Bank Robbery for July 22, 2008
Bank Robbery:
Akron Police are on scene investigating a bank robbery that occurred shortly before 1:00 this afternoon at the Key Bank located at 404 E. Waterloo Rd. The suspects entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspects are three black males in a gray or silver colored car. No other information is available at this time. Detectives and officers are still on scene.
Update on suspects descriptions: 1. black male, wearing a nylon jacket, jeans, and a tan fishing hat. 2. black male, mustache, wearing a navy t-shirt, jeans, and a New York Yankees hat. 3. black male waiting in the get-a-way car.
The vehicle used in the robbery was a gray or silver car, possibly a Chevy Lumina. The vehicle had no front license plate and had damage on the passenger side.

Felony Arests Reported for July 22, 2008
Quinntin R. Chatman, 30, of Blanche St in Akron was charged with Burglary and Theft. Chatman possibly used a duplicate key to enter a resident in the 800 block of Kling St. Once inside he took a laptop computer that belong to the victim. The victim knows Chatman.
Marcell A. Hatcher, 19, of Fried St in Akron was charged with two counts of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor. Hatcher engaged in sexual conduct with the victims at different times and places. At the time of the offenses, Hatcher was 18 years old and the victim’s were 14 and 13 years old.
Clifford R. Wilson, 21, of Narragansett Dr in Tallmadge, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence, Aggravated Menacing, and Weapons under Disability. Wilson threatened the victim with a gun and then told her to leave. Officers responded and found a revolver in the couch cushions where he was sitting. He has a prior felony conviction, therefore he is not permitted to own or possess a firearm.

Major Incidents Reported fro July 22, 2008
Aggravated Robbery:
Around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, a 26-year-old male reported that he was walking home in 700 block of Clifford Ave when the suspect approached him. The suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings. The victim gave the suspect his wallet containing $7.00 in cash and his identification cards. The suspect then told the victim to take off running. As the victim was running, he heard a shot fired from the suspect.
The suspect is a black male 16 – 18 years old. He is about 5’08” tall and weighs about 140 lbs. He has gold capped teeth and a scar below his left eye. He was wearing dark baggy blue jeans, red T-shirt, and a Bluetooth headset in his ear. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.
Aggravated Robbery:
Shortly after 2:00 this morning a 34-year-old female reported that she was walking out of Thirsty’s Pub located at 1309 Grant St when she was approached by three males. One suspect put a gun to the victim’s side and demanded her purse. The victim’s friend, waiting for her to get off work, noticed the suspects talking to the victim. He approached the victim, noticed the suspect had a gun, and grabbed the gun from the suspect’s hand. The suspects then fled westbound through the back parking lot of the bar. The gun was turned over to the police.
The suspects were described as three black males. The first one is 30 – 35 years old, 5’03” – 5’06” tall, and weighs about 160 lbs. He had a gold grill on his teeth and was wearing all dark clothing. The second suspect is between 20 – 25 years old. He is about 5’08” tall and weighs between 160 – 170 lbs. He has braided hair and a goatee. He was wearing a white t-shirt and black pants. The third suspect is 20 –25 years old. He is about 5’06” tall and weighs about 160 lbs. He had a goatee. He was wearing all dark clothing. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.
