersection of Copley Rd and Madison Ave. The victim, 20-year-old male, reported that he was in the area doing door-to-door sales for a home security company. The suspect approached the victim and demanded money or the suspect would do bodily harm to the victim. The victim handed over $10.00 and the suspect fled.

The suspect is a black male 35 – 40 years old. He is about 6’03” tall and weighs between 150 – 160 lbs. He was wearing a maroon, orange, and yellow horizontal striped Polo Shirt and faded black pants. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.
Felonious Assault/Shooting:

Around 11:30 last night, an 18-year-old male reported that he was walking in the 1000 block Clark St when he passed a large fight in front of a house. The victim stated that he heard several popping sounds and then felt pain in his buttocks. The victim then realized that he had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

No information on a suspect is available.
Aggravated Robbery:

Shortly before 8:00 last night, a 19-year-old male victim was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint by three suspects near the bus terminal on Romig Rd.

Responding officers located an arrested two males involved in the robbery, the third suspect got away. Arrested were Lionel Mitchell, 22, of Himelright Blvd and Angelo Justice, 25, of Glenn St. Mitchell was charged with robbery and Justice was charged with Aggravated Robbery. The gun used in the robbery was recovered. They were booked into the Summit County Jail.

Felony Arrests Reported for July 23, 2008

Matthew P. Waszkiewicz, 40, of Lindenwood Ave in Akron was charged with Grand Theft Auto. Waszkiewicz took the victims auto from E. Rosewood Ave and refused to return it.

Lionel Mitchell, 22, of Himelright Blvd in Akron was charged with Robbery. Mitchell, Angelo Justice, and another unidentified black male, pistol whipped the victim and stole his money. He then tried to run before being apprehended by the police.

Angelo Justice, 25, of Glenn St in Akron was charged with Aggravated Robbery. Justice, Lionel Mitchell, and another unidentified black male, pistol whipped the victim and stole his money. He then tried to run before being apprehended by the police. Justice also had a gun that officers recovered.

Rodney L. Davis, 39, with no permanent address was charged with Rape. Davis sexually assaulted a 51-year-old female on July 19, 2008 at N. Howard St and Frederick Ave.

Tylon L. Allen, 24, of Elizabeth Parkway in Akron was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Sound Amplifying Device. Allen was stopped at 1400 S. Arlington St for sound amplifying device; stereo with volume that could be heard over 100 feet. Officers found a loaded 9mm handgun wedged between the drivers seat and center console in the vehicle.

Felony reports for July 23, 2008

Matthew P Waszkiewicz, 40, 387 Lindenwood Ave., Akron, Ohio was charged with Grand Theft Auto. Matthew took the victims vehicle with out permission and would no return it.

Lionel Mitchell, 22, 1090 Himelright Blvd., Akron, Ohio was charged with Robbery. Lionel was with Angelo Justice and another unidentified male. They pistol whipped the victim and stolen his money.

Angelo Justice, 25, 885 Glenn St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Aggravated Robbery. Angelo was with Lionel Mitchell and another unidentified male. They pistol whipped the victim and stolen his money.

Rodney L. Davis, 39, was charged with Rape. Rodney lured the victim to a wooded area and sexually assaulted the victim. Rodney made verbal and physical threats before, during and after the assault.

Tylon L. Allen, 24, 135 Elizabeth Pkwy, Akron, Ohio was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon Gun and Sound Amp. Tylon was stopped for loud music at 1400 S. Arlington St. A loaded gun was found inside the vehicle.
