Indiana - Traffic Fatality on Interstate 65 in Scott County

On today’s date at approximately 11:45 AM, a female was south bound on Interstate 65 around the Austin Exit, (Exit 34), driving a silver 1996 Ford Taurus. For an unknown reason her vehicle crossed the median into the north bound lanes of Interstate 65 and struck the left rear tandems of a north bound semi tractor and trailer. The semi tractor and trailer was driven by Kenneth J. Yeadon, 55, of Mooresville, IN.

The female was pronounced dead at the scene by Scott County Deputy Coroner, Kevin Collins.  The semi tractor and trailer which is owned by Kindle Trucking of Martinsville, IN was damaged and towed from the scene. Kenneth J. Yeadon was not injured in the crash.  Traffic on Interstate 65 north bound was closed for approximately three hours due to this crash. North bound traffic was routed off the interstate at the Scottsburg Exit, (Exit 29).

The female’s name will be released after the notification of the next of kin.

Indiana State Police Crash Reconstructionist reconstructed the crash scene.
