Vermont State Police, Lancaster NH Fire Department and Rescue Squad responded to a two vehicle head on collision on VT Route 102 in Guildhall. Operator #1 (Brown) was traveling north on VT Route 102 approaching a sharp curve.
Operator #2 (Smith) was traveling south. As Operator #1 (Brown) entered the curve, he lost control of the motorcycle he was operating and slid on the pavement into the on-coming lane of travel. Operator #2 (Smith) took evasive action, but was unable to avoid a collision. Operator #1 (Brown) was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured. Though the accident remains under investigation, speed appears to have been a factor. VT Route 102 was closed for approximately 2.5 hours for the investigation.
