The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is providing a weekly update on road construction in northeast Wisconsin, which includes the counties of Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Oconto, Outagamie, Sheboygan and Winnebago.

Construction-related traffic impacts are subject to change and are dependent on favorable weather conditions.

Brown County
NE Region Local Road
Location: County JJ (Eaton Road) village of Bellevue, Manitowoc Road to County EA (Cottage Road)
Schedule: July to November 2008
Length: 1.442 miles
Cost: $2.5 Million
Description: Project involves reconstructing County JJ to an urban roadway. The work consists of grading, base aggregate, hot mix asphalt pavement, concrete curb & gutter, retaining walls, roundabout construction, and pavement marking.
Traffic Impacts: County JJ (Eaton Road) is closed to through traffic from Manitowoc Road to County EA for the duration of the project. Local access provided to residents, businesses, and emergency vehicles. The detour route in place for County JJ is I-43 to Mason Street to County EA back to County JJ.

NE Region Local Road
Location: City of Green Bay, Dousman Street from Military Avenue to Platten Street.
Schedule: June 16 to August 29, 2008
Length: 0.5 miles
Cost: $676,000
Description: Project involves removing pavement, grading, base course, sidewalk, driveways, concrete pavement, asphalt pavement, traffic control, and pavement marking.
Traffic Impacts: Dousman Street is closed to through traffic from Military Avenue to Platten Street for the duration of the project. Local access provided to residents, businesses, and emergency vehicles one way going west on Dousman Street. Two-way access provided at Military Avenue and Dousman Street 300 - 400 feet east of Military Avenue for business access. The detour route in place for eastbound Dousman Street is Military Avenue south to Shawano Avenue, east to Oneida Street, north to Dousman Street. The route for westbound Dousman Street is Oneida Street south to Shawano Avenue, west to Military Avenue, north to Dousman Street.

WIS 172
Location: From Airport Drive to US 41
Schedule: April 21, 2008 to August 2008
Length: 2.8 miles
Cost: $2.9 million
Description: The project involves rehabilitating WIS 172 from Airport Drive to US 41, including the ramp connections at the interchange of WIS 172 and US 41. Work consists of dowel bar retrofit, concrete pavement repair, diamond grinding, asphalt shoulder replacement, reshaping ditches, culvert pipe rehabilitation, beam guard replacement, pavement marking, signing, and landscaping.
Traffic impacts:

WIS 172 is reduced to one lane in each direction.
Sporadic nightly closures will occur through August 1 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the following ramp locations:
WIS 172 eastbound to US 41 northbound and southbound
WIS 172 westbound to US 41 southbound
US 41 northbound to WIS 172 eastbound
Sporadic shoulder closures along all ramps will occur through late July.
Calumet County
No state construction projects currently in progress.

Door County
NE Region Deck Sealing
Location: Northeast Region wide
Schedule: May to July 2008
Length: N/A
Cost: $550,000
Description: The project consists of cleaning and placing a sealant on the bridge decks.
Traffic Impacts: The roadway and bridges will remain open to one lane of traffic during cleaning and sealing operations. On 4-lane roadways, one lane is closed to traffic during cleaning and sealing operations. On 2-lane roadways, one lane in the bridge area is closed with flaggers directing traffic during the cleaning and sealing operations. Some ramps will be completely closed to traffic during cleaning and sealing operations. Sealing operations are planned for daytime only; all lanes will be open to traffic at night. Emergency vehicles should be able to get through at all times.

Maple - Oregon Bridge, Sturgeon Bay
  Sturgeon Bay bridge project
Location: Sturgeon Bay, across the ship channel
Schedule: October 2006 through September 2008
Length: 1,055 feet
Cost: $30 million
Description: The project constructs a new double leaf bascule bridge over the Sturgeon Bay ship channel, connecting Maple Street and Oregon Street.
Traffic/Vessel Impacts: There are no driving impacts to the public associated with the project. The United States Coast Guard has given the contractor permission to work over the navigation channel until August 15 during which time there may be three work barges within the vicinity of the shipping channel during the hours of 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. On July 22 the west leaf will be in the down position from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. with the east leaf being raised for vessel traffic at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.  On July 23 the east leaf will be in the down position from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. with the west leaf being raised for vessel traffic at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. From July 24 through August 15, during the work hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, the bridge will be opened at all times for commercial vessels and at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. for recreational vessels. At all other times and on weekends both leaves will be placed in the up position.

WIS 57
Location: South County Line Road to County H
Schedule: April 2008 to October 2008
Length: 11.00 miles
Cost: $13.5 million
Description: The work on this project consists of common and borrows excavation, crushed aggregate base course, concrete and asphalt pavement, erosion control, landscaping and traffic control.
Traffic impacts: Traffic will be maintained in its current configuration on existing WIS 57. From July 17 to August 1 traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions from approximately one-half mile north and south of the Macco Road intersection in Kewaunee County. Also, traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions from approximately one-half mile south of Cloverleaf Road to one-half mile north of WIS 42/County MM. Macco Road and Cloverleaf Road crossing will be completely closed during construction, while Stone Road and WIS 42/County MM will remain open. Traffic will be restored to four lanes for the weekend starting Friday, July 25 at 12 p.m. to Monday, July 28 at 6 a.m.

Third Avenue - Oregon Street to Jefferson Street
Location: Sturgeon Bay Third Avenue (Business 42/57)
Schedule: April 28 to July 2008
Length: 1,800 feet
Cost: $860,000
Description: The project consists of urban reconstruction including storm sewer, excavation, aggregate base course, concrete pavement, lighting, signing, landscaping, tree planting, and pavement marking.
Traffic Impacts: The project roadway is planned to be open for traffic beginning late Thursday July 3, 2008. During continued project activities the parking lanes along either side of the roadway and possibly a full lane closure will be required. Traffic control will be provided to accomplish these closures should they be required.

Fond du Lac County
US 151
  US 151 corridor project
Location: US 151 from County D to WIS 175
Schedule: August 27, 2007 through October 2008
Length: 3 miles
Cost: $13.2 million
Description: The project includes the paving of US 151 from County D to WIS 175, and includes the construction of seven new structures. The grading project for this portion of US 151 was completed in August 2007. The project also includes signal work at WIS 23/US 151 interchange as well as the US 41/US 151 interchange ramps.
Traffic impacts: The intersection of WIS 175/US 151 Bypass will be closed for reconstruction beginning March 3 and lasting through August 25. There will not be access to the US 151 Bypass via WIS 175 during this period. The detour route for Main Street will utilize US 151 to US 45 to Pioneer Road (County VV) to Main Street. The detour route for WIS 175 will utilize US 41 to County B to WIS 175. In addition to the WIS 175 closure, US 151 southbound will be restricted to one lane from approximately 700 feet south of Martin Road to WIS 175.

US 41
Location: US 151 to County OO
Schedule: April 7, 2008 to July 2009
Length: 6.2 miles
Cost: $ 26.3 million
Description: The project involves asphaltic milling and resurfacing, drainage rehabilitation, the installation of a median cable guard system, and replacement of the US 41/WIS 23 interchange.
Traffic impacts: Motorists should anticipate major backups on US 41 and are strongly advised to consider alternate routes.

Northbound US 41:
No lane closures anticipated.
Southbound US 41:
No lane closures anticipated.
Eastbound and Westbound WIS 23:
8 p.m. Monday, July 21 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 22 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 23: WIS 23 will be closed for structure removal. A signed detour will be installed.
Sixth Street (US 45)
Location: From Main Street to Fond du Lac Avenue in Fond du Lac.
Schedule: March 26, 2008 to October 31, 2008
Length: 0.71 miles
Cost: $2.4 million
Description: The project includes grading, base aggregate dense, concrete pavement, HMA pavement, sidewalk, curb and gutter, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and street lighting. This project is a reconstruction of the existing Sixth Street from Main Street to Fond du Lac Avenue. There will be minor adjustment to the profile and width of Sixth Street.
Traffic impacts: Sixth Street (US 45) is closed to through traffic. Residents may not be able to access their drives for a day at a time due to grading operations between Main Street and Park Avenue. The contractor will try to maintain access at the end of the day for the residents to access their driveway. Detour is as follows: northbound US 45 traffic west on County VV, to northbound WIS 175, to US 45. The southbound US 45 detour will follow the reverse path of the northbound detour.

Kewaunee County
No state construction projects currently in progress.

Manitowoc County
US 10 / WIS 310, US 10/WIS 310 – I-43 interchange
Location: Branch River to County R.
Schedule: July to August 2008
Length: 3.0 Miles
Cost: $1.6 million
Description: Work on US 10/WIS 310 involves rubblizing existing concrete pavement and overlaying it with asphalt pavement, intersection improvements at Wagon Wheel Road and Village Drive, and culvert replacements. Work on the I-43 ramps involves concrete joint repair and asphalt overlay.
Traffic impacts: US 10 and WIS 310 will be closed to through traffic, the detour will use County P east to County R and County R north to WIS 310 and south to US 10. The I-43 on/off ramps at US 10/WIS 310 will be closed. The detour route will be US 10 (Waldo Blvd.) to County R north to County P or WIS 310.

WIS 310
Location: Madison Street (WIS 310) between 14th Street and River Street. 16th Street (WIS 310) between River Street and Washington Street (WIS 42) in the city of Two Rivers
Schedule: September 17, 2007 to July 31, 2008
Length: 0.50 miles
Cost: $4.7 million
Description: This project will replace the existing Madison Street bascule bridge over the West Twin River with a new 5 span slab structure. In spring of 2008, 16th Street was scheduled to be reconstructed with new concrete pavement, as well as decorative stamped concrete, decorative street lighting and new traffic signals at the intersection of 16th Street and Monroe Street.
Traffic impacts: Madison Street (WIS 310) will be closed between 14th Street and River Street in the City of Two Rivers. The detour route will use Columbus Street to Memorial Drive (WIS 42) to 16th Street. Beginning Monday, March 31, 16th Street between Monroe Street and Washington Street (WIS 42) will be closed, the detour route will be the same as listed above. Beginning Monday, April 28 at 7 a.m., the 14th Street and Madison Street (WIS 310) intersection will be closed. The detour route will be the same as listed above. During this closure motorists will have access to local businesses using abutting side streets. Boat traffic on the West Twin River may be disrupted during construction. Boat traffic using the West Twin River should use caution under Madison Street bridge due to reduced vertical clearances.

US 10, 8th Street and Madison Street
Location: Madison Street between 10th Street and 8th Street, and 8th Street from Madison Street to Washington Street in the city of Manitowoc.
Schedule: April 21 to August 15, 2008
Length: 0.47 miles
Cost: $1.06 million
Description: This project consists of street reconstruction, which involves grading, base course, storm sewer, concrete pavement, concrete sidewalk and concrete curb and gutter.
Traffic impacts: Madison Street from 10th Street to 8th Street is closed.  8th Street from Madison Street to Washington Street is closed. The detour route will use 7th Street. During this closure, motorists will have access to local businesses using side streets.

Marinette County
WIS 64
   US 41 expansion - Marinette & Oconto Counties
Location: WIS 64 over the Little Peshtigo River and Peshtigo River
Schedule: June 2008 to November 2008

Description: Replacement of two bridges with some alignment corrections.
Traffic impacts:

Little Peshtigo River: Traffic is detoured around the Little Peshtigo River bridge using US 141, County P, and County W.
Peshtigo River: Traffic will be detoured via County D, County B and US 41
US 41
   US 41 expansion - Marinette & Oconto Counties
Location: County Y south of Peshtigo to Haynes Road north of Peshtigo.
Schedule: July 2008 to November 2009
Length: 3.63 miles
Cost: $19.5 million
Description: Grading, base aggregate, marsh excavation, concrete and asphalt pavements, and four structures – two over the Sault Ste. Marie / Canadian National railroad, and two over Schacht Road, permanent signing and marking, and all incidental items to complete the project.
Traffic impacts: Traffic control has lane closures and traffic narrowed to one lane in each direction northbound and southbound on US 41 north of Peshtigo. During this time period the contractor is constructing the US 41 crossovers and it is not anticipated that traffic will be switched to counter-directional flow during this two-week period. Schacht Road will be closed between US 41 and Old Peshtigo Road. All other side roads are open to traffic during this time period.

US 41, South Peshtigo Bypass
Location: County Y near Peshtigo to Schacht Road in Peshtigo
Schedule: June 2008 to November 2009
Length: 3.9 miles
Cost: $26.5 million
Description: This project widens US 41 to four lanes with restricted access while bypassing the city of Peshtigo. Project includes earthwork, ten structures, concrete and asphalt paving, signing, and striping.
Traffic impacts: Traffic will be maintained in its current configuration on existing US 41. Hale Road will be closed from approximately 600 feet south of Price Lane to approximately one third mile north of Price Lane until the end of the Peshtigo school recess, approximately September 1.

Marinette/Oconto Counties
US 41
  US 41 expansion - Marinette & Oconto Counties
Location: County S near Oconto to County Y near Peshtigo
Schedule: August 2007 through June 2009
Length: 10.9 miles
Cost: $22.6 million
Description: This project widens US 41 to four lanes with restricted access. Project included earthwork, four box culverts, concrete and asphalt paving, signing and striping.
Traffic impacts: Traffic was switched onto the new northbound lanes on July 15 from the south end of the project to County W. From County W to County Y, traffic will switch onto the new alignment on July 23, weather dependant.  Trucks will be entering and exiting the highway with flagging. Woodview Lane east reopened on July 15. Woodview Lane west of 41 closed on July 15.

Oconto County
County J
Location: Brown Road to Lilac Road, town of Little Suamico
Schedule: July to November 2008
Length: 1.80 Miles
Cost: $930,000
Description: Roadway reconstruction and relocation and railroad crossing replacement, including clearing, earthwork and surfacing.
Traffic impacts: The roadway will remain open during the clearing operations. County J will be closed to through traffic when earth-moving activities begin on or about July 9, 2008.

Location: New alignment of US 41 roadway grade and structures from existing Frog Pond Road north over the Oconto River to South of Mill Street in Oconto
Schedule: May 9 to November 2008
Length: 1.334 miles
Cost: $13.4 million
Description: This project constructs two highway bridges and one pedestrian bridge over the Oconto River in Oconto. A new bridge will be constructed to serve as southbound access to US 41 from existing US 41 through Oconto. The project also constructs a box culvert with lighting as part of a multi-modal trail to accommodate pedestrian traffic. Mainline roadways will be constructed from Frog Pond Road to Mill Street. This work includes grading embankments to sub-grade elevations, storm sewer and drainage pipe installations, concrete curb and gutter, asphalt pavement, and traffic control.
Traffic impacts:

Local roads are open to traffic. The contractor is currently utilizing the local road system to intermittently haul materials for construction.
Lane restrictions on northbound and southbound US 41 at the south end of the project to construct a temporary crossover as defined in the contract.
US 41 Nortrh Oconto Bypass
  US 41 expansion - Marinette & Oconto Counties
Location: Mill Street, city of Oconto to County S
Schedule: May 2008 to August 2009
Length: 3.3 miles
Cost: $15.3 million 
Description: This project constructs US 41 to four lanes with restricted access on a new alignment west of the city of Oconto. Project includes earthwork, five bridges, five box culverts, storm sewer and wetland mitigation.
Traffic impacts: Traffic will be maintained on all roadways except South Range Line Road. South Range Line Road will be closed for 60 days for construction of box culvert C-42-77. Construction traffic will be working near and will be crossing Mill Street, Mott Street, Van Hecke Avenue, and WIS 22. Flaggers will be present to stop or slow traffic when equipment is crossing WIS 22 and Mott Street.

Outagamie County
Lawe Street lift bridge
Location: Lawe Street lift bridge over the Fox River Navigation Canal in Appleton
Schedule: March 2007 through July 2008
Cost: $3.3 million
Description: This project rehabilitates the existing lift bridge and bridge approaches.
Traffic impacts: The Lawe Street bridge is closed to traffic.

WIS 76
Location: WIS 54 to Bear Creek
Schedule: January through September 2008
Length: 12.5 miles
Cost: $3.0 million
Description: Asphalt resurfacing; replacement of the WIS 76 bridges over the Embarrass River and over Bear Creek
Traffic impacts: WIS 76 will close for the construction of the Embarrass river bridge and the Bear Creek Bridge. Traffic will be detoured from approximately January to July. Detour route will be WIS 54 to US 45 to WIS 76. Resurfacing will be completed following the completion of the bridges and will be performed under traffic with the use of flaggers to control the traffic to one lane past the work site.

WIS 96
Location: US 41 to WIS 76
Schedule: April 14 through November 2008
Cost: $5,130,000
Description: The project includes lane widening and placing asphalt from 1000 feet east of WIS 76 to 500 feet west of Tower View Road and the reconstruction and expanding WIS 96 to a four lane divided highway from 500 feet west of Tower View Road to Casaloma Drive. Slotted left turn lanes will be built at the intersection of Casaloma Drive, McCarthy Road, Mayflower Road, and County CB.
Traffic impacts: WIS 96 will be open to traffic the remainder of construction. Lane closures utilizing flagging operations will be occurring during working hours. McCarthy Road and County CB have been reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. Side road closures will be occurring during stages of construction. Shoulder closures will be occurring for lane widening throughout the project.

WIS 96
Location: Between US 41 and Lynndale Avenue (County A) in the town of Grand Chute
Schedule: May 12 to August 2008
Length: 1.03 miles
Cost: $1,194,000
Description: The project involves pavement repair, concrete sidewalk, modular block retaining wall, reconstructing storm sewer and hot mix asphalt pavement.
Traffic impacts: WIS 96 will be restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction from US 41 to Lynndale Avenue (County A) throughout the project. The US 41 and WIS 96 ramps will be closed to complete the concrete milling work on Friday July 18 from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and to complete the asphalt paving work on Wednesday July 23 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. There will also be periodic closings of lanes on Westhill Boulevard and Bluemound Drive to complete milling and asphalt paving.

WIS 55
Location: Crooks Avenue, city of Kaukauna, 18th Street to 7th Street
Schedule: April 30th to November 2008
Cost: $1,800,000
Description: The project includes grading, storm sewer, concrete paving and traffic signals.
Traffic impacts: WIS 55 will be closed to traffic throughout construction. Cross traffic will be maintained at 16th Street, 14th Street, 13th Street, 12th Street, 10th Street, and 7th Street; periodic closures will happen on these streets and cross traffic will be maintained with the use of flag persons. Henry Street and 18th Street will be open to local traffic only and periodic closures will be maintained with flag persons. Side road closures will be occurring during the different stages of construction. The detour route is WIS 96 to County N to County CE.

Sheboygan County
County V
Location: WIS 57 to County I
Schedule: July to September 2008
Description: The project will reconstruct the existing roadway.
Traffic impacts: The road was closed to thru traffic on Tuesday July 15, 2008. County V will remain closed to through traffic from WIS 57 to County I until mid September. The detour route is County I, to County N, to WIS 28, to WIS 57. County M traffic can cross County V. County VN access to County V is closed for the duration of the project.

NE Region Local Road
Schedule: July 7 to September 19, 2008
Length: 0.1 miles
Cost: $544,747
Location: Town of Holland, Eernisse Road bridge.
Description: Project involves removal of the existing structure and replacement with structure B-59-183, grading, base aggregate dense, asphalt surface steel plate beam guard, riprap, traffic control, and pavement marking.
Traffic Impacts: Eernisse Road will be closed to traffic beginning at the intersection of Palmer and Eernisse and proceeding west approximately 0.1 mile. No detour route will be posted.

Winnebago County
Oakwood Road (town of Algoma)
Location: Oakwood Road, County E / Witzel Avenue to WIS 21, town of Algoma
Schedule: July 17 to October 2008
Cost: $1.3 million
Description: This project involves reconstruction of the existing roadway from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway. Storm sewer, grading, concrete curb & gutter, asphalt pavement and sanitary sewer/water main adjustments are part of the project.
Traffic impacts: Oakwood Road will be closed to through traffic from County E / Witzel Avenue to WIS 21 for the duration of the project. A 12-foot roadway will be maintained at all times to residences and roadways that are on this portion of Oakwood Road. This access may alternate between the County E / Witzel Avenue end and the WIS 21 end, depending on the contractor’s work operations.

US 41
Location: WIS 26 to Breezewood Lane (WIS 21 to US 45)
Schedule: July 8 to September 2008
Cost: $552,853
Description: This project consists of razing and removing Parcels 44, 49, 61, 62, 74 & 82 under Plat 1120-11-21 and Parcel 126 under Plat 1120-11-22 and incidentals.
Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts. Work will be conducted in a manner that does not interfere with traffic on the local roads.

Wisconsin Street bridge
  Wisconsin Street bridge project
Location: Wisconsin Street span over the Fox River in Oshkosh
Schedule: September 25, 2006 through mid-October 2008
Cost: $18.5 million
Description: This project replaces the current Wisconsin Street span with a four-lane lift bridge with pedestrian and bicycle access.
Traffic impacts: Wisconsin Street is closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic from May 6, 2008 to October 11, 2008.

US 45
  US 45 expansion project
Location: County G to County II
Schedule: September 2007 through October 2008
Length: 4.3 miles
Cost: $5.9 million
Description: This project will convert the existing two-lane expressway into a four-lane expressway by adding two additional lanes to the east of US 45. Nearly a mile of the existing lanes near Breezewood Lane and Woodland Drive, including the intersection, will be reconstructed to improve sight distance.
Traffic impacts: Motorists can expect vehicles entering and exiting the northbound shoulder. Construction equipment will be crossing side roads that intersect US 45. The existing US 45 will be closed from County II in Winchester to County GG (WIS 116) in Winneconne starting on May 27 until approximately the end of August. (access to County II from the north and to County GG (WIS 116) from the south will be allowed). Traffic will be allowed to cross existing US 45 at Grandview Road and Lakeview/Oakridge Road. Breezewood Lane crossing the existing US 45 will be closed at times to complete construction of new US 45. The detour from the south is US 41 to WIS 76 north to US 10 west, to existing US 45. The detour from the north is US 10 east to WIS 76 south to US 41 to existing US 45. Cross traffic at Oakridge Road and Grandview Road will be closed for approximately two days to allow for paving of US 45 sometime during the week of July 21.

US 45
Location: US 45 at County T
Schedule: August 2007 through August 2008
Cost: $4.9 million
Description: The project involves reconstructing the intersection as a full-access interchange with ramps and an overpass structure.
Traffic impacts: Temporary signals are installed at US 45 and Fernau/Snell Avenue. County T is closed from Sterns Road to Lake Butte des Morts/County S and there is no access to/from US 45 until August 2008. Intermittent lane closures will occur on US 45 in northbound and southbound lanes. The intersection of County T and Stearns Drive was opened Saturday, July 12. County T will remain closed from Stearns Drive to Lake Butte des Morts drive.

Location: Ohio Street from South Park Avenue to the Fox River Bridge in the city of Oshkosh
Schedule: April 1, 2008 through mid-October 2008
Cost: $4.3 million
Description: This project involves reconstruction of the existing roadway. New sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, concrete pavement, and lighting are all part of the project.
Traffic impacts: WIS 44 is closed from South Park Street to the Fox River Bridge. WIS 44 will close to traffic from Witzel Avenue to the Fox River Bridge beginning Tuesday, May 6. The detour route for southbound traffic is as follows:  east on High Street, south on Main Street, and west on South Park Avenue. The detour route for northbound traffic is as follows: East on South Park Avenue, north on Main Street, and west on Algoma Boulevard.  Alternating intersections will remain open to allow for cross traffic within the project limits. Motorists are advised that local access to businesses will be maintained. Witzel Avenue is closed to traffic from North Campbell Road to Ohio Street.  Motorists are advised to use an alternate route.

Schedule: May 6, 2008 to mid-October 2008
Cost: $1 million
Description: This project involves reconstruction of the existing roadway. New storm sewer, concrete pavement, sidewalk, traffic signals and lighting are all part of the project.
Traffic impacts: WIS 44 is closed to traffic from the Fox River Bridge to Campus Place. The detour route for southbound traffic is: east on High Street, south on Main Street, and west on South Park Avenue. The detour route for northbound traffic is: east on South Park Avenue, north on Main Street, and west on Algoma Boulevard. Pearl Avenue is closed to traffic and will remain closed until Thursday, August 6. There is no detour for the Pearl Avenue closure.

South Commercial Street, city of Neenah, South Park Avenue – Lyon Drive
Location: City of Neenah, South Park Avenue to Lyon Drive
Schedule: June 6 to late August 2008
Length: 0.6 miles
Cost: $1.0 million 
Description: The roadway will be reconstructed as four lanes with curb and gutter. Sidewalk will be installed on the west side of Commercial Street and a recreational path will be installed on the east side. Storm sewer will be installed. Signing will be replaced. 
Traffic impacts: Commercial Street will be closed from South Park Street to Lyon Drive. A detour route for through traffic will follow County G west from South Commercial Street to Schultz Drive, north on Schultz Drive to Enterprise Drive, east on Enterprise Drive to Industrial Drive, north on Industrial Drive to Bell Street, and then east on Bell Street back to South Commercial Street. Residents living on Regent Place will be allowed access via Castle Oak Drive.  Residents living on S. Commercial Street have been informed that they will not have access to their driveways for approximately the next month until sufficient strength is achieved in their driveway aprons that will be poured mid-August. They will have to park vehicles on the nearest side road and walk. Customer access for motorcycles only to Classic Cycle will be provided via a six feet wide gravel trail from Alexander Street to Classic Cycle’s driveway.

Motorists should slow down, use caution and stay alert when driving through construction zones. To avoid delays, consider taking an alternative route and avoid peak travel periods. Before leaving home, check the following sources for information about work zones and detours:
