Type: Search & Rescue
Text: On 6/23/08 at approximately 2113 hours, Talkeetna AST was notified
of two male adults that had crashed their boat on some boulders in the
middle of Peters Creek approximately six miles up from the mouth.  It
was reported that the two individuals were standing in the middle of the
creek and could not get out.  AST launched Helo 1 from Anchorage who
responded to the scene and was able to rescue the men and fly them to
Willow.  Subsequent investigation revealed that Anthony Roberts, 51 of
Anchorage, and Randy Spohnholz, 55 of Anchorage, were floating down
Peters Creek when they could not avoid hitting some boulders.  Roberts
and Spohnholz had a satellite phone and were able to call a friend for
help who in turn reported it to AST.  Roberts and Spohnholz were treated
by Houston EMS and were released from the scene.

Type:  MVC-I
Text:  On 6/23/08 at approximately 2054 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a single vehicle roll over on Pittman Road near
Fireweed Fields, Wasilla.  Investigation revealed that Michael Canter,
age 39, of Wasilla was driving his 1999 Dodge Pickup southbound on
Pittman Road when he lost control of his vehicle negotiating a curve.
The vehicle left the roadway and rolled into the ditch.  Canter and his
passenger were both transported to Matsu Regional Medical Center by
medics for treatment of their injuries.  Both occupants reported that
they were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Canter’s vehicle was totaled.

Text: On 6-23-08 at about 1808 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a
report of a burglary at a residence off of Hallie Drive in Wasilla.
Investigation revealed that an estimated $200.00 in household items was
stolen from the residence.  Investigation is continuing.  Anyone with
information is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at
745-2131 or the Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

Text: On 6-23-08 at 1820 hours, AST in Palmer arrested Ernest E. Davis,
age 57, of Wasilla on an outstanding $5000.00 Felony arrest warrant for
Misconduct Controlled Substance 4th Degree (3 counts). Davis was
arrested without incident at his residence near Red Sky Ct, Wasilla and
remanded to MatSu Pretrial Facility.

Case number: 08-49711
Type: Motor Vehicle Crash – Injury, Commercial Vehicle
Text: On 6/23/08 at approximately 1547 hours, Talkeetna AST responded to
Mile 91 Parks Highway for a report of a two vehicle crash.  Susbequent
investigation revealed that Clyde Connolly, 58 of Talkeetna, was driving
northbound in her 2000 Dodge Durango when she crossed the center line
for unknown reasons and collided with a 2009 Peterbilt being driven by
Joshua McMillen, 30 of Anchorage. After colliding with the Peterbilt,
Connolly’s vehicle rolled off of the West side of the highway and struck
a tree.  Connolly was wearing her seatbelt and had to be extricated from
her vehicle.  Connolly suffered injuries and was transported to Mat-Su
Regional Hospital by EMS.  McMillen was wearing his seatbelt and was not
injured in the crash.  Connolly’s vehcile was totaled in teh crash and
was towed from the scene.  McMillen’s Peterbilt sustained approximately
$15,000.00 damage and was towed from the scene.  The investigation is
continuing.

Type:  Theft II, Burglary I
Text:  On 6/23/08 at approximately 2301 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a burglary and theft at a residence near
Palmer.  Investigation revealed that approximately $6000.00 in items was
stolen from the residence.  Anyone with information is encouraged to
call the Alaska State Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at
745-3333.  Investigation is continuing.

Type: Assault 4th DV

Text: On 06-24-08 at approximately 0645 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to an address off of Schrock Road, Wasilla in reference to a
domestic dispute. Investigation revealed Nichols Garver, age 28 or
Wasilla assaulted a female at the residence. Garver was arrested on
scene and remanded Mat-Su Pre-Trial for Domistic Violence Assault in the
Fourth Degree. Garver was transported to MSPT were he is being held
without bail.

Type: Driving Without a License (NVOL)

Text: On 06-24-08 at approximately 0140 hours, Alaska State Troopers
conducted a traffic stop on a 1975 Kawasaki Motorcycle on Hollywood Road
in Wasilla for headlight requirements during the hours of darkness. The
driver of the vehicle was identified as Den M. Delaney, age 18 of Big
Lake. Investigation revealed that Delaney had a vaild drivers license;
however, Delaney had no motorcycle endorsement. Delaney was issued a
summons to appear in court at a later date for NVOL. Delaney was
released at the scene and the vehicle was released to its owner.

Text: On 6-24-08, at approximately 1210 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Diana L. Hurn, age 36, of Wasilla, at a residence on Via
Tranquilla Drive in Wasilla.  Hurn was discovered to have an outstanding
warrant for her arrest for Failure to Fulfill Custodian’s Duties.  Hurn
was arrested, transported and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where she was
held on $150.00 bail.

Text: On 6-23-08, at about 1655 hours, Alaska State Troopers flew to the
Village of Ouzinkie where they contacted 33 YOA Glenda Lee Zeedar.
Zeedar was subsequently arrested on an outstanding Assault 4- DV arrest
warrant and transported to Kodiak.  Zeedar was remanded at the Kodiak
Jail without bail.

Type: Warrant Arrest, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 6th
Degree

Text: On 6-23-08, at about 2040 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped a
white 2002 Ford F250 pickup on Sharatin Road for an equipment violation.
Subsequent investigation revealed the passenger 32 YOA Derrek John
Howell of Kodiak was in possession of 8.7 grams of marijuana and had two
outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrants; original charge Driving While
License Revoked.  Howell was arrested and remanded at the Kodiak Jail on
charges of MICS 6 and the warrants.  Bail is set at $1,750.00.

Type: Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree

Text: On 6-23-08, at about 2037 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded
to the Helipad on Spruce Cape Road for a report of a fight in progress
between two adult males.  Subsequent investigation revealed 24 YOA Jokey
Sheldon II of Anchorage sold marijuana to another individual, which
resulted in Sheldon being assaulted.  Sheldon was issued a uniform
summons and complaint for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in
the 5th Degree and released.

Text: On June 22, 2008 at 0956 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in King
Salmon received a report of an assault that had occurred in the village
of Egegik. Troopers from the King Salmon AST Post responded to the
village of Egegik on the morning of June 23. Investigation revealed that
a 41 year old woman had been assaulted by two other females in the early
morning hours of June 20th. The 41 year old female received minor
injuries from the assault and did not seek medical attention.
Investigation continues.

Text:On 06/23/08 at approximately 1300 hours, AST arrested Thomas
AGUCHAK, 37YOA of Nunam Iqua on an outstanding warrant for Assault 4.
The warrant was issued as a result of an investigation into a domestic
violence assault that occurred in Nunam Iqua on 06/18/08. AGUCHAK was
taken into custody without incident and held at the Emmonak city jail
facility pending transport to YKCC. The original bail amount was set at

Type:  Assault 3rd/ with a firearm

Text: On June 23, at 2215 hours, the Alaska State Troopers Dillingham
received a report of an assault that had occurred in the village of
Manokotak approximately 1845 hours that evening.  Investigation revealed
that William Delgado, age 43, claimed that he observed a teenage boy in
his yard attempting to steal something.  Delgado fired two shotgun
rounds into the air and scared off the boy.  The boy, age 16, of
Manokotka denied he had been attempting to steal anything and he said he
was at Delgado’s house at Delgado’s girlfriend’s request.  The boy said
Delgado’s actions placed him in immediate fear for his safety and life.
Delgado’s girlfriend, Agnus Seballos, age 46, also of Manokotak,
confirmed that she had invited the boy to the house to help her with a
project.  Delgado later admitted that he had fired the gun into the air
because he was upset with Seballos after seeing her with the boy, but
Delgado claimed that the rounds he fired were only blanks.  Delgado also
admitted he had been drinking alcohol earlier in the day before the
incident.  The incident is under continuing investigation.

Type: DUI, DWLR, Violate Conductions of Release
Text:  On 6/19/2008, at 1950 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted
Thomas Marley, age 51, of Chignik Bay, on a traffic stop in Chignik Bay.
 The investigation revealed that Marley had been previously arrested for
DUI and released from jail.  Part of Marley’s conditions of release were
no driving.  The investigation further revealed that Marley was
intoxicated.  Marley was arrested for DUI, Driving While his License was
Revoked, and violation conditions of release.  Marley was transported to
King Salmon and remanded into the Bristol Bay Holding Facility.

Type:  Alcohol Importation
Text: On the afternoon of 6/23/08, during a routine patrol of the
Manokatak airport, VPSO Andrew contacted Twyla Gloko, age 21, of
Manokotak, who had just flown into town from Dillingham.  Subsequent
investigation revealed that Gloko had been attempting to smuggle alcohol
into the dry village.  Seven bottles of whiskey were found in Gloko’s
luggage and seized.  Charges against Gloko will be referred to the
District Attorney’s Office.

Text:  On 6/16/08, an owner of a seasonal cabin on an island in
Aleknagik Lake reported that the cabin had been burlgarized sometime
within the last week.  Food items and alcohol were taken from the cabin.
 Investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this
burglary is asked to call the Dillingham office of the Alaska State
Troopers at 842-5641 or Aleknagik VPSO at 842-2189.

Text: On 6-24-08. at approximately 1209 hours, Nome AST made contact
with Christopher Paniptchuk, 33 yoa of Shaktoolik, while on patrol in
the village.  Paniptchuk was arrested on an outstanding Nome court
warrant.  Paniptchuk was arrested and transported to AMCC without
incident.

Abuse of a minor third degree          

Text: On 6-24-08, at approximately 0435 hours, Nome AST received a
report of a sexual assault in Shaktoolik.  Investigation determined that
Christopher Paniptchuk, 33 yoa of Shaktoolik, had entered into a
residence and sexually assaulted a female juvenile.  Paniptchuk was
under arrest for an outstanding arrest warrant and transported to AMCC
without incident.  Paniptchuk is charged with Burglary in the first
degree, two counts of Sexual Assault in the second degree, and one count
of sexual abuse of a minor.

Text: On 6-23-2008, at 1716 hours Alaska State Troopers responded to a
Woll road residence following a disturbance.  James Robert Helstrom, age
20 of Fairbanks, was assaulted by a 15 y.o.a male juvenile and a 16
y.o.a male juvenile at his residence.  Both juveniles were arrested and
charged with assault 4 and remanded to FYF.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision- Moose      

Text: On 6-22-08, at 1532 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report
of a single motor vehicle collision at 14 mile Chena Hot Springs Road.
Christopher Charles Harris, age 27 of England, collided into a moose
with his 2007 Ford sedan.  His friends, Christopher Blackford, age 27,
Peter White, age 23, and Paul Quinn, age 27, all from England were
present in the vehicle.  All individuals utilized their seatbelts, and
no injuries were reported.  Damage to the 2007 Ford sedan is estimated
over $2000.

Text: On 6-24-2008, at 0115 hours, Alaska State Troopers arrested Jacob
Lee Wright, age 33 of Fairbanks, for an outstanding arrest warrant for
an Assault 4 charge.  He was taken to FCC, where he was held on $250
bail.  Wright was initially contacted after he reported that his
ex-girlfriend had failed to return his car after borrowing it.

Type: DUI, DWLR/S, Reckless Endangerment
Text: On 06/20/08 at approximately 2253 hours, troopers conducted a
traffic stop on a 1988 black Nissan truck for traveling 77 MPH in a
posted 65 MPH zone.  The stop was conducted at approximately mile 1405
of the Alaska Highway.  The driver was identified as Gerald J. Deisler,
age 33, of Delta Junction.  Deisler was arrested after failing several
field sobriety tests.  Deisler was additionally charged with Driving
While License Revoked / Suspended and Reckless Endangerment.  Deisler
was charged with Reckless Endangerment due to the fact there was a
sixteen year old male in the vehicle at the time of the stop.  Deisler
was remanded to FCC on $2,500.00 bail.

Type: Disorderly Conduct

Text: On 6/21/08 at approximately 2256 hours, AST received a call of a
man passed out on the side of the Parks Hwy at mile post 230.  AST
responded and arrived at 0021 hours on 6/22/08 and identified Michael
Jude Bailey,  33 of Anchorage.  Bailey was highly intoxicated and
provided a breath sample to AST to determine a breath alcohol level. 
Bailey’s breath alcohol level was a .408% at the time of the contact. 
Due to the location of where Bailey was passed out, he posed danger to
himself as well as other people in the area.  Bailey was arrested for
Disorderly Conduct and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center and
held on a $500.00 bond.

Type: Death non-criminal

Text: On 6-24-08, at approximately 1252 hours, AST conducted a welfare
check at a residence on Ludecker Street on Eric Lepage after receiving a
request after he did not show up for work.  Upon arrival, AST knocked on
the door and did not receive a response.  A child was heard crying and
entance was forced into the residence.  Eric Lepage age 27 of Fairbanks
was found deceased.  Cause of death is unknown.

Type: MVC- Damage, Hit and Run
Text: On 6/23/08 at about 2122 hours AST received a report of a hit and
run car crash at University Avenue and Geraghty Avenue in Fairbanks.
Information from witnesses at the scene led AST to be able to contact
the at fault driver on 6/24/08.  Investigation revealed that Lance Viers
(20 YOA, Fairbanks) failed to yield to University traffic as he drove a
1997 Ford Taurus into the intersection of University and Geraghty.
Viers’ vehicle struck the side of a 2001 Toyota Four Runner driven by
Karon Ann Hokanson (52 YOA, Placerville, CA).  Minor damage occurred to
both vehicles. Viers failed to stop at the scene to check the occupant
of the other vehicle and failed to exchange information with the other
driver as required by Alaska law.  Criminal charges will be forwarded to
the District Attorney’s Office for Veirs.  All occupants reported
wearing their seat belts and no air bags were deployed in the crash.

Text: At Approximately 23:30 hours, Soldotna dispatch received a 911
call from Janice Johnson , age 57, of Kasilof stating that her husband,
Mathias Johnson, age 64, of Kasilof  was found deceased in their
residence near Mile 107 Sterling Hwy near Kasilof, AK.  The death
appears to have been from natural causes .  Next of kin was on scene.

Text: On 6-21-08 at approximately 1631 hours, Joe Tracy, 61 yoa of
Anchor Point, reported his residence had been burglarized during the
night. Trooper investigation is pending.

Type: MCA, Furnishing Alcohol to Minor, MICS VI

Text: On 6/21/08 at approximately 2352 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received the report of a loud party with fireworks or shotgun blasts
occurring near Rail Court in Seward.  AST arrived on scene at
approximately 0033 hours and observed multiple people running into the
woods.  One individual, Christopher Campbell, age 19 of Seward, was
contacted and the investigation determined Campbell had consumed
alcohol.  Another individual, Scott Hubbard, age 22 of Seward, was
contacted and the investigation determined Hubbard supplied alcohol to
persons under 21 years of age.  Hubbard was also in possession of a
small amount of marijuana.  Campbell was issued a summons to appear in
court for Minor Consuming.  Hubbard was placed under arrest for
Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor and MICS VI.  Hubbard was transported to
the Seward City Jail and remanded.  Bail was set at $750.00.

Type: Failure to Register as a Sex Offender 2nd, Probation Violation
Text: On 6/24/08, at 1220 hours, Troopers arrested John C. Magee Jr., 58
of Seward, for failing to register as a sex offender.  Troopers
contacted Magee during an investigation of his sex offender registration
status and placed him under arrest when it was discovered that he had
failed to file two quarterly registrations as required by law.  Magee
was also found to be in violation of felony probation by not complying
with all laws.  Magee was booked into the Seward Jail on no bail.

Text: On 06/20/08 at 1100 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a
citation to Dennis Hopkins, 53 yoa of Petersburg, in Petersburg for not
having an Escape Mechanism on his Personal Use Dungeness crab pot. An
investigation by Troopers revealed Hopkin’s Dungeness crab pot did not
have the required bio-degradable cotton twine attached to the pot lid
tie down straps.

Kotzebue with the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team, contacted

investigation determined Hawley was traveling to Kivalina with 16.2
grams of Marijuana.  The drugs were seized and charges of Misconduct

Type: Vehicle Theft 1, NVOL, MICS4

Text: On 6/23/08 at approximately 2250 hours, AST received a report that
a 1998 Honda motorcycle, a firearm, some jewelry and approximately $200
cash had been stolen from a residence on Hornung Rd. in Palmer.  At
approximately 0726 hours, after observing a motorcycle traveling at a
high rate of speed through Eagle River, Investigators with the Alaska
Bureau of Investigation stopped a 1998 Honda motorcycle that was
identified as stolen from the complainant.  The driver, Parris Skoutas,
age 39, did not have a driver’s license to operate a motorcycle.  During
a search of Skoutas several items were identified that belonged to the
complainant.  Also found were a substantial number of prescription pills
not labeled as prescribed to Skoutas.  Skoutas was arrested for Vehicle
Theft 1, NVOL, and MISC4 and was remanded to MSPT.  Skoutas’ bail was
set at $15,000 C/C plus CATP.  The stolen firearm was not recovered in
this case.  Anyone with information on this case or the where about of
the items that were stolen are asked to call the Alaska State Troopers
at 745-2131 or the Matsu-Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
